  1. I think Nakomi is a video game character, a "ghost" that is that is brought back to the world due to the DO's touch on the pattern like the other ghosts we see.  See, Nakomi is an anagram of Konami, who made the Silent Hill series, which is about ghosts.  Now as we know, the ghosts we see pretty much don't know they are ghosts, they just wander around carrying about their days not aware of the living.  But maybe Nakomi is an exception, a Jenn wise one who could channel or a dreamer, so she is able to break completely through that veil and emerge fully into the world.

So yeah, my vote is a video game character from Silent Hill making a cameo as an effect of the Wheel.

  2. Well yeah, I'm not saying she is without some of their mannerisms, but she isn't the wicked witch type that most other reds were made out to be. She's a red and has been for who knows how long(I don't know her age), so of course some things have been instilled into her, but you have to agree, as far as reds go, she's pretty level-headed and objective. She could have turned out a lot worse. Can you name any other Reds that would have taken Eggy's side against Elaida in the current situation?

  3. I do have one question that no matter how much a re-read I can find an answer to. What the hell happened to Else Grinwell? We know she was sent home for shirking her duties and stuff, but why was she acting so weird around Mat the day he whooped the wonder-brothers in the training yard? I know Lanfear was using her image as a disguise, but when she came across Mat outside the Tower she definitely wasn't acting like Lanfear, which I believe was the same day she delivered the supposed message from Siuan to Eggy and them. But it was revealed she was sent home weeks earlier, so why was she still there when Mat bumped into her? Was she a darkfriend or under Compulsion? If it was Lanfear still in disguise, I think she would've acted more normally since they both like to flirt and stuff to avoid suspicion. I dunno, I'm lost on this. I just wanna know one thing....

What in the flaming light is up with Else Grinwell?

  4. There were no Ashies, Mat doesn't like men who can channel, still. It was just Verin. Also, I thought he picked up the rest of the band? (I might be wrong on this point)

Umm...If he still doesn't like male channelers, then why did he go to Perrin soon after and ask specifically for one of his asha'man? I recall Verin saying there were ashies there recruiting for the BT.

  5. Yea but the Ashies made it seem like it would take FOREVER for the 7 of them, holding gateways with circles. And she has a weak Angreal. They never explained it, and yea they skipped a day ahead, but all it took was a day? Really? And it still doesn't explain why the other AS didn't see the weave. It really bothered me how they skipped that part on purpose.

Well if it was an ashie who did the weaving, then they wouldn't have seen it. Also, when linked with saidin, can outsiders even see the actual link if they aren't a part of it? We also don't know how large the portal was. The bigger the portal, the faster it take them. Also, I don't think the entire Band was with him, only a small number. The majority were with the Salidar AS. So it wouldn't take days anyway like with Perrin's huge force.

  6. Just nit picking, but it was Siuan he asked to temper her temper, Nynaeve wasn't there yet. lol.

Anyways, I agree with Barid. We do not know if Eggy will be there at the sealing. While I think she will be, I could also see her doing something else, like dealing with the Seanchan at the WT or one of the Forsaken. All we got right now are theories, no one knows except those working on the book.

  7. Yep. And I think they were all there at Tear as well in TDR. They may not have all been together, but they were all there at the same time at the end. So either one could be Min's viewing. See at SL, everyone had a part to play. Mo and Lan met up with Ny and showed her she could channel, which set her on her path. Thom led Rand and Mat to from Whitebridge and without him they might not have escaped the Myrddraal. And without Perrin, Ellyas probably would've never even bother with Eggy thus leading to her getting lost.

At Tear, We know what Mo, Lan, and their group needed to be there for. We know what Rand needed to be there as well as Mat. As for Thom, if he didn't get sick, Mat never would've took him to the wise woman and learned what happened to the girls. So we got two instances here where in some way, big or small, all of them, including Thom, needed to be there.

Edit: Personally, I think Min was talking about the whole enchilada, the whole series. Because everyone has had a major part to play.

