  1. OK, I really enjoyed the last book, but now it's over and I am not happy about that. Well, I sort of am. Everybody died! Except for the people who seemed certain to die! Also, at the end, I started to hope that Rand and Moridin would both survive, just because. I think Rand should have told people his revelation about how the DO can't beat them. That seems important.

  2. I think it's possible anything Halima did won't be seen until later. Or maybe she was just an idiot. I think maybe he she had a half-hatched plan or something... But was too distracted by flirting with/screwing everyone she could to keep her mind focused on what she was supposed to be doing. Demandred did say that it would be the end of her.

  3. I suppose I can vote in this thread, too, since I like women as well as men.

Graendal, I think, wins the hotness award. That's just my opinion. Lanfear probably runs a close second, but Graendal is voluptuous and yummy, whereas Lanfear is described as being tiny and delicate-looking (he says he could put both hands around her waist. That's pretty small). Plus, Lanfear's behavior towards LTT is kind of like a 16-year-old and her first boyfriend or something. Graendal seems a little more mature.

As for the good guys, I think Min is pretty hot. Nynaeve is, too, but she seems kind of untouchable. Tylin get several points at least... I picture Tuon as really hot, too.

  4. I never thought about this until recent events outlined in the last book but the impression given in previous books were that The Travels of Jain Farstrider was a book written close to a hundred years previously. to the best of my knowledge he is not bound to the horn and he is not a channeler that ive ever seen hinted at but he has talked of malkier as if he was there and other things which led me to think he must be very very old. im currently rereading the series in the hopes that i will find an answer but thought i would ask and see if anyone else had noticed this.

also if memory serves he speaks to mat of jain as a distant long since dead relative at some point if my memory serves me.

The Travels of Jain Farstrider were published in 968, roughly 30 years prior to the beginning of the story. Jain captured Cowin Fairheart in 955, his earliest known exploit, and was taken by Ishamael in 981.

    He was probably around 60.

Taken by Ishamael? I don't remember that. Is that in the BWB? *runs off to check*

  5. Not quite in order- some are really ties... and of course they change a lot. I just finished Towers of Midnight.

    1. Mat- Half the light of the world. Ouch. He seems like he would be an awesome person to hang out with, and he doesn't really get as retarded as some of the other characters. The only one in the story who seems to agree with me about Elayne- she's a stuck-up bitch.

    2. Ishamael/Moridin - A really twisted dude. Props for level of pure evil in the dreams he tortured Rand with back in the day. Also cool for being so cheerful about destroying the world, and for the freaky dream-place where the heat is cracking the walls. That's just cool.

    3. Nynaeve- Is never brainwashed by the tower. Also, the whole cleansing saidin thing.

    4. Rand- He's badass.

    5. Lan- I dunno. He's a Lancelot type dude. And he's badass.

    6. Graendal- I like her sneakiness, and I like her POV's.

    7. Moiraine- An Aes Sedai who isn't a total bitch.

    8. Siuan- Same, plus the way she didn't quit even when she was stilled.

    9. Verin- Hells yes.

    10. Birgitte- She's badass. And she can hold her liquor.
