  1. A "simple" question.

At the time of end of ToM... Where are all the Aiel?? (there ARE more than 500000 after all)

Illian, Tear and Arad Doman mostly and the number is closer to 350k than 500k.

The "Bleakness" was taking close to 1000 a day for quite a while after the Shaido defeat at Cairhien.

Aren't some still in Cairhien too?

There prolly was but I suspect Elayne has "kicked" them out like she did in Andor.

So why aren't they moving north to the Last Battle?! ((It's a rant - I know))

  2. While Siuan was stilled and after, she could lie. Now, stilling is permanently sealing the AS from the True Source. They can still feel the Source, but not use it, the same as in momentary shielding.

The feel of the source is usually described as a light or a warmth in the back of the mind or behind one's shoulder--just out of reach.

The only personal description of a stilled person is Siuan in her cell: "Despite herself she tried to embrace saidar. There was nothing there. Not for her. Only the emptiness inside..."

I'd say that the severed CANNOT feel the source.

  3. Someone said that when Rand arrives at Fields of Meridor, he has already dealt with the Black Tower.

Right before meeting the borderlanders he comments about great trouble at the place and sends Naeff to scout and contact Logain's people.

During the meet with the borderlands monarchs he declares: "Tomorrow I meet with the monarchs of the world..." -- meaning the scheduled gathering at Fields of Meridor.

This timeline doesn't leave much space for the Black Tower, implying that in the epilogue, the Black Tower issue is yet to be settled.

So, am I getting this wrong? When Rand arrives at FoM, has he or has he not dealt with the Black Tower already?

  4. This is just ridiculous. Look at the map of Randland, how would sisters possibly canvas that large of an area, tracking a small group of Seanchan that leave no trail since they are flying? Do you hope you stumble upon them during one of the pit stops? The odds are beyond remote to say the least. As soon as they left the general vicinity of TV they were as good as gone.

Also as a side question, have we seen anyone be healed from forkroot?

Sure it's a large area to cover but the destination is known. They could wait for the raid party ~10 miles from Ebou Dar in some forest and blast them out of the sky when they pass overhead. They have the sa'angreal so they can strike from miles away. Hiding is easy as they can now camouflage themselves and hide their channeling ability.

Now that I think about it... they could even scout out the raken landing area and hit that, but that's a bit more dangerous.

About forkroot, there's absolutely no mention of Healing it, but it's a natural plant so it should be treatable like any other poison.

  5. I think LM was asking why she didn't tried to intercept the remaining raken on their way back, after the raid was finished, and destroy them on their way back to Ebou Dar.

Well, she was weakened in the fighting, not to mention the forkroot, it was night and the raken were almost impossible to locate(or high enough to be out of range for an attack), and they didn't knew their return route.

And once she was back in the camp, they had more important stuff to do(or so they thought).

I did mean on their way back to Ebou Dar.

"It's dark" is not an excuse, the way back to Ebou Dar would take several days with rest stops along the way - that was mentioned by the raid commander.

Back in her camp, Egwene had enough AS to order around that could do the task, she didn't HAVE to go herself (though she could have the forkroot Healed out of her). In terms of power, she still has the sa'angreal, with that you can blast raken miles high or at least set-up the mother of all lightning-storms for them.

There were many options how to get back at the air-borne raiding party, but the didn't think about it -- RJ didn't think about it.

  6. Welcome to the forum and the series! I'd advise you to read at least the first 3 main books first, myself. Also, be careful on this site to avoid spoilers! Even thread titles can sometimes give stuff away. Maybe bookmark your thread.

    Seconded.

Read the books as they were published. New Spring adds a lot of background info that should remain hidden until much later into the story.
