I would hate to be a Damane, basically a slave after living most your life as pseudo-nobility. Or honestly, a darkfriend. I feel like once you've become one you're at the dark lords beck and call, and he can mess you up on a whim. Could you imagine becoming a darkfriend as a stupid teenage mistake? Then growing up and realizing the fool you've been?

I have a feeling you'll warm up to any characters you haven't already. It's generally accepted that Jordan was very intentional with his characters and plot development in EOTW. It's a big part of why it's considered a masterpiece. A second re-read after reading through the series once is suppose quite the mind blow.
