  1. The Hunger Games

Haven't read the books, but I thought the movie was pretty good, pretty much agree with what ppl have said about it in its own thread. A couple of things, the lead female character was absolutely excellent, she helped make the movie great. The cinematography was annoying at times. They do a lot of "walking" cams and I just found that it was used too much.

  2. Act of Valor.

I'm pretty sure there's going to be a lot of people out there that either hated or loved this movie, I guess it really depends on what you're expecting from it. The acting wasn't exactly great, as to be expected since it wasn't real actors it was actual Navy Seals. That being said, I think they did quite well all things considered. The action sequences were a little bit video gamey at times, with the whole first person look. But the choreography was obviously well done as they used actual tactics and stances and whatnot that are used in the military. The dialogue may seem a bit dull at times, but again, it was accurate.

Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed it =) Even with the Hollywood style explosions. I think they did a very good job with the SWCC teams also. (I am a Navy Vet and while obviously I wasn't a Seal, I have put in time on SCAT teams and on RHIB boats)

  3. Your Highness

Crude juvenile humor at its finest... I guess. I laughed at some points but mostly found myself cringing as the cast tried its hardest (at times to hard) to get a laugh.

    Something Borrowed

Basically follows the plot of a romantic comedy spot on... except this one has Kate Hudson. I spent most of the movie wanting to throw something at the screen.

    Season of the Witch

I decided to continue my misery by watching a movie with Nic Cage. I began wondering what a movie with Nic Cage and Kate Hudson would look like. I began drinking to kill those brain cells.

You sir must have HBO..because I myself just recently watched these movies as well...and came to pretty much the same conclusion as you did. Being able to look at Natalie Portman was the only reprieve =)

  4. Jackass 3..ugh easily forgettable

Resident Evil Degeneration. This is an animated RE film, but not your typical animated cartoon style. I thought it was actually pretty well done, a little predictable, but definitely worth it if you're a fan of the series at all.

  5. Maybe you thought it was boring because you were dozing off and missing all the good stuff? Just saying, no offense, but to somebody who has never posted on this thread before and I have no idea what your tastes are in movies...I'll kindly just push your opinion off the table..

  6. Just saw Immortals last night, in 3d...Now, I was forced to see it in 3d, could've lived without it, but at the same time, was kind of cool. The movie itself, while the acting or dialogue seemed to be pretty ok, the action was pretty good. If you like action movies I would recommend it. All I have to say is..Poseidon...man that guy kicked ass lol.

  7. Recently watched Robin Hood (new version)

Not too bad. I had heard a lot of negative things about this movie, and maybe it was missing some things, but I enjoyed it, maybe because I had heard so much bad stuff I enjoyed it because I expected it to be abolutely awful which it wasn't.

    Grown Ups

Another movie I had heard terrible things about. I am not sure why, I actually quite liked this movie, it was funny, but not constantly, and had some good family movie qualities, but not constantly. I think it was a pretty good blend, yeah some parts were so so, but overall I liked it.

  8. Salt

Kind of have mixed feelings about it. The storyline is ok, but quite predictable, least to me it was. Seemed really short to me, lack of content, they tried to lengthen it by making a lot of the action sequences longer and more drawn out than they needed to be so it wouldn't be a 70min movie.

  9. hmmm,

Recently watched IP Man, if you're a martial arts fan, it's a great flick, on netflix.

Red was also a great movie for pretty much anyone.

Want to see Unstoppable, anyone seen it give a review?

Prince of Persia, it was "meh" at best to me. Seems they tried to sell it on graphics, the accent Jake Gyllenhall(sp?) used made my ears hurt.
