  1. OOC: This should be interesting

IC: After a day free of training Aldazar went to bed early, unfortunately sleep eluded him after an hour or two he decided he might as well go out and train with sword and The Power. Grabbing his things he left the Soldier’s barracks and headed east of the farm to a clearance he had made in the middle of the forest for his own training he had made it out of the way of most running paths and other training areas in hopes of keeping it to himself.

On arriving to the area he rid him self of the leather straps used for holding his two swords on his back, then removed his coat and shirt he allowed himself to feel the cold of night. Moving to the center of the clearance he assumed the Void and took hold of Saidin he then wove statues of earth for targets then made columns and steps around himself the whole thing made him as tired as he would be after going for a run with Isha after he was done he let go of Saidin but maintained the Void he then moved back to his things and picked up both of his swords and begun to run the course he had made, dodging between columns, running up and down stairs, striking at the statues with his swords.

The Moon had just reached its zenith when he noticed all of the Saidin being wielded around him, totally absorbed in his work he had noticed nothing, but when he had stopped for a breather all of it came crashing home. As he began to move to retrieve his shirt and coat the crashing sound of one of his columns falling over made him whirl around raising both swords, what he found made him drop both swords. When he had made his obstacle course he had left at least 10 paces between all of his stone columns and the trees now there were trees between him and the columns leaving him with maybe 5 paces between him and the trees. Light, what in the world is happening. He grabbed hold of Saidin and wove a sword of fire in each hand. Realizing this would leave him with no way to do other weaves he let go of the sword in his left hand, then he turned and ran back toward the Inn, there he should find someone that knew what was going on.

But as he turned he found the same problem as before he was enclosed in his clearing, releasing the other sword he started throwing fire balls and using blades of air to cut and burn the trees away he had to move slowly because of all the trees and he had no chance to collect his belongings, if he lived through the night he could always come back for them. His movement was slow because for every tree he destroyed in front of him he had to turn and lash out against trees on either side of him and those behind as well. When he made it out he thanked the Light he had made it and not collapsed from exhaustion in the middle of that. From there he ran all the way back to the Inn and found everything the same as what he faced if not worse and he was all but spent for the rest of the night from his fighting out of the woods. Now he stopped and felt the power being used around him it seemed of the fighting was going on at the traitor’s tree, Aldazar forced himself to a trot taking hold of items with flows of air where he could stopping them from moving. It seemed that after he denied the items of movement they lost whatever had made them start moving in the first place.

Arriving at the traitor’s tree Aldazar felt a shock that threatened to destroy the Void and send Saidin flying. Not only were the trees alive but also the heads of those who had abandoned the Black Tower were flying around snarling and biting at people, the shock lasted only moments and when he gathered himself he began to offer the little help he could with what energy he had left.

  2. "Very good all of you. Just remember, most opponents won't stand still for you to kill them. If you're going to use one of these methods be sure your victim doesn't know you're there. However, you are here to be forged into weapons. When the Lord Dragon needs your services it will probably be in a battle. Therefore, you need practice in such circumstances as well. You need to be able to kill as many enemies as possible as fast as possible. The mannikins on the other side of the water are here for that reason. Let's see what you can do."

Aldazar new what he was going to do straight away but had do some calculations to be sure. After a quick scan of the ground he found what he was looking for, a small boulder about the size of a trollocs head. Using flows of air he floated it in front of him and with fine threads of fire wove a explosion ward inside it lifting it with a flow of air again he hurled it into the middle of the group of mannikins, it exploded with a load bang as it landed on the ground central to the mannikins, chunks of rock were sent into the mannikins. Now to see if his calculations had been right. YES. the closest piece of rock to land was at least 30 paces away leaving no need to make a shield of air to protect himself and no other group of mannikins were damaged as the rocks lost most of their force on the initial explosion.

With a satisfied smile Aldazar stepped back to allow another to take his turn.

  3. With only a little rest after the run Aldazar and the other Soldiers were ordered to stand up again at which point Asha'man Isha yelled "Push-ups! One hundred! Now!"

Isha suited his own words and got on his hands and began pumping out push-ups, everyone else got down as fast as was possible some actually falling to the ground himself among them but pushing himself he started his hundred.

When it was done he stood on unsteady legs and awaited the next instruction.

