  1. Last point - re Amyrlin's anger - Egwene wasn't actually angry at Rand during his visit. She was a bit bewildered by the changes in him, and clearly believes him wrong about breaking the seals, but even with that she wasn't actually angry with him. Clearly he'll have to go a lot further to fulfill that one.

  2. I think the Lion throne definitely didn't fulfil the requirement for that Dream. As ta'verentrapped points out, Rand never actually sat in the bloody thing. And more to the point, Elayne loves him. She was cross when she visited Caemlyn in TAR that time, certainly, but there's no way she would have qualified as "murderously angry". Elayne's temper comes up quick and tends to blow over just as quick. More bark than bite to her. Egwene would have a far colder temper and I think her anger if Rand sat in HER chair would be more than impressive.

Also there is a certain appealing quality to the idea of Perrin being the one to make the new version of the seals, whatever that turns out to be. His smithing background leads him to fully agree with Rand - no point mending something a bit crap, better to start from scratch. And since Mah'alleinir he very much seems to be the man to do it.

  3. As I understood it, Brandon hopes/plans, writing machine that he is, to give Harriet a decent first draft on or by New Year's Day Allowing a reasonable two months for edits and fixes and two more months for final draft polish, that means something going to Tor by maybe May- June. I know the publishing etc takes a while, but I'll be getting antsy if they just sit on it til november. People who've never heard of the series aren't going to buy it straight off, are they?! There's only us and they know well they can charge us anything near reasonable and we'll pay. We might complain, but I for one will have that bloomin' book the day it's released here and no later. So many people have been loyal fans for decades it'd be distasteful of Tor to make us wait an eternity for the last one.

  4. Oh I'm sorely tempted to get that... We're feckin addicts really. Have the lot, have some of the comics/graphic novels/whatever ye cool people call them now, going to get the full set as ebooks, I just don't know if I could get away with a full leather set too!

Of course they could publish one giant book, which would be impressive... Like that 'Understanding Women' three foot tall book pic that's floating around Facebook.
