  1. It's not only about raw strength. To whit, wasn't Graendal drawing on a circle of compelled channelers? So who is to say how much strength she had. Indeed, plus Graendal has her own plain gold ring angreal. Seems fairly even - she's facing three Forsaken-level channelers (Talaan, Alivia and Cadsuane + angreal) and two just under Forsaken-level (Amys is a match for Romanda/Lelaine, which isn't too far off Aviendha). On a side note, when Perrin chased Graendal out of TAR did anyone notice that it seemed to read like the forkroot came out with Graendal as she was still spitting it out in the real world? I thought that things created in TAR could not be taken into the real world, otherwise the Forsaken would just pop in and have an unlimited supply of sa'angreal.
  2. Nynaeve also healed compulsion, but it left the person a mindless idiot and they died. She's my favorite, but don't know if all things can be healed. However, I would think it would be worth trying, because even if it went awry, their souls are lost anyway... so Nyn would have disappointment, but not guilt, if you know what I mean. Plus, if they immediately died, but died in the Light, at least they could be reborn in the Light. So either way, it's worth the try, and I'm SURE Nyn will try it. Did the books refer to what Nynaeve did as healing? I think she just undid the compulsion, which is different to actually healing. Kind of like killing a virus but not being able to do anything to damage already done. It might be possible to eventually heal the damage done by compulsion, I seem to recall in the BWB a reference to "Restorers" fixing the damage Semirhage's tortures did to rescued victims.
  3. How interesting, it looks like RJ changed his mind about the one power being able to heal insanity? Or is Nynaeve's new found ability a Brandon addition that wasn't properly referenced? Nyn didn't heal insanity, she REMOVED the taint induced one. It's debatable if it's applicable to normal insanity (personally, I think the answer is no). In context of what RJ was saying he was referring to the taint insanity. It wouldn't make sense for him to be talking about how Ishamael healed LTT's (taint induced) insanity and then the sentence after that be referring to normal insanity being uncurable by the OP.
  4. How interesting, it looks like RJ changed his mind about the one power being able to heal insanity? Or is Nynaeve's new found ability a Brandon addition that wasn't properly referenced? On topic - I recall another RJ quote that says that the Power is finite but returns to the source upon use, I think that the Dark One's prison will somehow be plugged up by pouring all of the One Power into it... thereby removing the OP from the world and the Dark One at the same time. Then the next age (and perhaps more after that) will be One Powerless.
  5. Does it actually say anywhere in the books that male channelers can be turned by the 13x13 trick? I seem to recall Sheriam saying that the reason why channelers are vulnerable to it is because they've been trained to open themselves up to the Source which leaves them 'open' to being turned to the dark. Note though that men don't channel this way, they seize their side of the Power.
  6. In one of Aviendha's visions I recall it was stated that there were four bloodlines from the Dragon. Min, Elayne and Aviendha are obviously three, but where is the fourth from? Something to think about...
