  1. Nepuria turned her back to the girls, as she lit a few candles from a burning piece of wood. She smiled as the smell of chamomile and Valerian root filled the air from her tiny cook pot sitting in the hot coals. She withdrew from her pack a stick of what appeared to be cane sugar, something she'd traded a few skins for with one of the Stone Dogs. She still wondered where he had come across such a gift, but never questioned it.

Cutting a vanilla bean in half she dropped it into the mixture along with the cane sugar for sweetener. Her smile was genuine as she placed three cups before herself, waiting on the tea to come to a boil. Once the bottle whistled she carefully removed it from the heat with her algode skirt; allowing it to cool for a moment and for the herbs to steep.

She smiled at the worn apprentices and made a gesture with her hand. "I do not know how your herb classes progress, but I will tell you this even if it is repetitive. Chamomile is a part of the yellowed flower family, known for it's sweet taste and relaxing properties." she held up a leaf as she spoke, then sat it down to pick up a root. "This is Valerian root, used as a mild sedative when stitching someone up, or to help find sleep." Moving on she picked up the vanilla bean, split long ways. "This is vanilla, it does little more than give a pleasing taste. And lastly" she picked up a foot long cane the had the tip sliced off and was cut down the middle. "Cane sugar, used as a sweetener. Together, boiled down with tea leaves, it makes for a relaxing drink at the end of a long day."

She finished speaking and poured three glasses, handing one each to the girls and taking one for herself. "This should help ease your muscles, for we have a long night ahead of us." She sipped her tea, smiling as it tasted rich and sweet. She leaned back againsta pillow, and studied the women.

"When you are ready, close your eyes, and as we did last time, enter the world of Dreams. Find me here, and we will continue our training." The Wise One's eyes were half open, but suddenly she was alone in the second world. She could see the true world, but was less than halfway present in it.

  2. Amore listened patiently to the teacher before being one of the last to stand and come get her supplies. The trick of picturing herself as a flower and opening to saidar had never worked for her, she was always the bank, guiding the gentle currents of a river. She grasped that river now, succumbing to it before proverbial emerging from the Water that was the One power.

She was so weak in earth, she saw the threads as black lines, regardless of color she watched how the weave was done. She chose two yellow roses from he basket and took her seat. The first she placed the weave on, and the rose sprung to full bloom, then quickly died. One the second she removed the weave before it sent the rose into a death state.

Smiling she turned to the next road block in her path. fire; the one element she was afraid of. Amore wove the fire carefully, igniting the wick. It burned far to fast and hot, wax dripping on her fingers. She copied the teacher's weave of air, and put out her stick of half burnt wax.

Spirit was one of the elements she'd heard very little about, her eye drank in the weaving of the teacher, but it took her three tries to replicate it. Even then, he only successfully managed to field the area around her from the noise of the classroom. She sighed, then applied logic to the situation; reversing the weave, suddenly the classroom was quiet and she felt as if she could hear normally.

Releasing the power was frustrating as always, but she did as instructed, gathering her things and being one of the last to depart from the room.

  3. Nephuria found her way to her tent as night began to fall. The tent she found warm by coals in braziers placed around the room, tended by two gaishain. She allowed them to bring her tea kettle and cups to her, but began fixing her own spices of chamomile and honey, for its relaxing effects. She sat the kettle in one of the Braziers until it began steaming. Using her algode skirt as a mitten she removed it and poured 3 cups of still smoldering tea, she sat a jar of honey next to the pitcher, and did not have to wait long before the first apprentice showed up.

The two had been given single minded tasks all day, it was to help them concentrate on only one thing at a time, making it easier to change things in the dream, although she was unaware if either girl had matched the two together.

"Be welcome to share my shade and water, Apprentice. We will await the other girls arrival before we begin. In the mean time take this rag," Nephuria handed her a damp cloth. "and clean yourself as best you can; it's hard to be comfortable when the days events still linger on the body."