  4. Following Noy to the next training area Aldazar assumed the Void but did not reach out to the light of Saidin. The utter calm of the Void washed over him. Arriving at the next area he noticed a pile of mannikins behind the teacher he moved into position and awaited the command.

"Alright, now for the next par of our lesson. I want each of you to select one of the manikins on this side of the gulley and destroy it. Picture in your mind that it is an enemy of the Lord Dragon and it is your duty to kill it. You may kill in any way you wish, using Saidin of course, whether it be a simple stealth kill or an explosion. Whatever your little hearts desire."

Awaiting his turn Aldazar reached out for the source, slipping through the Taint which covered the True source like oil on top of water, it made him want to sick up, but somehow it didn’t feel as bad. I must be getting used to it, the thought scared him a little but what happened, happened, dividing his flows he grabbed the manikin with flows of air and held it there, it was not necessary to hold onto it with air as it was not alive and it was held in the ground for stability but he thought he should practice the weave how he would use it in battle, using a large portion his power in earth he made a spike that went up through the middle of it after which he let go of the flow of air, maintaining two flows was hard, he then put all his strength into the spike and divided it into 4 separate spikes that he then moved to the ground so that they were pointing out like the spokes on a wheel this left the manikin in four separate pieces.

Holding onto Saidin he waited for the next instruction

  5. Noy looked over to Aldazar. "Don't worry too much about 'becoming a weapon' it won't be too hard to get started. Your instructors will make sure of that." Aldazar saw Brand nodding his support for what Noy was saying.

Noy turned back to look at Brand and Brand's smile and cocked head made him look much younger then he really was. "Are you his mentor, Brand, or are you just here for the fun of it?" Brand's smile slowly faded and was replaced by his smirk. "Depends..." Aldazar raised an eyebrow and a glance at Noy showed the same expression on his face Brand continued. "...Depends on how good he is. We will see, but I like his height, a bit of an impediment when it comes to stalking and hiding, but the bigger you are, the more oomph you can put into your punch." Brand went on changing the subject "Have you ever killed a man, face to face, his blood on you?"

“Yes†was all he wanted to say but Brand’s questioning gaze coming from those dead black eyes willed him to say more. “There are always groups of men who think they can overwhelm merchant’s wagons but there aren’t many people that can overwhelm an all Borderlander’s group of guards I’ve killed my fair share of brigands.†He took a drink of his wine then to went his throat and went on “As for stalking you can be surprised what some people can do I heard a rumor of Aiel who could hide in a fold of land you would think not even a dog cold hide in and from what I know of the Aiel war I would be accounted average height with their people"

  6. While busily wolfing down his morning meal another man arrived. Aldazar hadn’t even noticed him until he scraped back a chair for himself. Noy had certainly noticed he froze with a forkful of food rising to his mouth. The new arrival had to of noticed this as well because he said "How many times must I repeat it, I only like formalities when it comes to two things, a parade and out on the battlefield. So relax, I did not come here to be caught up in formalities, if I wanted that, I would have just gone to the mess.†When the man to turned to Aldazar he couldn’t help but flinch his eyes were dead black they seemed to take in the light of the room, and strangely the skin around those eyes was black as well.

I will not look away. He told himself, he didn’t look away but he did almost jump when the other man spoke to him "I like you, you have spunk. Dedicated Brand Ishmar at your service. Former Cairhien lord, turned weapon. Age: now 24, hobby's: Killing any thing that moves." Brand smirked. "You?"

“Well my name is Aldazar. Former merchants guard, and I guess I’ll become a weapon soon too. As for age I’m 20â€[/i]

  7. "Interesting." Skechid said softly. "No, not really, not that interesting. But I guess nothing much happens these days."

Taking a sip of his wine the other man then took something from one of his drawers and tossed it to Aldazar it appeared to be a coin but the markings were of no nation this side of the Aryth Ocean "I know things can get busy in the Black Tower, but I feel like you could help me anyway. If you ever need me just show that coin to the attendant outside my door and he will let you in."

hmm I wonder what he wants me to do with this. Aldazar thought to himself. Stuffing the coin in his coat pocket he heard a knocking came at the door and a man entered with a tray of food as Skechid admitted the man. "Dinner, milord." He flourished lowly.

"Yes, thank you." Skechid gestured for the man to lay the food down before Aldazar.

