You don't get it RJ was from the rural south, then ad in the setting of EF in WoT. Small isolated villages do not tolerate outright criminals unless they are all criminally inclined. (Tar and Ferry) For the EF 5 to speak openly about the low character of the Congars and the Coplins speaks volumes.

Each to their own. You may like those changes, but I can not tell you one single thing they changed that I like, for me to like a change it needs to be good. I really get a kick out of the Pollyannaish EF arguments when Cenn Buie, and the Congars and Coplins are repeatedly talked about as at best troublemakers.

Doesn't the Witcher series have a tower on an island with female magic wielders, as for pseudo-religious military orders in white, you can't swing a dead cat without hitting a half dozen of those.

Here is a thought experiment. Change all the names, the characters, the places, the titles of people, ei: the one power = the source, aes sedai = wiccan, anything with a name is changed. Now do you think RJ's estate would be able to sue Amazon and win for stealing the WoT story if they did not own the rights already? I do not, the story for the show has no real connection to the books without the names, it could be argued it was based on any number of badly written fantasy stories.

I'm with Winnower, years ago there were polls for favorite and least favorite characters Egwene was always near the top of least. I've always thought Jordan was paralleling her to Lanfear, and he killed her to save her from herself.
