  1. Nephuria let each through to alter their concealment's until they go once they had successfully forced their own will over her light touch. It only needed a light touch now, once they knew what they were doing, things became true battles. She smiled favorably at them both as they stood before her as Apprentices should. She nodded her approval tot hem both.

"Good, this is your foundation, your stone, remember it and make it yours, eventually you will appear clothed how you should without having to think on it, it becomes automatic; like riding an oxen, once you learn all the commands and how to use them, it no longer sounds hard to do.

Next we will work on this attitude you both have toward me as a teacher. I am making you get and do better, teaching you through experience rather than tests and written work. I know the Dream well, you must learn to differentiate the anger you're feeling for the event with the person reminding you of it. You both used me as your source of anger, even if only because I represented a block in your training.

Using feeling to deal with others is barbaric, it is like speaking without toh to factor in, just wrong. If you wish to speak...suddenly her lips stopped moving, and her words continued on :then you have but to wish one could hear you. And if they allow it, they will. You know not of or how to defend your dreams yet but some of the basics must be made clear to you on this night, including the destruction of a nightmare."

I need each of you to picture what you fear the most, make it in your mind, smell, feel, appearance, and know you will be forced to deal your own creations, as it tries to eat you."

Nephuria spoke as they created their own nightmares, threatening to pull her in. She sat easily upon each dream, to watch and intervene if necessary. But otherwise she remained floating in the strange place of starry dreams, where she had no body, only a sense of self

  2. Nephuria ignored the girls flicker of clothing, knowing only time here would see an end to that, and tasks that made the mind focus on one thing at a time during the day, soon that would be a part of their apprentice duties, though they probably wouldn't see the connection. Her shirt and skirt kept easily, for that was what she wore, she never thought of herself naked. Even now she wanted to giggle while dressed properly. Of course she did not.

"Feelings here, are weapons, one must be careful to avoid showing too much of themselves to others. You will learn more on this later," she eyed Rixan. Nephuria had felt the girl's will push against her own softly, but before she'd appeared it'd gone. That is a lesson for later as I said.

All three of them would feel as if the world shifted slightly, and indeed they would be amid the Waste, sun beating down, as she allowed it's reality and neither of the girls thought to deny it for it was as the Waste should be. Nephuria smiled at them as she walked forward, clouds gathering from the endless skies, rain fell onto the waste, grass grew lush. "In this world there is much you can change; my Teachers told me I had an affinity for bending the dream, forcing the view to my way of things. I suppose she wass right, though I don't know a true way to find out."

She stopped the rains, the grass remaining. "You will learn to do much here to help the clan. As you found me, you must find each Hold or Sept. Seek them, they always have at least one Wise One attending the dream. This is how we claim an in-claimable land, by being the ties between Sept and Holds. Distance, time, it is of no warrant to us. We pass word, we keep tally. It is much more a burden to have the Gift of the Dream than to not. You will learn to bend the dream to your will, and to deny nightmares; when they confront you.

For now I want you each to stand before me." she waited, and then she forced the image of them both wearing small dresses, there hair in pig tails, and a doll in their right hand, the sign of an Aiel girl Child.

"Here you are still children, deny my authority over you, know that you are not a child, know who you are. It's your foundation, what you must always remember to return to if lost in a dream. Find our anchor, and keep it safe; some dreams hold stronger than any magic. Find your anchor, what makes you, you. Make me see you are not a child."

  3. Nephuria smiled pleasantly as each apprentice entered the Dream. "You have done well so far, let us move to the center of the Hold," she shifted and was gone Her voice spoke to them, seeming from no where. "Seek me, will yourself to move where I have gone, I am your anchor, find me."

She stood alone, looking at the altering carts of traders and permanent residences of the Hold it's self. Everything was awash with strange light, but she was accustomed to that, and the feel of being watched constantly. Her shirt of algode and linen skirts were traditional, she appeared as they would expect her to appear in the waking world.

She waited for a moment, and felt after the other two; should one go astray, she would pull her back here, or send her to waking. It took a long time to learn to impose one's will on another, and even more training to stop it, she could force them from the dream easily for now.

  4. I don't think there are any other sea dwellers among us currently. I have a Windfinder, and up until now I think I am the only one to have RPed in the high seas in a long time lol.

