I found a way of buying it from the UK, all legal, sort of. You can spoof the address and then use Paypal. I did and managed to get hold of it.

    Care to share it??

Sure, I was ordering a Kindle Paperwhite from an intermediary which gave me a US address. So used that, found the area phone code for the county made a phone number up. Entered it all, used Paypal not my credit card, as that would have shown a UK address, and got the book.

The other way to do it, is find say a office, or store in the US, use that as the address, and use Paypal. Using Paypal "hides" your real location.

To be fair this isn't really I suppose honest, but the fact that the rest of the world is "punished" for not being American or Canadian by Tor. If people can pay for it, and want it then Tor can do make it happen, despite them claiming they cannot. We want to be able to pay for it, the series has given many people pleasure, yet because you are not a US citizen you get blackballed. Fair? No.

  2. The sad thing about this, is Orbit never releasing the prologues in the UK plays into the hands of Captain Jack Sparrow. I like many thousands of others who are not American or Canadian but want to be able to pay legally for it. Because we care about the books and the authors and the beautiful legacy he has given us. In the end both lose out. The publishers lose money and the customer loses faith with the publisher.

  3. Been having fun, sort of. Trying to find an online book seller, in the UK, that can guarantee delivery on publication date. Nothing so far. So will most liekly have to get up early and get on the bus into the main town 40 minutes away to get my sweatly hands on it. Then cry, as it will be almost over.

  4. Must admit I am excited. I think I've been reading since about 92, so it's a 20 year love affair with them. I am sad to see it end, but also glad that we will now have finished works in our hands. Even if it does take a crane to lift the entire series. I just hope that Harriet allows a simultaneous release of the e-book version.
