  1. 👍🙄 If number of people posting on this forum is emblematic of the number of people who love WoT then the book is in trouble but we all know that's not true. Also even the people who like the show admit the first season wasn't done well which was a critical moment that likely damned the show.
  2. That's fair as I love the Lord of the rings movies and GoT show but Im sure there's a book fan base that decries their inaccuracies, however this is balanced out by the movie/tv show being objectively good in my opinion. Once GoT turned bad the audience rightfully turned on them. In the end it has to be an outstanding show either way and clearly a sufficient audience didn't materialize to keep it running. All I'm saying is that Rafe's decisions in the show running is one reason I didn't continue watching and it appears as though many other people agreed as it was canceled.
  3. The changes made to Robert Jordan's story are irrefutable fact. Yours or my desire to like or dislike such changes are the opinion you speak of. Rafe changed Robert Jordan's story is a factual statement.
  4. The changes he made, and the additions he made did not give me the sense that he was condensing an existing story but writing WoT the way he thought it should be told.
  5. How can one believe Rafe didn't think he was a superior writer to Robert Jordan when he attempts to rewrite the books in a way that doesn't condense but fundamentally changes Jordan's world and story.
  6. As someone who loves the books with all my heart, I could not watch past season 1. The choices surrounding mat and Perrins starts were almost enough to put me off right there. The show runner often complained of not being able to fit the story into 8 episodes and cut significant story arcs for that reason but had no problem adding additional story arcs that were nonsensical and clashed with established character arcs and planned development. You lose existing fans right there. But I guess you say who cares, you'll never "satisfy" existing fans right? Wrong but how are you going to win over new fans on a series like this unless you can write better than Robert Jordan and clearly you could not I'm with the person that said maybe we will get an animated show at some point that can explore the story arcs the way Robert Jordan intended instead of thinking they can tell a shell of the story their own way. Between this show and the Halo debacle I'm gutted it turned out this way for both.