Welcome back, maybe we can find a way to RP together without Rhia ending up collared

she would probably try to kill you...she hates the seachan...maybe we can work something out /ponder

  5. Nephuria allowed herself to smile at them both as they introduced themselves. She folded her hands into her lap and was almost picturesque in her demeanor. She allowed the lighting in the room to dim, by snuffing every other candle with a small weave of Air. The fire in the center of the room seemed to shrink as well, casting hard shadows around the tent. Her face was a mask, half hidden by a shadowed cast.

"Training for the World of Dreams is not something to be taken lightly, I must know that each of you will listen to my words without hesitation or question. Your every thought will be a danger until you can control your active mind along with your sub-conscience within the second world.

The Rules that create our world do not apply within the Dream World more often than not. Time, space, distance; these things are all meaningless there. The world of Dreams is a plane that connects us all, it reflects the living world to near perfection where non-moving objects are concerned. Things like a sept on the move are far less real in the dreamworld because the tents do not remain long enough in one place to form a proper reflection."

The Wise One paused looking at the girls, weighing them both. "To die in Tel'aran'rhiod is to wake from the Dream, not only there, but here as well. Death, cuts, bruises; all of these mortification's and more will be real should you encounter them within the Dreamworld. Nightmares are living traps, waiting to bring those who would accept them as reality into there twisted endings. Much like the Waste, this world has more hidden dangers than the scout could ever see or anticipate."

Nephuria's voice was monotone, relaxing in it's stead fast strength. "To begin this journey you must first sleep, but sleep is not what we are here for. While your body sleeps and you remain in the Dream World, your true sleep is interrupted, meaning it does not rest and revive you as normal sleep would. Remember this carefully, as time differs once within the second world. You could be asleep five minutes here, and spend two days in the Dream World.....or it could be reversed."

"Each of you sit back, relax your bodies concentrating on one area at a time. Start with your feet, imagine each muscle loosening, releasing the strains of the day. Move up your legs, easing and relaxing muscles worked long and hard. Move into your chest and arms, allow them to become limp, relaxed. When you close your eyes, picture yourselves here, in this tent. Attempt to find sleep, and define the thin line between it and waking; it is there the Dream World lives. Remember, do as I say; we shall meet again soon."

Nephuria was long practiced at entering the Dream at will. She was sitting up in the tent, but her eyes were closed. She opened them, within the Dreamworld, her sleeping body not visible here.

  6. So to catch anyone who hasn't read it up; the Bowl of winds RP has officially happened in our timeline.

I will quote the wiki on the trade agreement:

    The Aes Sedai Received:

`Sea Folk Knowledge to use the bowl and control the circle

`Windfinders of strength to be part of the circle

`Use of the most powerful Windfinders instead of the Windfinders with the highest rank

    The Atha'an Miere Received:

`Windfinders could learn anything that Aes Sedai could teach, including traveling and forming a link.

`The Bowl after the weather was fixed

`Twenty sisters going to the Atha'an Miere subject to their laws, required to teach anything the Windfinders wanted to learn and unable to leave until others came to replace them.

`Windfinders allowed to enter the Tower as guests, allowed to learn whatever they wished, leave whenever they wished.

So; more or less that is the boat we are setting sail upon. My Windfinder's name is Rhia, currently docked in Ebou Dar. I am looking for someone who wants to RP their Aes Sedai coming to teach Rhia as part of the bargain or as a bargain struck between our characters singularly: either option is fine by me.

Keep in mind teachers on ships are like deckhands, they have yet to earn sea legs or much respect from any of the Atha'an Miere. I have already run this by Elgee, and the link to the BoW RP can be found in White Tower (RP Div) > Announcements.

If you are interested please PM me or post here

Thank you everyone for taking time to report, it is a huge help when we don't have to go through each RP area looking for Freelander RPs.

Again, thanks for posting here so that we can keep up with timelines and who's doing what.

  9. Nephuria sat easily near the fire, breaking the bread to give them each a half loaf. It was flat bread, but fresh. She watched the other woman in the dancing low firelight, letting her speak. The world was as it was not as they wished it, but at times; despair at being unable, overcame us all. She met Covina's eyes as best she could in the dark, and could feel pangs of sympathy threatening to mingle with her own sadness. Strength was what her friend needed though, not someone else as upset as she had to be.

"Your mind is always on your duties, Covina, but if no one else sees it; I recognize you to be a woman, just like us all. You are given heavier burdens and duties, but it is because you are the most capable: it does not mean you will not face the same challenges that anyone else could. I did not come up here because of business or Rhuidean, I came to check on you and the babes. You have taken perhaps the most heavy toll emotionally of us in this; but you do see things in a fog because of it. I speak as a friend here, and hope you do not take offense, if you do I will have toh.

