To CSMOPTOP The Eye of the World is the conclusion of the 1st book. I don't know maybe you picked up the series after book one. But it is a major event in the series... I mean the 1st book was name Eye of the World... I for one am glad Race has not written it out or is planning to gloss over it.

I just watched ep 6. Every episode is worse and worse. I can't stand any of the characters except for Lan and maybe Loial and possibly Egwene. Stuff just keeps getting dropped with no context. In the show, what's the Eye of The World to which they are doing? I have no idea, nor do I care. The whole thing is creepy and disturbing. Hollywood has killed yet another classic.

  3. Okay so I went back and watched it again. I intentionally tried to disassociate the show from the books and watched it for its own storyline.

Doing so I can say if I had no idea about the books I would be a huge fan of this series. I have a clear view of the direction each character is currently headed. It feels like you will see a complete world once this is complete. Not an easy task to visually accomplish.

I was upset over over RJ's vision being destroyed, then I remembered (thanks to someone mentioning it) RJ sold the WoT and on top of that he was going to destroy the notes so his books would never be completed...

Yeah I am over it now and just want to see this turn out well, it is hard to find any good Sci-fi or Fantasy content.

  4. Someone said the Books are from Rands POV, that is just silly, there are different character arcs throughout the book series. I personally love the Perrin and Mat characters and their side stories. The first season could have easily stayed closer to the books and opened up each character as they were introduced. To add non canon characters and cut major plot points just seems like Rafe wanted to do his own story not the WoT story.

  5. Okay I can respect that. So I will say this, I could never be happy that someone took my work and twisted and turned it so badly that without the name and the characters it would be unrecognizable.

I truly hope the series is a success. I hope people love watching it. I am delighted when entertainment can give people a moments reprieve from their daily lives.

I just know that for me I had high hopes of seeing the Wheel of Time expressed on film in a way that remained much closer to the original source material.

  6.   1st I knew this book series could never be perfectly transitioned to film. But I thought with all the technical advances it would try to stay true to the books. This is a terrible disappointment.

At some point I hope he tries to redeem the integrity of Robert Jordan's vision.

That said, I love the sets, special effects, and the cast (except for Thom Merlin) . Which I must say surprised me. Because the books described the characters so well.

I plan to watch the series but to ignore it was based on one of the greatest fantasy series ever written.

I hope all enjoy it, but if you have not read the books please do so. Otherwise this show will taint the experience.

  7. I don't care how big the task is. If he was not going to maintain the integrity of the books he should not have taken on the task at all!

Their has been a lost opportunity that will probably never be achieved now. The scenes are beautiful, the cast well chosen, but this would have Robert Jordan in a rage to see his books, his story telling genius tossed aside to have this farce be used to stand in its place.
