  1. Thanks Adam for the sneakpeak review, nice.

With Rings of Power S1 now out and GOT's House of the Dragon sequel showing on HBO, AmazonP must be betting big time that WOT S2 will quench the thirst of us epic fantasy fans this year. I'm having trouble keeping track of all the character names and places of each TV dream world!

Hoping WOT S2 can compete favorably with the new LOTR; the actors, scenes and screenplay of Rings of Power are all very cool and honestly view better than WOT S1 (sorry Rafe). I think the reason is obvious; 13 doorstop-sized vs 5 bite-sized novels, many more characters, a far more complex storyline and an ending that didn't really end...WOT S1 was frustrating to watch for those of us who read and reread Jordan & Sanderson so much because it tried to link events in future sequel books to earlier book chapters and the juxtaposition often squealed as if it needed an oil change.

've read numerous scorching reviews from book fans and no need to be redundant. There are plenty of blatant guffaws to point out, in conjunction with nubile writing/directing and just plain, good old fashion bad acting. What can I add? First...

Well, King, I’ve added this before so I feel it’s warranted having watched the last episode to say it again...That I

tend to agree that the cut-corners and mostly cheap story rewrites have taken their toll on me watching S1 WoT TV series.  It seems like Rafe somehow talked Harriet and Brandon into a swampy mess and I’m just not sure this sulfurous stench is ever gonna wash off any of us who followed them in. Wish they had Peter Jackson to clean it up now before it all turns to putrescine & cadaverine. Sorry to be so negative but the show desperately needs help.

I've been waiting 30 yrs for this show, I would rather wait a few more just so they can get it right. I could easily see 9 seasons at 12 episodes a piece so why the rush

  4. There are two paths to take:

High trail; steep ascent, the TV series really messed up RJ’s vision and endgame, the view is spectacular.

Low trail; many switchbacks, let the book readers perseverate on who took the high trail and the keep the interested non readers wondering if Am-Prime will green light S3, still in the trees...

=>Light willing, cast, crew, execs and true believers loaded-up for signing the summit log regardless...

  5. The negative reviews are understandable from those who thought the TV series was actually going to closely follow the books.

I never figured the TV series could actually come close to reproducing what took R Jordan and B Sanderson 23yrs and 4.4 million words to create.

I choose to sit back and enjoy whatever Rafe & his (s)WoT team have planned for us to watch, regardless of whether the work carbon-copies the books.

You can bet The Dark One wants this story told in any form possible to reach a wider audience. Seriously...Lanfear and her Darkfriend's don't sabotage their own chances to please Shai'tan!

The budget for this series will have to grow, and hopefully it gets the viewership to condone that.

I'm not sure whether "Amazon Prime" really cares about increased viewership justifying more episodes, more seasons, better budget, etc. But what other metric can be used? Dragonmount.com fan-ship claps, boos, screams and shouts?

  7. True, mass-healing by Nynaeve (or any other channeler) was not mentioned in the books, but I choose to believe that she wove those healing-threads unwittingly due to her innate Wisdom abilities and somehow plugged-in to The Power conduit during her moment of grief, anger, desperation and shock seeing Lan pumping his life-blood from the neck wound. But remember, Nynaeve the Wilder did a lot of interesting things with The Power that really surprised other channelers.

  8. When Nynaeve's dreadlocks go vertical and she screams a primal, desperate channeling of The One Power flowing through her, the ozone-sparking aura of bright light bursting "Like a raging sun", I had to re-run it thrice and teared-up again and again! Everyone in the cave looks at her, realizing she has just healed ALL of their mortal wounds SIMULTANEOUSLY...Something the best trained Aes Sedai healers couldn't do...And after poor Logain is stilled by linked-up Liandrin,  when Nynaeve turns towards you and catches your eyes, head tilted, her burning dark gaze wakes-up something inside far deeper and more powerful than obi wan kenobi or gandolf ever could (sorry SW & LOTR fans!). These are the emotions I was hoping the WoT TV Series were going to stir. And it does, Good-O!  Thanks to the cast, producers and all those responsible for bringing RJ's vision to life.

  9. Thanks for the education bobert, I wasn’t expecting that for an answer but loaded words can carry so much cultural baggage that we all have to watch where we step these days...I suppose! So I guess The Corruption is a good substitute for the raging, hydrophobic-like, mind-twisting weaves associated with Saidin.

  10. I agree. Why is he calling The Taint, The Corruption?

Was hoping to see more of Tam and Min and WolfBrothers. And at least one of the Forsaken.

And I thought a WayGate was flowing with Avendesora leaves from Ogier-nurtured ancient gardens.

But OMG, how scary to see an army of trollics descending towards you! Hope they cast them as the 7-9ft tall, men-eating monsters that they are.
