This is a freaking fantastic group of authors. Sanderson, Rothfuss, & Brett among my favorites.
Its for a good cause too, but a sad commentary on health care in this country too.

iPhone without Android equivalents let the Dark One win :)

I personally believe that the DO doesn't care to bring Aginor back. There may be a cost of some sort for the DO and he may only be able to resurrect people so many times (perhaps because of his limited connection with the world). Perhaps he's failed one time too many and he's not worth the trouble.
As for the voice, I don't think it makes sense for it to be any but the creator. But whatever it is, I hope it is resolved in AMOL and not left as a loose end.

Yes - but at least you haven't had to have all the waiting! The anticipation over all these years (I started at around 14 as well, after book 5 came out) has been almost unbearable!

Second, we know for a fact that lanfear was as strong as a woman could be,
How do we know this as a fact? Because Lanfear didn't believe it was possible? There's a lot that the Forsaken haven't believed possible that the Aes Sedai have done in this age.

There is no indication that Cyndane is stronger than Alivia/Nynaeve/etc. There haven't been power comparisons between them.
The only comparison that I can think of is below, during the cleansing of Saidin (from the point of view of Cyndane).
Then the woman struck back at her, and she suffered her second shock. She was stronger than Cyndane had been before the Aelfinn and the Eelfinn held her! That was impossible; no woman could be stronger.I don't recall Alivia being given an angreal before the cleansing (and my quick search didn't find anything on it) but I could be wrong. If she didn't have one, this is conclusive proof that Alivia is stronger than Lanfear, much less Cyndane. If she did have one, that is still not proof that Lanfear/Cyndane is stronger than Alivia.

I don't know how anyone can thing that this looks like a romance novel. After Lord of Chaos, which really really does, this is no comparison. Like it or not, that's everyone prerogative but romance novel? Not even close.

Oh.. and is that an eclipse in progress in the background? "Twice dawns the day" and such?

Best cover art for the print books in the series yet!

Definitely NOT a fan of the Sweet covers (other than tEotW, and maybe Path of Daggers) but this one looked like it was going to be good. Too bad.
I'm a huge fan of Michael Whelan's work though so I won't be disappointed with that for sure. Only artists I would have liked more are Donato Giancola or Dan Dos Santos (who are fantastic and did my two favorite of the WoT ebook covers).

End of July? I don't expect (nor does the post indicate) it will be out before the Fall. They are going to take their time to edit this. As much as I'd like it out yesterday, they want to make sure its right.

Read the first six chapters which were released for free and loved what I saw so far. Definitely like "Wayne" as a character too. Will definitely pick it up when I get a chance.

I strongly suspect there is a chance for Elan Morin Tedronai to turn back. The only reason he turned is that he felt that there was no hope and the dark one's win is inevitable.
"You were always so full of thoughts, Elan. Your logic destroyed you, didn't it?"
I still think the scene and that quote is so important in the book. It shows me that logic could also bring him back if he sees that Rand's plan has a real chance.

Good points mostly, but I don't see Elaida coming back. With one last book, there's going to be too much going on for something like that (getting freed from the seanchan, turning to the shadow, and having the three oaths broken).

He may be gone, but he lives on with each of us whenever we read or talk about his works.

These continue to be so much better than the cover art for the print books. I've changed my Kindle screensaver to have the main series ebook cover art as the images. Definitely will add this one!
I REALLY hope for a simultaneous release of Towers of Midnight in ebook (with art like these) and in hardcover.

Sorry, didn't notice jdskog beat me to it. It is a good one though.

Image did not seem to go through, linking here:

Not a huge fan of most of these, but I do like the third image - definitely a tribute to art of Napoleon as Emperor of France:
-
Demander's rendition of the three Ta'veren is OUTSTANDING. Best rendition of them I've seen (including the professional work for the books, ebooks, and comics). This is really how I picture them.

Been reading this since the old rec.arts.sf.... days. Glad to see it updated before TofM.
Thanks for all the hard work Jennifer!

Oh well - two years and I'm batting .0000.
Good luck to all who got selected.

Anyone else applied for New York? I'm not asking so I can take out the competition or anything... just curious ;)

That seemed to be what happened. Pevara initiated it and Androl completed it and took control.
