  1. I also joined Tarvalon.net. They seem to at least have some sections where people who haven't finished the series can post. (for those who read the first 8 books, actually). But that place seems to have a lot of long moments where nobody posts, and I often would google topics and find old posts from this place and enjoy reading them- so I joined here too! I also still post on the reddit. I don't know- I feel like you should have something simliar. A place for those who have only read say...maybe the first six books? I don't know whom I'd ask to get such a thing and I'm sure they'll have to do something one the TV series comes out on Amazon prime or whatever. Funnily enough, I found out about the series because I was looking for a fantasy series to read and when I went on barnes and nobles website, I saw Eye of the World as the first book listed under fantasy. and I went "hey! I've seen that book cover before somewhere. Hmm..I want a long series." and then I checked and saw it said 14 books long and said "PERFECT." lol. I didn't learn until after reading the first two books and being half way through the third book, that there was a TV series coming soon. It's funny, I really liked her at first, in the first two or three books. But all the books after that- her constant negative attitude and short temper and acting superior to everyone (Without having a good reason anymore) was just annoying. Not really. I like that she healed gentling but c'mon. She's often an insufferable bitch. (I hope occasional cussing is allowed on this site) It's disappointing because I really liked her a whole lot at first! But if she softens as much as has been hinted at in the books itself (Ever since Lan has now been unofficially her warder)....she's taking a ridiculously long time to get there! Green Ajah. I like them. Them and Blue Ajah are a easily a tie for me, when it comes to favorite Ajahs. All others come second or third, etc after them. In my tabletop game, my character Jessica came from another world- so she became Blue Ajah without being sure what it was (long story. You can see the thread if you wish), but if she had better understood the Ajahs, she definitely would have chosen Green.
  2. oh burn me....did my new thread about my Wheel of time tabletop game get posted in the wrong section then? If it did, I'm SUPER sorry! I'm still learning how to navigate this place and where things go. And honestly, Faile is only starting to bother me recently when Elyas was proven right about her liking to be yelled at.. before that, she was just starting to make no sense but then when I found out why via him..I started to dislike her a whole lot more, but I never ceased liking Perrin! Winter's Heart is an alright read so far. Typical slow pacing of the series so far seems to be holding it back from greatness but it's not as bad as some past books so far... edit: LIGHT! there's hardly anywhere I can post on this forum because it's RIDDLED with spoilers.....I may have to avoid anywhere except the two threads I created until I can finish the whole flaming series!
  3. Well, my wheel of time game uses ideas from the offical game (the campaign included in the book), and from a fan made one based on D&D 5 (for classes and races) but all mixed with a homebrew system of my own. Also, my players know nothing about wheel of time, so I have had to teach them some things as we play. But it is the Void. Void is...a different kind of tabletop game. The Void isn’t like most tabletop games. It can change and evolve over time, into many things.Jessica is the character I’ve used since it began, and I’ve had many players come and go since it began. Essentially, the way the game goes is that the character you use, can travel to many worlds and can keep all memories they’ve had so far, from campaign and setting to campaign and setting. We’ve done Star Wars Saga Edition, D&D 3.5, D&D 4, D&d 5, a superhero setting, and D20 Future and now the setting is set in the wheel of time world. Like in each setting, they keep all their memories of the past worlds they have gone to- but they gain a new body each time to fit the world they are in, often times (but not always) with that body having a history of it’s own that they gradually regain memories for (so they aren’t fully aware of their own history themselves- at least not for their new body). A selfish and childish diety called “the Void” doing this to them for his own amusement each time they travel to a new world..so they kind of like an Izakai anime.I play during my own campaigns that I host as the void. Jessica is just as trapped as the other players, as my character. While my GM persona is the Void itself, who rarely directly speaks to anyone and is usually hands off.My character, Jessica Vardin in wheel of time is a Aes Sedai of the Blue Ajah. Full Shawl. It’s a funny situation for her because in past games she was a Barbarian during D&D settings and in the star wars setting she was Mandolorian who learned to be a Jedi under Revan during the Mandolorian Wars, and was prone to losing her temper and enjoying combat too much- though she was starting to mellow out significantly. Her new body has it’s origins in Andor, specifically the capital Camelyn, but she doesn’t know much else about herself. The next player character- Arden- is her warder. His body is also from Andor- Camelyn. Prior to this, he somehow kept his Green Lantern powers from the super hero setting in the star wars setting, but now in the wheel of time world he has lost those abilities to fit the world of wheel of time. He wears chain mail and plate armor and has a long sword.Next player character- Mateo was always a talking wolf in past games, now he is an ogier and a theif catcher with his new body. He is prone to speaking in a very slow motion manner- not because he has to, but because the other player character’s don’t know that Ogiers don’t have to do so, so he’s just messing with them.Next player character- Haythem was a master negotiator in the star wars setting, but now he is a blade master from Illian who has spent some time in the blight. He doesn’t yet know that he can channel.Cleo was the only PC who actually LIKED the Void Deity- making her somewhat unpopular with Jessica especially but considered strange by the other players as well. She was usually a mage. Her new body is a female gleeman who has a cloak as a family heirloom from her dying mother (it belonged to her father, also a gleeman, and her father’s father) so she didn’t want to give it up during the campaign I used out of the wheel of time book with Fain. She is also a novice who ran away from the tower- she had gone to the tower to learn healing as she wished she could have saved her mother from death. (She is currently an orphan) Her body is from Cairhien. Jessica sedai is how she even came to the tower and she does not know why her body ran away.I am hesitant to keep using the campaigns made for us... I want to do my own thing. Anyone have campaign suggestions for us?We ended the prebuilt campaign in the ways. I added a brief cameo from thom early in the campaign. (Mateo and Haythem were in Camelyn...Jessica, Arden and Cleo were at the tower..then we skipped ahead by about a week and did the prebuilt campaign, where Logain looked at us knowingly from inside his cage.)
  4. I'm nervous as heck about joining this site for some reason @_@ but eager to make friends who also follow the wheel of time series! My name is Chris, but I prefer to be called Sephi.I'm 30 years old and started reading the books about a month or two ago, and I'm at book nine so far. (I'm a wee bit obsessed). I'm not sure what to say, other than that back on the Wheel of Time Reddit, my opinions tend to be somewhat controversial. (especially because I hate the fourth book's first 39 chapters)My favorite character is Perrin, originally due to his wolf abilities but then it grew even further than that because he went to the Two Rivers and rescued it (Which Rand and Mat didn't do) which kind of made his struggle feel much more personal, in it's own way. Regardless, my favorite book so far is "The Dragon Reborn" (book 3) , but I'm prone to going through these books rather quickly lol. (I finished Eye of the World after about two weeks, the Great Hunt after about one week. Dragon Reborn after two weeks. Can't remember for the shadow rising but it felt like I was reading that book for 50 years and just wouldn't end- didn't help that I was constantly putting the book down and procrastinating from reading it- and often had to force myself to read it at all, because it was hard to get myself to do it. It became an obligation to finish it, all the way until chapter 40- then I plowed through the rest in a couple days as I loved that part. Finished fires of heaven in a week and a half. Books 7 and 8 I mostly skimmed, to be honest. Those two were just hard to read. I'm back to reading with Book 9 though!)Hmm, not sure what to say. My favorite female character changes VERY often, but I tend to dislike Nyenaeve- if that helps.
