  1. I would have had more of Taim in the final book.  I felt like his part was certainly beefed up for a big showdown and ended too abruptly.  I also would've killed off Egwene at the Eye just to be rid of her, but that's just wishful thinking about my least favorite character.  I also felt like Hurin and Bela deserved a better ending.

  2. Taim was recruited by the Forsaken.  This is stated outright in AMOL.  I don't believe he was a darkfriend when Rand 1st met him, but the same scenario played out with Demandred during the AOL.  Taim was strong and he wanted to be the Dragon.  Taim wanted to share power with Rand, not take orders from him.  He was soured on Rand and was ripe for the picking when the Forsaken came along to recruit him.

  3. For me, I hated Egwene the most. She she had some satisfying moments, such as her death, I could have done without her entire character. I didn't care for Nyneave until she rescued Egwene from the Seanchan and left the damane collared and told Egwene that was justice.

I read a lot of people who don't like Cadsuane, but for me she is everything an Aes Sedai should be. She's powerful, unafraid to stand up to Rand, accomplishes her goals, and has an aura of mystery and unpredictability around her that makes others give pause. I loved her from the moment she appeared in Rand's throne room......(I thought you were dead!!!) Yeah, she's one of my faves for sure.

  4. I agree.  They manipulate people constantly.  The funny thing is, the rumors and everything were true.  They do attach a string to everything they do for you.  What you heard them say in context means something else to them at the same time.  "I Healed your father, now you owe me".

  5. I think people make too big a deal about Nakomi.  There are always going to be questions and theories about a book when it's finished.  We don't even know for sure it was Nakomi at the end when Rand carried Moridin from the Pit of Doom.

It doesn't take anything away from the story to have her thrown in there.  Either way, I thoroughly enjoyed the book.  It was an emotional rollercoaster for me and the best book I've read in a long time.  I'm not satisfied with the ending, but at the same time, I will admit I never wanted it all to end anyway.

  6. My account says I've been a member since 2009 and I haven't been here in soooo long. Looking forward to the new book like everyone else I'm sure. Wanted to say hello to everyone. I troll around a lot but I find everything so interesting that I want to start commenting too.