"Right, let's eat then." Skechid smiled as they both began to tuck into their food.

Happily digging into the meal he tried to make conversation “I heard an Asha’man had just arrived back at the tower, and by your question your him, if you don’t mind my asking what did you do here at the tower before you left?

  8. OOC: hmm so much rping so little imagination left i think this is gonna be a short post. since im inevitably going to be late to class i gonna give myself Vykor's punishment too.

IC: I'm late,I'm late,I'm late,Aldazar thought to himself in a panic. He had allowed himself to sleep in and not go out to practice the sword this morning because of the Physical training session he would have today a foolish mistake. Pulling on his black coat as he ran for the assigned area he buttoned it up quickly and started pumping his legs for all they were worth. Maybe if I run fast enough I can still be on time.

Unfortunately he lost that race against time and worse he was the last to arrive. everyone was already in ranks so he joined them taking the last position. Stroling along the ranks the instructor stopped and spoke to two of the soldiers present the words were lost to Aldazar but he did hear the crack of their heads colliding with each others. Then he turned to the man next to himself and barked "Vykor, fifty push-ups for your tardiness, once he's done boys, follow me." as far as Aldazar could tell he was not going to be punished for his own lateness, but instead of taking the easy way out he got down on his own hands and began doing push-ups in counterstroke to the man next to him unfortunately that meant he was also half a second behind him in getting up and following the group for their run.

"We'll do five Koras laps, laps around this track which winds around the entire Black Tower, before beginning on th rest of the lesson." called the huge Asha'man. Five laps of the entire black tower and then they were going really start the lesson!

Assuming the void in his mind but not taking hold of the power Aldazar ran on as hard as he could. He still felt the exaustion from his mad dash to the lesson and then the push-ups but now it was like the feelings belonged to another man. After two of the running laps were done he even managed to pass a few of the other Soldiers the ones who weren't as fit who believed something like being physically strong was of no need when you had the strength of the One Power. Aldazar understood though to be strong in the One Power you needed both. He almost didn't notcie when they were done coming a hair's breath away from into another soldiers back realising the running was done with he let go of the void and all the exaustion he had been ignoring crashed home barely stopping himself from fainting he dropped to his knees and conted himself with panting for breath like a few of the other soldiers were.

    OOC: woa long post

  9. OOC: i'll bear with the lie since i know wat ur background is anyway

IC: "I'm glad you don't expect to be meeting the Dragon any time soon. It's also good that you are willing to fight the shadow with all of your energy, for that is what the Black Tower exists for. My story, much more bland than yours, as you can see for yourself, I am not a Borderlander, and I was not dedicated to fighting the Shadow before I came here. I was found by the recruitment parties, then I was tested. They found that I could learn to channel the One Power so they brought me here. See, nothing very exiting about that." Noy's grin lessened as he spoke again. "We are the lucky ones, we came without any tradgedies, no loosing control of the Power, or being forced out of your hometown. We weren't chased or hated or resented. We, my friend, were the lucky ones."

Smiling Aladazar clapped the man on the shoulder and said "Hearin all of that makes me glad I had'nt started channeling earlier, you see I was born with the spark in me but luckily my inborn ability to channel hasn't been activated...yet. And as for being dedicated to fighting the shadow before I came here I think i'll tell you that I was raised on one of the farms closer to the Great Blight then most would go. So soon as I was old enough i was sent to one of my kandori uncles to be trained in the sword, after which I rejoined my family on the farm and as soon as I was old enough I went to work as a guard for one of my other uncle's merchant wagons." wow I must be in a mood for talking he thought to himself. he had given this man near enough an account of his whole life. Just in time a meal for each of them and what seemed a pitcher of mulled wine arrived at their table. ALdazar began wolfing down food as soon as the serving man layed it on the table

  10. IC: Aldazar looked at the other man totally bewildered, any man in the Borderlands knew he could die any day but this man sounded like he expected to die any day. Light, what kind of place is this. “I don’t expect to meet the Dragon Reborn, I don’t expect to see him even. I do intend to fight the shadow in service to the light though. And if i’m alive and sane I will be on the march when Tarmon Gai’don comes. I’ve told you my story would you mind telling me yours.â€

