Horn walked to the center of the Band's encampment, holding a stew pot under one arm, and a crate in another. Putting the crate down in the middle of all of the foot traffic, he stepped up and looked around. Holding the pot by its handle with one hand, he put his other hand inside and began stirring the paper contents.

 

Ladies and Gentlemen of the Band! It is time to announce this month's Lottery draw!

 

Everyone looked up at the strange man yelling at them, and a few came over holding lottery tickets, hoping for a lucky draw. Everyone except the Infantry's recruits, that is, who were hard at work digging latrines.