  4. Rixan felt some pride return as Nephuria spoke, but some shame lingered. It would take time for the feeling to go away – it's inky tentacles could burrow deep and hold on tight. She nodded at the instruction to get some sleep and slipped from the Dream into herself. Consciousness only lasted for a minute before darkness took her. It felt sweet, like an old friend. Her last thought of how she must do better the following night.

The next day felt like a blur – exhausting and busy. Though she was sleep deprived, Rixan did not feel tired until she was sitting once again on the soft cushions in the Wise One's tent. She had cleaned herself off this time, leaving the dust in a sweat tent instead of on Nephuria's cushions. The dust had been earned, however, as the apprentice had spent the day doing every task that her greatmother could think of, and then more. She'd only glimpsed the top of Adai's head during her chores – the other girl seemed just as busy.

Now, though, her eyes felt grainy and her mind sliding toward that sluggishness. She pinched herself on the thigh, feeling a tiny spike of adrenaline. On her side, Adai did the same. The Wise One had her back to them, doing something. Rixan looked over at the other girl, relieved to see that she looked just as tired. We can do this, she mouthed, hoping Adai understood.

  5. Amore looked at the weave, purple. What did these other women see? It was obviously purple. She wrote it down and heard a girl near her snicker; she stepped on her foot. That required no Power at all. She felt up-handed for the moment, then childish for falling pray to the girls own lows.

The next bit was an extra and one she enjoyed, she found herself in kinship with the element. She duncked her rag, and repeatedly the weave with greater ease than most. She smiled as she went to stand alone. When class was dismissed she made for her exit. She still had chores to do, and work for other classes.

  6. "Time is only relative to the person; it means nothing more than many years in the sand. If you're lucky, you find the wisdom in it too. That is if you are lucky." She spoke to them both as equals, not at all as a leader or teacher for the moment. She preferred classes taught her way.

She would hoist Adai into the air, holding her skirts in place. "I feel no better for it, do you?" the question wasn't intended to be answered as the answer should be obvious. The girl was suddenly standing normally as if she'd never moved.

"For this night you have both done well, it is time you find some real sleep. We continue tomorrow night" She waited on each girl then found sleep herself.

  7. Amore was still sore from her visit to the Mistress of Novices, but she refused to bend to physical pain, emotional pain was far worse. Her ego was bruised, she'd thought she'd done well at handling the flow of air, such a simple task; but as she entered the room she could feel Kathleen Sedai's eyes on her. Something about the woman was off, but Amore could not put a finger on it.

She took a seat pulling out her writing implements. And began copying the names from the bored; only when she was half-way through did she begin to recognize the names. A cold feeling in the pit of her stomach seemed to suddenly form a rock and drop their. These were all women like herself who'd burned themselves out before reaching the shawl.

She found herself sweating from nervousness, but let it pass, turning cold and goosing her skin. She was the bud, a brilliant orange flower common in the costal areas; she felt herself uncoil before the sun's light. and suddenly as she gave into it, Saidar filled her.

She completed he exercise, however uncomfortable and demanding of her attention it was. She followed the rest of the class in exercise until they were dismissed. She waited to bob a respectful curtsy to the Aes Sedai before leaving the room; she had a few books to look over.

  8. Amore listened as the Aes Sedai spoke, but she did not release the Power. She was afraid to draw in any more of it, but something told her she still had room, there was no uncomfortable prickle across her back. She listened to the rules, and nodded in acceptance. She was about to release the Source when the teacher signified the class was over, when suddenly a wild hair overtook her normal calculating mind. She was with a Sister, in a room quickly emptying.

Embracing the Source was one thing, it had come so easily to her, but now..now it seemed to be waiting on her direction. Feeble flows of air came from the girl's chest, her arms pressed against her sides. The papers atop her desk stowly righted themselves into a pile. After three tries and almost giving up she managed to lift the ink stopper and put it into the bottle.

