Well here's your chance! KISS FM wants you to know about Shane, a soon to be 8 year old - battling Leukemia at CHEO (Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario). You can join Shane's battle with a simple Birthday Card. It may seem like an overly-simplistic gesture, but to Shane, it would mean the world.

 

Shane has alays wanted to travel the world and now KISS FM are attempting to bring parts of the world to him. So where ever you are in the world, please spread a bit of cheer and join in the world record attempt, and most importantly brighten the day for Shane.

 

We're trying to collect cards of any kind: Valentine's, greeting, Christmas, Birthday, homemade or store-bought, it doesn't matter as long as it's a card!

Diagnosis: A.L.L. Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia

Likes: all sports, building things, video games

Dislikes: being in the hospital for long periods of time

Favorite thing in the whole world: Lego

 

At almost 5 years old Shane was diagnosed with A.L.L. After 1 month into the treatment he was in early remission, meaning there were no cancer cells in his blood. Shane's family was very pleased with the early results, but his protocol called for 130 weeks of treatment. Then on July 6th, 2006 Shane relapsed after completing 108 of the 130 weeks. It was a shock to everyone including his doctors. Shane may have to undergo a bone marrow transplant down the road, but the good thing is that his brother Jacob is a match. Presently, there is no sign of cancer in Shane's system since relapsing.

 

 

 

There are cards coming in from Russia, Sweden, Spain, Singapore, Japan, and the United States, but we can do better. I want to get a smile on this little boy's face by bringing the world to him on February 22nd. Chances are if you've found this site you've been directed here by Lydia or one of her various supporters in this cause. If you want to send a card, they can be sent to Lydia below and she will, along with KISS FM, help deliever them to Shane.