OOC: wow this was a short post looks like depressed Noy time tho

  11. IC: Taking the proffered glass of wine and a seat Aldazar decided to answer the first question as briefly as possible “Well Asha’man Skechid I can’t tell you much of what goes on here I’ve only been here a short time myself and that times been filled with lessons, chores and all the sleep they will let me have. But from what I can tell this place is pretty quiet, aside from almost constant explosions of course.†stopping for breath and a gulp of wine he went on “As for why I joined you might say the glory of fighting alongside the Dragon Reborn at the Last Battle but mainly I joined so I could do more then stab a few trollocs with a sword. With the One Power I could take hundreds of filthy shadow spawn down instead of a bare handful of trollocs.â€

    OOC: such a short reply

  12. OOC: just to let u know I’m Arafellin it’s in the 2nd paragraph of my post but don’t worry i’ll work it into my reply

IC: After a short wait outside he inn he had been left at a man arrived. He was maybe 6 inches shorter then Aldazar and had jet black hair he introduced himself as Soldier Noy Lugay He showed him around and gave him a quick lesson in the ranks here after which he led him into the inn he had been waiting outside and said "Next stop, we enjoy a meal and chat. I see that you are Andoran by the cut of your coat. What brings you to the Black Tower?â€

“Well first of all I’m Arafellin, the coat is Andoran cut because I had bought so I had a new coat to travel to Tear in it was a surprise to learn that we are still in Andor but I see where the need would come from to keep the real base of operations secret, there is not many Aes’sedai out there that would abide a man channeling. And as for my reasons for what brings me here that’s easily answered news of men being trained in the one power to fight alongside the Dragon Reborn reached me. In the Borderlands everyone knows that the Dragon is the only chance humanity has against the Dark One at Tarmon Gai’don I thought I could help better as a Asha’man than I could as just another soldier in an army".

  13. OOC: I’ll jump in and say hey with a little food on the side

IC: After a day of hard training as is normal in the farm Aldazar was assigned the duty of delivering the meals of some Asha’man to their various sleeping areas last on his list was one Asha’man Skechid.

On arriving at his door he knocked as was proper and waited for the asha’man’s assent to enter the room. When he entered the man he found was blank faced giving no emotions away. Once the tray of food and wine was out of his hands Aldazar made the proper salute fist across his chest and gave his name and rank “Soldier Aldazar†with formalities done he stuck out his right hand “good to meet you"

  14. hey Kalthandrix for the posting wen u signed in u need to click o the usergroups button its on the right side of the screen above the profile button then join the Dragon Reborn PSW usergroup then u should be able to post

    ...SPAM!

  15. OOC: Guess ill jump in now

IC: Aldazar woke up before sunrise a habit which had been needed working on his da’s farm and then was later enforced by his work as a merchant’s guard. He had only been in the farm for 10 days but he had learned a lot in that short week the first of which was a way to ignore the heat and the cold by simply refusing to let them touch him.

After readying for the day like usual getting dressed in the fine black coat cut in the Andoran style he shaved and using the mirror on the washstand to see if he had missed any lather he looked into his own blue green eyes, after which he re braided his hair in the two long braids as they were usually and then tied the usual silver bells he had always worn since his fourteenth naming day when his mother had given them to him. Leaving the room after strapping his two swords on his back he headed to a clear spot where he would practice with his swords until his class.

In his shirtsleeves he moved from form to form fluidly, the bells in his hair chiming in time with his strikes, losing himself in the work he kept going until time for his lesson which he only noticed because of the sun blasting him in the eyes. Quickly he got back into his coat and sheathed both swords in their scabbards and all but ran to his class.

When he arrived he realized he was not as late as he thought he would have been arriving before his other class mates. On arriving he made the proper salute fist across his chest and said “Soldier Aldazar here for the lesson†after which he stepped back and waited for his other classmates

When everyone had arrived the teacher said loudly enough to be heard "This class will cover the basics of using Saidin as a weapon, both offensively and defensively. We will start with something relatively simple, wards. Wards can be used to do almost anything, you are limited merely by your imagination and ability. Let's see what you can do."

Light, what am I supposed to do? Taking hold of the true source took two tries because he was panicked. He wove awkwardly making the only ward he knew well enough to perform alone, it was a ward useful for if you didn’t trust your sleeping companions, made to cover an area so that if someone moved inside you would be awoken immediately after he finished he waited for the next instructions.