She smiled proudly as she released the Soure; but found her body suddenly very fatigued, as if she had run all day. She gathered her things into her satchel and turned to see if the Aes Sedai had noticed; and then she had a frightening though, what if the woman got mad? This was simply an introductory class after all. She waited near the door before leaving as she bowed properly.

  9. So I had a grand mal seizure about 7 days ago; I am not allowed to drive for 6 months, is there anyone up to RPing with my Wise One? All I ask is a 4 day time limit be put on posts, meaning no longer than 3 days in-between each reply. I am really bored; but want to write. Let me know if you're interested; I'd like to get some current timeline stuff RPed and/or set up for the future.

  10. Nephuria looked to the girl who spoke, she would attempt to fill them with pride. "Do not be downhearted. I am perhaps the most powerful Dream Bender among us, there is not shame in losing yourself to one of my creations so soon in training. Truth to tell I may have toh to you both for making it such a difficulty."

The older woman sighed, looking at the girls as young women who'd soon be her equal. "If you feel I have toh let me know, and we shall deal with it in a private manner. To answer your question, yes there are ways to tell, it becomes easier the longer you do it. Simple wrongness in nightmares is usually an obvious sign; off colored skied, an ill feeling. You will be able to recognize and deny these nightmares off handedly one day, but first you must learn the foundation of it."

"Once one recognizes something as a nightmare; they must take control of the dream, impose their will upon it to return it to the way things 'should' be. As with all things practice makes it easier. But do not take the nightmares lightly, they have claimed their share of lives. Some can mirror our world very closely."

  11. Amore arrived early to class, as always. She was timely and had found others respected the fact. She was silent as she took her seat after curtsying to the teacher. Her face was impassive as others arrived, she sat alone, as she was comfortable being. She regarded her parchments, and quill, ink, and sand; organizing them before her as she readied herself for the lesson. She sat in the center of the room, able to look out either window. It was calming knowing there was another world out there.

All chatter stopped as the teacher stood. “Good morning everyone. I am Kathleen Sedai and I will be your teacher for this Introduction to Saidar course." As she spoke she shifted her eye contact through out the class, giving each girl a moment of her own. "This class marks the beginning of your journey to becoming Aes Sedai. During this course you will learn about the nature of the One Power, and of course, how to channel. Now, I would like to take a moment for you to each introduce yourself to the class. We will be spending quite some time together and I'd like us to at least know a little about who we are sharing our time with."

Amore stood, speaking plainly "I am Amore Le'fay." she took her seat back and looked at the others. After they were done they got to business; Amore was thirsting for knowledge, for advancement. She wrote in neat letters what the woman said about the Power, she gave little reaction to learning of saidin, everything had balance after all. Turning inward she closed her eyes.

She opened them slowly, giving her oath. She promised to never attempt this without an Aes Sedai or Accepted present, and then she closed her eyes...She was a gentle bank, guiding a river that never ended. She opened herself to the water, as if opening a small channel for the water to run through. She felt the sun on her back, she embraced it's warmth; and suddenly the world was more real, more vibrant than ever before. It was as if she were truly alive for the first time. She held onto the power, bathing in it, as the Aes Sedai stood watch.

  12. Nephuria's smile grew only once the woman was within her tent asleep. She clapped quietly and two gai'shain appeared, "Fetch two of the faer des mai for me, have them stand watch over the tent, after she awakens pack her belongings, set the tent up near mine in the camp."

Nephria turned walking from the tent, the relaxing effects of the tea common to her. She smoked tabbac in pipes, but only with close friends. She made her own temporary tent near the other woman, and found sleep easily within. The morrow would bring the heart back to the People. They needed something of their leader, and Covina represented that.

For now, the putting off of choosing could be excusable and used to carefully choose whom to send. It took six votes, and so she made four more stops that night, speaking at length with each woman within the Dream World. Time did not wait on the whims of anyone. However hard she wished otherwise.

