Training Mafia Set Up

Welcome to Training, recruits! Here is where the older, wiser and deluded players will teach you everything you need to know about the game of mafia. The main purpose for the Training games is to teach you, the new(er) player, the things people will expect you to know in a faster paced game with experienced players. The absolute number 1 thing to remember is this: STAY ACTIVE. Post your thoughts and ideas without fear of someone making you a target. You will get targetted no matter what you say. This is mafia and the bad guys want to kill you. Finds them first. That being said, you should refer to the stickied threads here in the Organized Games (commonly refered to as the OG) to research the things you would like to know about Mafia that are not really related to strategy. Nuff said. On to the set up...

 

 

SET UP

 

These training games will have 3 basic set ups to be utilized. These are

 

12 players:

 

set up 1:

1 cop (player who has the ability to look at a player during Night Phase and see their alignment)

1 doc (a person who targets a player during the Night Phase and protects them from a Night Kill[NK])

4 mafia members (as a group they decide who to kill each night)

 

 

set up 2:

1 cop (player who has the ability to look at a player during Night Phase and see their alignment)

1 doc (a person who targets a player during the Night Phase and protects them from a Night Kill[NK])

1 vigilante (has a limited number of kills to try and eliminate the mafia)

1 serial killer (called a solo winner, they must be the last person standing to win the game. They get to kill one person each Night Phase)

1 cult leader (the cult leader has the ability to recruit a person to their cult each night

 

set up 3:

1 cop (player who has the ability to look at a player during Night Phase and see their alignment)

1 doc (a person who targets a player during the Night Phase and protects them from a Night Kill[NK])

2 groups of mafia, each consisting of 2 people

 

 

In all of these set ups you will be assigned a veteran player who will have the task of instructing you on what to look for and the basic strategies (or advanced strategies if they so desire) of the game. They are not there to play the game for you, but to be the voice of experience that you can go to when you have doubts about anything. Also, never be afraid to PM the mod if you have questions about the set up, the game itself or why something you expected to happen did not happen.