  8. there was another quote where she says "He has to do something but all of you have to be there even the gleeman, the young woman who just arrived stone faced all of you are connected or e will fail and worst than him will fall". I am quoting it from my memory and my memory reminds me of a joke which goes like " I a=have always been proud of two things; first is my memory and for life of me I can't remember what other was. LOL

I think that referred to the stay at Shadar Lagoth.

  9. Rand doesn't really care for control any more. He has realised what he has to do, and nobody can stop him from doing it. He wants the Aes Sedai on his side, he wants Egwene to lead them in the battle, because he will not be present, he will be trying to seal the bore while the others fight.

All he wants to do in terms of "control" is to prevent as many deaths and destruction as possible. This does not require his personal control, he just needs everyone to get organized and work together.

It can be debated that Egwene want's to control Rand, I do not think it is the case, but I will leave that, since it is a matter of speculation and opinion rather than proof.

What proof we do have is that Egwene has just heard him say "I am setting the DO free." She hears the other bit about it being the only way to seal him back up, but these are the words that make the impact.

Set the DO free? Madness, and who can blame her? We as the reader know that the seals must be broken in order to properly seal him up again. (Perrin's metaphor is most apt here)

But Egwene has no such knowledge, nor does Rand explain (intentionally, because he expects her to gather everyone)

The matter of the seals will likely not even be of any consequence. Rand will break them no matter what.

    INTERVIEW: 2010

    Twitter 2009-2010 (WoT) (Verbatim)

    JAY (8 JULY 2010)

Will we see the Dark One in WoT? Will he walk the earth and physically fight with Rand & Co?

    BRANDON SANDERSON (8 JULY 2010)

I can't tell you for certain about the Dark One. There WILL be a confrontation, though.

    BRANDON SANDERSON

The last seals will be broken.

His main intention for the meeting is to discuss the Dragon's Peace. He has no intention nor any fear of being controlled, and I think Egwene knows this as well.

Point being, there is no fight for control. Rand doesn't want nor does he need it. Egwene however, will have to rebuild, and he is giving her this power, since he believes he will die in the process anyway. Egwene is only acting as Rand wants, she is not doing anything against him in reality, he "tricked" her into it, it is not her fault.

This make a lot of sense. Well said. I was thinking along the same lines, but never pondered it in depth like that. Makes perfect sense given the info we have.

  10. If that was the intention, then RJ/Sanderson failed spectacularly. I've seen far more people both in RL and on message boards consider Perrin an idiot than a genius.

Remember when he went back to the TR? He followed Tam's and the others' lead for a long time until Tam started letting him lead. he used a lot of common sense and with being ta'veren, collected a lot of followers. Remember through out the book he did take a lot of advice from those around him. And for the most part, he let everyone do their thing the best way they saw fit, utilizing their knowledge and experience to get things done. He told them what he wanted done, but he let them decide how to do it because he knew they would know the best way. It wasn't until they went save the Children that he started taking a more active hand in how things got done. For being forced into the position he is and having to adapt on the fly like, he showed remarkable talent and intelligence as a leader. I actually think of him as a better leader than Rand, because he actually listens to the council of those around him, unlike Rand(before ToM) who just did things they way he wants despite what anyone says. A lot of Rand's victories came by sheer power and luck, not knowledge. An idiot with a nuke will defeat rocket scientist marines with guns.(Note: I am not calling Rand an idiot, just using a metaphor.)

A good leader knows how to take advice and delegate, which is what Perrin does. Sure, he has made some mistakes and taken some foolish risks, but he's only human.

  11. My point is that the sickness he got from the link with Mori is different from the sick feeling you got from embracing saidin, which had always been there even before the link. I am merely trying to explain that the sickness Rand gets from the link is not channeling sickness, but something else. There were two different types of sickness. The one every male channeler felt, and the one Rand got for Mori. But what yall seem to be saying is that they are one in the same, which they aren't.
