  1. If the wheel stops spinning, the pattern will stop repeating itself over and over and flow in an ever changing line instead, allowing for true evolution instead of repetitive evolution.
  2. I just re-read the battle of Dumai's Wells and it got me thinking what happens to the warder of a stilled sister? The two events that come to mind with stilling happen there and when Siuan is deposed. For Siuan and Leanne their warders were killed in the battle, and I didn't see any mention of what happened the the warders of the stilled sisters at Dumai's. So is the warder bond broken? Does the sudden break cause as much emotional harm to the warder as it does the sister? Just curious if there is a scene I can't think of that answers this, or if RJ or BS ever answered the question.
  3. Is LTT the only other Dragon that we know by name? Do the Dragons always come from the same area of Randland? It just seems odd that given the size of the world, two Dragons in a row came from the same geographic region. If the Dragon were to be spun into Seanchan or the Land of Madmen, would anyone outside of that area even know about it? Anyway, just a thought as I am re reading through the series.
  4. I understand that there are some things that we as the reader are just not meant to know, but I'm curious where exactly the Chosen went when they were sealed away by LTT. How exactly did he and the 100 seal them away? Were their bodies physically removed from our universe, or just their souls? When they escaped, where did they appear? Shayol Ghul, or some random spot in the world? Did they all come out at the same time? How long before the events of TEotW did they first escape? Is their escaping related to the seals breaking? Like I said, I know most of this is information we simply aren't privy to, but has any of this been discussed by RJ, or mentioned in the book and I just don't recall?
  5. I think there may a difference between the Dark One's purpose, and the DO's goal or agenda. His purpose, given to him by the Creator, may be to give balance to the universe as in good/bad, although that may be beyond even the DO's understanding. I guess, what I am wondering boils down to, Does the DO want to destroy everything, destroy the wheel leaving the pattern intact, or rule the world in his own evil way?
  6. On my re-read throughs I have found that I end up skimming a few of the more slow moving chapters or story arcs. Early on in the books, it is the girls with Valen Luca's circus, then later, any chapters with Faile at the Shaido camps. I know how each storyline resolves, and it moves things along for me.
  7. Hello all, I am long time reader, but new to the forums. I am currently in my 4th (I think) readthrough, and I am working on focusing on the nature of the more existential elements of the series this time, so I will be asking a lot of thoughts concerning the nature of the Creator/DO, the pattern/wheel, the bore/DO's prison, and that sort of thing. First, what do you see as the Dark One's true agenda? As I understand it, the pattern is made as a wheel destined to repeat itself over and over for all eternity. Perhaps the dark one doesn't necessarily want to destroy the pattern, but just the Timewheel itself, creating more of an ever evolving Timeline instead. I believe Moridin may be the only person who grasps this. While I don't necessarily agree with the "evil" means to get to that end, I can at least sympathize with the goal. Any thoughts to this?
