  1. Male, 23. I do like a lot of the female characters in the series. I've never really hated any of the characters the way some people really seem to burst with anger over Egwene or Elayne.. actually the one character I hate the most is Ran bloody Al'thor. I've read all of it now and my favourite characters in order would look something like this: (Something like, because things change so often.) 1. Perrin Aybara (GOLDENEYE! GOLDENEYES! TAI'SHAR MANETHEREN!) 2. Moiraine Damodred 3. Logain Ablar 4. A'Lan Mandragoran 5. Thom Merrillin 6. Elmindreda Farshaw (Min) 7. Zarine ni Bashere t'Aybara (Faile) 8. Matrim Cauthon 9. Talmanes Delovinde 10. Aviendha Perrin, Moiraine, Logain, Lan, Thom, Mat (post-Sanderson)
  2. I'm beginning to believe there has never been love between Rand and Elayne, not even a poorly written one. I believe it's all a weave of the Pattern for the birth of the twins Calian & Shivan who herald the end of an Age. How weird will it be when they're all chilling out in T'A'R after the dust is settled and the Dragon Soul is threatening to send them to their bedrooms :D? Well.. Damn. That makes sense. Somehow I haven't heard that argument before, but it sure is a stong one. And here I was really hoping Elayne and Rand would actually be something.. heh.
  3. Male, 23 Favorite in order: Perrin, Moiraine, Logain, Lan, Thom, Mat (post-Sanderson) Least favorite in order: Galad, Most Aes Sedai, Rand. That's right I don't like Rand much.. the only time I like him is when LTT takes over and it's really the Dragon Reborn.. Whiny, misguided Rand Al'Thor bothers me..
  4. Yea. I think Sid hit the nail on the head here. I am on my first read through to, just started this year and I am no in the last bit of ToM, and I honestly didn't have any problem at all with CoT. In fact as someone said earlier, I actually really enjoyed the parts with Mat and Tuon.
  5. I feel like I agree with Renfield. I love the art on the US covers. It's so "high fantasy."
  6. I prefer Robert Jordan's writing by a huge margin personally, I remember starting into The Gathering Storm and I thought ot myself.. oh no.. this is so different. But it turned out after the prologue when chapter one bagan and familar characters came back into things, it was all fine. The one thing I will give Sanderson is this, he writes wonderful dialogue. Robert Jordan wrote beautiful scenes full of imagery, but Brandon Sanderson's dialogue is simply wonderful.
  7. He's Ta'veren. The pattern shapes itself around him, so he can't die because he is evidently needed at Tarmon Gai'don. I mean, we don't know for sure, but Rand seems to think so and it seems he and Mat are both named in the Karaethon Cycle, so it's pretty likely. "When the Wolf King carries the hammer, thus are the final days known. when the Fox marries the raven, and the trumpets of battle are blown." It is a very Deus Ex Machina sort of thing.. but I love the concept of Ta'veren all the same.