Your mood is understood by others. They hurt for his loss with your presence or without it. We all must wake from the Dream, but it is never easy for those we leave sleeping. Sitting in this darkness, withdrawing from the people whom love you, and seek to look to you for strength and compassion is not good for you, or them; no one could heal that way, not well. Show them your compassion, your tears are not dishonorable, they are proof of the love you had for your husband. I have never known another to touch my soul so deeply and cannot sympathize there, but you would be surprised at the understanding others will show.

Time alone is good for you, to process things; but too much and I fear your will stop taking care of yourself. The children do not deserve that. Keep his memory alive by the gift he left you, a piece of him to continue on. And come back to the tents, I will see to it you are not overly taxed. I have served as a midwife for a number of years now, you cannot be expected to act as your own."

She smiled at the other woman, scooting closer to squeeze her hand lightly if she did not withdraw it; before turning to her food, wrapping some cheese in bread.

  10. Her form was unwavering as she stood among imagined winds, her white hair whipping across her face and over her right shoulder; her algode skirts followed her hair, riding the wind. Turmoil brooded in her chest, crafting a dark masterpiece of depression and anxiety. So much of her life was devoted to serving her clan, and the other Wise One's that it left very little time for the woman who dwelt within her. How did she feel about the events of the recent past? The toh owed by the Treekiller was so great that the Aiel knew to regain any ji they must see justice served.

The Clan's had not all gone, but those that had were returning now, the city of Cairhien burned; the blood feud paid. Avendoraldera was no more, and her heart hurt. The peace with the Cairhien was no more; a sad ending to the agreement they had made with Cairhien, and the honor they saw in any wetlanders. Once, in the past, the citizens of Cairhien in there honor gave aid to the Aiel during their wandering. In return they'd be allowed to travel through the Waste to Shara for trade; this was no more.

A sister tree to the chora tree of Rhuidean, and the King dared cut it down? What had he been thinking? Four of the twelve Aiel clans went Across the Wall, led by the Tardaad clan chief named Janduin. Being a Wise one of the Tardaad Aiel, Nephuria went forth with the clans; though as was tradition, took no part in battle.

The Wetlanders seemed to fear the weight of the Spears, and formed a defense against them in the early days, but so weak and dishonorable were they, that they fell before the Spears before the Dance could begin. At least, it had been that way before they had banded together. Stupid dishonorable fools, they were not part of this. The Cairhien and the Aiel had Blood Feud, these wetlanders would try to stop them? They sought to defend the King some said, but who knew with these people.

The time it took them to sweep across the land was remarkable, so very soft these people had grown. It was disgusting; and strange. She would never be that weak, or that wet. Rain; all of the time. Who knew there was so much water in the world it could come from the sky so frequently?

When they finally reached that city, the one the Aes Sedai resided within. Tar Valon. The Aiel owed toh to the Aes Sedai, they would not attack there hold. Yet again the stupid Wetlanders did not grasp this, although she wondered why none of the Aes Sedai realized what was going on. Why would they allow these fools to stand in the way of a blood feud?

Armies of vast expanses met the Spears upon the odd White walled city. It's Tower seemed to stand too high even at a distance. The fight ensued, a battle she still had thoughts she couldn't banish from her mind from. That day they Danced the Spears with the best the Western wetlanders had to offer. It did not matter; they were there for one thing, and one thing alone. Laman's head.

When the horns sound echoed across the battlefields tolling King Laman's death, they turned East, back to take leave toward the Three-fold land the following day. She heard of Cairhien burning, and was saddened somewhat by this. A clan should not be punished for its chiefs actions. But they had defended him, thus accepting feud and the Dance. Fools, all wetlanders.

Her body slept now, near the Dragon's Wall; but she was at home, back at the Hold. She sat alone on the floor,, the winds and mountain range of earlier replaced by this, her home at the Hold. How often she'd wished to be back there, though she knew her duty was where she must be. She sat crying, as she learned of the last of her friends children's children had been killed. She felt old, like she was doomed in some way and yet blessed as well. Blessed to receive a long life to serve with, but doomed to watch people she loved and knew fade as if they had never been; seeing what her own fate would eventually be over and over again.

Tears fell here alone where none could see and shame her. She wept deeply, sobbing. She knew other Wise Ones who lived long lives, but she couldn't bring up such a topic with any of them, it hurt to think about. But now, it seemed all she could do. Her weeping brought rain, fat like the wetland's had. She didn't stop it, although she hated it. Hated the weakness of the people it grew.