  13. Nephuria nodded at the acceptance the woman showed for needing a midwife. Covina had never been one not to see sense, and Nephuria had counted on that. Given time and then time to reflect, she would find peace again, but only the Wheel knew time, and the Pattern was but it's outcome.

"Ghaul is one of the best warriors and has more ji than any man I have met. Although there were times he could be bull headed and stubborn, he is a good leader. if anyone could survive and still be breathing; well I'd place my wager on your Husband."

Nephuria placed some herbs from her pouch within a pouch into the small kettle, she embraced saidar and moved it into the hot coals to boil as she channeled water to fill it. Soon the scents of honey and chamomile came from the steam of the kettle. She pulled it out with a flow of Air, and released the Power, using her skirt as a mitten, she poured them both large cups of tea.

"The plant will help ease your tensions; the honey gives it a warming feel." Nephuria blew on her cup, before taking a large sip. Chamomile was natorios for helping with sleep as well, although she did not mention it. Covina would find rest soon, and if need be, Nephuria could help her move her things back with the others on the morrow. For now she leaned back on her side, propped up by an elbow and hand on her cheek. Her other hand held the cup of tea, and she smiled at the other woman; taking in the vastness of the Waste around them, and star above. It was true; Ghaul could be alive somewhere...the Light knew the World had known stranger things.

  14. Nephuria stood with a lustrous crown of black hair, done up in the style of Wetlander nobles. Bells jingled faintly as she fed into the Nightmare. She was but a part of it, a part of the hole. She stood near a corner of the street; watching the two apprentices. They might notice her because she was one of the very few not running.

She saw hesitation in the girl's as the Aes Sedai approached; she had told them channeling meant nothing here, a Dreamer held more power than any Aes Sedai child would. Nephuria stepped toward the girls, her illusion fading. The dream seemed to quake as Nephuria made herself real and yet apart of the nightmare. She was near the apprentices in a blink of her eye, hand outstretched. Lightning met her palm, and for a moment light bathed them all, as if it had exploded against an unseen wall.

These children cannot call the skies, they are not noble enough in there own Hold's eyes to not strike down any in there path. This was perhaps too much to start with. The Wise one admitted her miscalculation, and would leave it up the the girls at a later date to decide if she had toh to them. As it was, the three Aes Sedai turned to face Nephuria; the one who denied their power.

Fire exploded toward them, and she stood unflinching. She would teach them what she'd come here for, or die trying. She spoke to them, but her lips did not move. "There is no fire. She spoke simply assured, and within a moment, the fireball was gone.

"They cannot channel, for they are shielded." And within moments, the Light of saidar blinked from them. They were not real, none of this was. To kill them, would be admitting the dream was real, that death could occur. She did not fall for this trap. She smiled at the girls, saying they had done well, when suddenly she dissipated the Nightmare around them, and they were back in the Three-Fold Land, sitting in a tent.

"Do you both understand now, channeling is nothing here? A trained Dreamer would laugh at one attempting to use the Power over the mind in this place. Keep that lesson close to heart."

She folded her legs beneath her in a tent within the World of Dreams; one of her own making. "Tell me what more you wish to know, or if you are ready to test yourselves again; nightmares roam wherever people congregate for long periods of time."

  16. The dream would be askance, in the way of dreams, the city seemingly endless in any direction. She forced focus to it, impressing her will upon it without breaking it. She felt for the women, and began walking in a normal way toward them. The blood red sky seemed to suddenly loom with the white tower standing like an evil pillar above.

A man came running down a large street, she could see both of the apprentices finding their way ahead of her. He seemed as if Sightblinder were on his hills. In the distance three long shadows made there way toward them, three women with ageless faces, casting fire and lightning among the buildings as they traveled, assumingly they chasing the man as he couldn't run far from them without seeming to loose ground.

