  1. Days and nights still pass. You think they dont have a way of recording how many times the sun comes up? Weak
  2. With a wistful sigh Miryana paused in her morning ritual of tending her garden. Kneeling among the lush foliage behind the infirmary she raised her bronzed face and noted the time of day. “Well time to put this aside for now.” She muttered to no on in general. Two apprentices were nearby trimming back some of the dead plants so that the newly growing shoots could grow unhindered. Standing the Sage brushed the dirt off her green skirt and turned to walk thorough the back door of the building the Sage’s called home. Her copper hair was pulled back in a pony tail and tied with a s
  3. Nightsfire grinned as he approached inn anxious to have a cup of brandy or twelve. The music inside was just ending as he walked through the doors surprised to find the inn so full. Owen was present with Blaeric and several younger Wolfkin had decided to join them as well. Smirking he found Loerali at the bar in her usual spot no doubt already on her way to a pleasant buzz. Selecting a seat at the edge of the bar he called for a brandy and removed his pipe from his pocket while he waited. Lighting the pungent leaf he puffed slowly listening to another song as Lorelai droned on about s
  4. Many Wanderers had graced her presence and most had been confused , angry and in some cases despondent. In Alaya Miryana senses distress and that troubled her deeply. “Child I will not let you die in the dream or even be harmed. I tell you these things to warn you, but I see I have become too lax in my duties and have instead frightened you.” Placing her hands on top of Alaya’s she smiled and tried to reassure the young woman. “I have an idea and would like your thoughts.” Alaya lifter her head and met the Sage’s eyes a hint of curiosity present. “I would like you
  5. Miryana listened to the questions the young woman had and she ached for her. She had heard and seen the pain and fear in many Wanderers but it never stopped breaking her heart. “There, there child.” Handing her a handkerchief from her apron pocket she patted Alaya on the knee and offered her a reassuring smile. “You will not go mad or turn into a wolf. I know it is hard for you to understand right now but you have been given a gift.” She could see the doubt in Alaya’s eyes and encouraged her to take another sip of tea. “Yes a gift Alaya, one that very few people will underst
  6. Kneeling in her garden behind the infirmary Miryana hummed softly as she tended the herbs. Working in the soil brought a great deal of serenity to the Sage and she spent hours here when her duties allowed her. Standing she brushed the dirt off of her skirt and put her tools away in the nearby shed. The wolves had sent her a message earlier that Lorelai was bringing a new Wanderer to her this morning. As much as she enjoyed her time in the garden she needed to be ready when their new addition was brought to her. Walking into the back door of the building that housed the infirmary and s
  7. Stepping out of his cabin into the morning light Nightsfire breathed the cool air deeply into his lungs. The surrounding village was quiet this time of the morning as he walked toward the Ranger training grounds. Passing the infirmary he greeted Miryana who knelt in her herb garden tending the plants. Today he was to begin Medrin’s training to become a Ranger. The young Shienarian was ambitious and full of fire and promised to be an exceptional student. Entering the Ranger training grounds he nodded to Owen who was working with another aspiring Ranger on the archery range. Making his
  8. Smiling Nightsfire stood and pulled Raithgar to his feet. “You have just begun your journey into a larger world my friend.” Leading the young man up a path that wound through the dense brush he discussed the advantages of using your other senses when one was used to relying on sight. “Your eyes can deceive you what you think you may see can often be misleading. By using your enhanced sense of smell and hearing you can discover that which would otherwise be hidden from you.” Emerging into a glen the Ranger scanned the ground until he found a herb he was looking for. Stooping d
  9. Miryana sat in her cabin cross legged before the fire in the hearth. Her eyes closed she was in a deep trance. In truth she was not actually there but away from her corporeal body as she patrolled the wolf dream. Earlier she had sensed a Wanderer was in trouble after being warned of the situation by the wolves. Now she searched for the troubled girl using her skills acquired over her years of practice in mastering the dream. Zie was the girl she searched for and it was not long before the wolves led the Sage to where she was. The girl was in danger of loosing herself to the wolf si
  10. A shiver went up Andular’s spine when Thera’s teeth scraped against his ear and a soft moan escaped his lips. “It would be a pleasure to dance with you my little minx.” Standing he held out his hand and helped Thera to her feet and led her toward the dance floor. A few others were dancing but the space left plenty of room for the two of them. Putting his right arm around Thera’s waist he pulled her close to his body as the music played. She felt good this close to him and he could not help to give her bottom a firm squeeze causing her to flinch. “You should not stay away fr
  11. Smiling Nightsfire emphasized with the warring emotions Raithgar was trying to come to grips with. “A wolf name is what the wolves refer to you as. It is more an image of how they see you, wolves have names for themselves as well and in time you will come to know many of theirs.” Almost by design a big grey she wolf emerged from the trees and approached the two men. “This is Quickening she is the wolf who found me and helped me become whole again.” Reaching out he ruffled the wolves hair and was rewarded with a lick from her. “Most of us are contacted by one or more
  12. Nightsfire covered his mouth to suppress a chuckle at the young man’s questions. Raithgar was a Shenirian through and through and his sense of duty and honor showed in his words. “Lets sit and we can talk.” Finding a shaded spot beneath a large fir tree the two men seated themselves and the Ranger took a moment to compose his thoughts. “You have been given a gift that few can ever understand. This gift will be seen as a curse by those who do not understand it but make no mistake a gift it is.” Raithgar listened with a thoughtful expression on his face as the older man spo
  13. The cool morning wind greeted Nightsfire as he stepped from the Ranger training barracks and peered up at the cloudless blue sky. Today was a day for new beginnings and a lopsided smile crossed his face as he squinted against the bright sun. Anton had left the stedding and Nightsfire had been asked to take over the training of his student Raithgar. From what he had been told the young man was well on his way to being very well versed in the art of combat but that was not all there was to learn. After all he himself had believed that weapons were all that needed to be mastered to be a
  14. The early morning sunlight greeted Andular as he stepped into out of his office and into the Warder’s yard. Taking a moment to breath in the crisp air he smiled as he looked out at the groups of trainees and Warders busy practicing on the hard earth. The day like most would be filled with reports and more reports a task the Grand Master found tedious at best. Deciding to leave the paperwork for the time being he set out across the yards toward the stables. A morning ride into the countryside was just what he needed to take his mind of the upcoming monotony that would occupy his day.
  15. Miryana heard the pain in Cham’s words as he asked the questions that haunted him. Pacing a hand over his she gave it a gentle squeeze. “You have nothing to be sorry for child your questions are ones we all asked when we first found ourselves her. People do not accept us because they are frightened of things they cannot understand or rationalize. You must not let their ignorance jade your view on life.” Taking a sip of tea she considered his other questions for a moment before answering. “You are safe here Cham and the reason others do not find us is that the Rangers led by