The Hold seemed unnaturally dark as her mood altered the reality to be so. This was shameful and weak. She knew it was, but she could only hold it for so long. She still had many years before her, and taking her own life would never be an option. She would have to learn to deal with it, but for now; she sat here, in her imagined home and thought about those who had woken from the Dream, and eventually smiled wondering what the waking world was like.

She would be strong, she would make it. They all awoke from this dream of Life eventually, and mourning was normal, but she could not let the depression of it consume her. Her tears were not long dried as she stood in her room, and winked from the Dream, back into a sleep of dreams of home. They would make it a good distance on the morrow, and soon be back. Soon, she prayed to the light: she could not wait.

  11. Nephuria looked at him, as they walked among the populace of the Hold. She was aware of another Wise One channeling somewhere off to her left, but that was not unusual. A group of Maidens passed them; a hunting party on its way out. She looked at the man before her, and seemed to weigh her thoughts and assessment of him.

"Lessons on how to be a Chief are administered upon ones return from Rhuidean; there is too much one must know which one could not understand without first making the trip. You see, even explaining the situation is somewhat confusing, until it is being put into action."

She raised a hand to shield her face from the sun, her necklaces sparkled refracting the light which shone down. Her face was serious now; this conversation was about something that was as much a secret kept among the Wise One's and Chiefs as a General's battle plans were kept from his opponent.

"You dance to closely to topics of which you are not meant to deal with. When the time for a new Chief comes, rest easy knowing the Wise One's will do what is best for the people. Should you be granted with the Trip and return; I would continue this conversation, but as for the moment, I cannot."

She paused, letting it be made clear she would be pushed no farther on the subject of lessons in leading. However, she seemed to feel he needed some sort of guidance; some sort of reason.

"If you want to contribute and help the people as a populace, I would suggest getting to know more of them. Not just more of them as in multiple individuals, but rather more about what inspires them, makes them think and live. Learn how to give advice that is needed, an unbiased perspective is often the clearest, and provides the easiest answers. Dealing with others, and being able to control ones own emotions and reactions to events will take one far in the way he is viewed by others. I don't know what more I can give you at this time, but I hope that is something."

  12. Nephuria was satisfied to some extent that he seemed to be able to grasp very conceptual ideas, without needing it drawn in the sand for him. That would take one far in life, and he accepted her answer with a gracious thanks. He wasn't as hot headed as she had heard others say, he just felt things strongly. She knew well the difference of the two, for she also felt strongly, but over the years had learned one could feel strongly without being forceful.

"If my words held no Wisdom to them, I would have toh. I see it as my duty as a Wise One to help who and how I can. My methods are that people are individuals, you deal with it case by case. One can only do so by getting one on one time with others; such as we are doing now."

She smiled at his joke but replied with yet again something to think on.

"If we did not test one another, we'd never face challenge. The Dark One would pull back his Trollocs and allow us to defeat ourselves through lack of preparation; for that is the way of the Shadow. Then in a few years once we have grown soft, Sightblinder could move against us in force. With so much rust on our Spears, well....I wouldn't make a bet on who would win, and I wouldn't like the gamble."

They were walking into the Hold now, and Nephuria smiled, formally greeting two or three people specifically before moving on. She did not make to leave him now that they were back though, if he wished to talk she had time.

  13. Nephuria's easy manner was unruffled as the man spoke about longing to be what he was not. Much toh was incurred by jealous thoughts; and he went as far as to name himself leading the Clan into the future. He truly had no clue about the way the Aiel were lead; they were not Wetlanders with Royalty, they were lead by a group of women who devoted their entire lives to maintaining peace and balance among the people, while Clan Chiefs decided when the spears would fight and how. Where the Chief was the law and enforcer, the Wise One's were his advisers and balance check. Even in the Clan Chiefs personal life was he balanced; men did not own property among the Aiel; women were the only ones, being Roofmistresses or the Hold's Roofmistress.

She slowed her walk, to allow herself to speak freely.

"Some would say you had toh for being so open about your wish to rise above your brothers; to me, you have no toh. But what you say makes me wonder if you are grasping your lessons of our people properly Namo Shanko. That is worrisome at this stage in your training. I will do my best to give you something of substance while remaining on topic of your question.

To fight for your spirit as you say; your loved ones and neighbors is worth ji, that is true. But to lead our people into peace in three-Fold Land? Have you not learned by now there will be no peace in this place? The Three-Fold land is as it is because we as a people deserve our fate."