Nephuria appeared as a woman in the dream, running in fear, although she knew none of their weaves would touch her. She ran, before disappearing to watch how the two would handle the Aes Sedai. Let them see how far they the Tower had fallen in their own peoples eyes. The man was crying. Soon she would step in to end the nightmare, before it ended them. He was begging Adai for help, Rixan stood closest to the three Aes Sedai; she waited.

    --Short description of the nightmare--

  17. Nephuria's smile was pleased as she listened to them talk. They would make the second trip with ease, they both understood so quickly. the Aiel woman seemed bathed in sunlight for a moment, men could heard fighting in the distance, a great battle. she refused the dream of the war, set the place in peaceful hues of what she remembered that winter. The great white walls shinning all the time.

She spoke to them, but as one would equals, she had started the conversation and appreciated their participation. "You each wonder what there is to learn here," meaning the Dream," and I have found in my years there to be two ways, the slower version where I explain every detail before hand, or the simpler version of you figuring it out as you go, remember so long as I am watching you in the Dream, or nightmare as it may be, you can contact me. Do so with care, for I will dissipate it by coming in too strongly; it denies the nature of the nightmare They are centered around one person, unless designed for multiples, a strong Dreamer will end your nightmare by entering it without thought."

She spoke, and allowed the sun to cover the slopes, the snow to melt away and reveal short green grass. She smiled at them as she bid them follow. In short order she was bounding unnaturally down the mountain toward the cit below; she allowed the pants of a maiden to replace her skirts, as she attempted to make a game of getting there, doubling back on the girls to speed with them toward the city.

She would stop the game as the neared the White Walls skipping over the river. Nephuria had simply turned it to stone. "Inside there are nightmares; nightmare that will reveal to you how the Aes Sedai's Hold reveres them. Come with me, but stay close, some of the nightmares in here...well, they are very dangerous. Remember your mind is faster than any Aes Sedai. I speak as a channeler, think quickly, do not rely on other things, use your head. Let us find one we can enter together, I will play into it while you two try to deny it."

She shifted back into her algode skirts, but smiled, as she transformed. Starting at her hem the dress changed, silken slippers appeared on her feet of blue, as a dress of revealing cut donned a body of white porcelain. Her hair was long, and richly brown, unnaturally so. She wore the face of a beautiful woman, perhaps in her mid thirties. A nightmare she summoned by thinking for it as they skipped over the wall into the city. She entered, her disguise recognizable only if they apprentices caught the blink of an eye change before the nightmare overtook. They were in Tar Valon but the sky was red...she was alone. Where were the girls, she reached out tentatively to feel, and felt the nightmare waver. Fine, she would find them on her own, and watch them be tested.

  18. Nephuria's full attention was split between watching the girls nightmares. it was her duty to ensure they awoke safely, and sometimes nightmares had been known to claim those who went into them. She thought for a moment, she would have to step in and save the girls, but each held there calm expertly, dealing with their own fears. Starting out facing your own fears often made facing others much easier.

As the girls returned before her, Nephuria imagined one apprentice dry, not wet by the seas she had created. The other, she gave courage to continue on. It was akin to the warders bond, except no binding was required, she could give them false energy, make them feel false peace and confidence. But it was a false pre-tense. She was more than capable of saving them, but she kept an eye out for the Shadowsouled. she did not trust herself to face one of them here. Not alone with two fledglings

"By learning to face your own fears, facing those of other's should be easy for you. Recognize it as a nightmare, and deny it, force what should be, into place. The Nightmare will dissipate before your will."

She studied the women, and vanished her voice remaining behind to say 'Follow me'

She stood atop Dragonount, the Aiel war still fresh in her mind; She waited on the Apprentice's to appear. if they made the jump, they would find her attention on the large White Tower below.

"What are your thoughts on the Aes Sedai, Apprentices?' she spoke off handily, envisioning the Dance of Spars she'd seen there.