She paused now, there walk all but halted as she looked at him, her easy going nature replaced by that of a woman who had seen more than a lifetime could allow.

"The Three-fold Land is a shaping stone to make us, a testing ground to prove our worth, and a punishment for our sins. Would you dishonor us all by bringing a 'peace' with all the other Holds and Septs? Make us weak while our Warriors forget what the Dance is like, and when the time comes to prove we have learned while here; what would we have to show for it?

You speak of leading our Clan into a new dawn, but the dawn you speak of seems like the end of us being as we are; and denying the reason which we remain in these lands for. If you ever hope to be selected to go to Rhuidean, it would seem you still have much to learn about the reason our lives are as they are. You grasp ji'e'toh to from what I see, but you do not apply it to the People as a whole."

She paused to see that he understood then continued speaking.

"The Car'a'carn...is at best the first among equals. He will be the Chief of Chiefs; 'He shall spill out the blood of those who call themselves Aiel as water on sand, and he shall break them as dried twigs, yet the remnant of a remnant shall he save, and they shall live.'

So you see, if we are to be broken, and have but a remnant of a remnant remain. There is only one way to ensure that remnant will be strong enough to do as they must; to make sure all of us can do as we must. It is in this way, we ensure the survival of at least some of us. Peace among the Aiel will never be, and when the Car'a'carn does come; it's to Dance against Sightblinder himself the Spears will head. Peace was not meant for us, not in this world: we can but pray we find honor in waking from this dream."

She was somber now, her thoughts back on the changes at hand; the world was shifting, even Tel'aran'rhiod was beginning to feel..well like it was preparing for something. Her voice held no malice to it, she was simply talking to him as one did to an equal.

"While I have a vote on who to send, the decision is not mine alone. Far from it, I am not even Head Wise One; but I will give you this for your request of 'lessons' on leading. To lead anyone, animal or person; one must first understand them undoubtedly, and only then can one truly understand how to better the needs and problems that plague them."

  14. She watched him send his pet in, and was proven wrong, though expected. She wondered why he had not simply used the spear to pull it from the hole...but snakes had to eat. She shrugged, standing back up and nodding to him.

"You were correct this time Namo Shanko. I would enjoy company on the walk back." She lifted her skirts so they could make a good pace. As they neared the hold more people could be seen at the distance, the entrance to the hold within eyesight. The lookouts would have spotted them some time ago.

"You are to be a warrior Namo Shanko. You would dance the Spears for our people; but why? There are many roles to be played in our society, it is not dishonorable to craft. Of all the things available to a young person such as yourself; what about the Dance speaks to you?"

She spoke as she walked easily beside him, but it was a private conversation, no one else close enough to hear.

  15. Nephuria was alone as she walked through the camp. The night was cold, she didn't care how old one was. She had her algode scarf bundled with her clothes, and a blanket made of fine wool in her arms. Hands clasped beneath the folded blanket she looked like a dark gai'shain. Her hair was wrapped beneath the scarf, and she wore only her necklaces as adornment.

She stepped lightly, but not so as to startle anyone she happened upon while making her way among the tents. Most were asleep by this hour, but she saw a few fires alight; one of which interested her particularly.

Covina was with child; she should not be up this late. They all hurt, but she had to remain strong. Altering her path, Nephuria made her way up hill toward the woman's tent. She approached her from behind, draping the blanket she'd had folded around her hands over the other woman's shoulders.

"I see you Covina Arin Radic-Targaryen, may I share the warmth of your fire, I have bread and goats cheese to share." She looked the woman over as she walked to stand near the left of the fire. Her tears were understandable, but she needed not risk a chill this far along in pregnancy. Nephuria would have made a joke about sneezing and quick delivery, but felt it bad timing.

    Nephuria Sul'ron Raiden

  16. Nephuria smiled at him. A handspan the hole might be, but some of the snakes grew large in the Waste. She always liked making things interesting anyway; if only for her own amusement. She shifted her skirts and moved so she could face the creature properly if Namo were to lose hold of it.

"I will say snake; and give you the pleasure of proving me wrong Namo Shanko" she said, laughing as she made a joke of telling him he had to get it out, not her.

The sun was warm, but she did not sweat. Soon she would have to return to the Hold, but even Wise One's were civilians sometimes. Time among your clan was important, life in the Waste depended upon it to survive. She didn't long to go to the meeting she had in the time after the sun reached its setting point.
