I don't know if that bothered me as so much as the fact they kept name-dropping this "Eye of the World" and just wondering: "but what is it?" About halfway through I was plucking my stubble and by the end was grateful just to find out what it was. When the two Forsaken showed up, I was so interested in the Eye is was just like "Oh, okay, bad guys."

Well, nuts. I know Moraine and Lan are cool, even though EOTW is playing them up as being untrustworthy, but I guess I get to enjoy knowing Rand as an unreliable narrator. Gotta say, only eight chapters in, and Mat`s my favorite with Egwene and Nynaeve being my least favorite, I honestly prefer Narg over them.

Deadrabbit here. Welcome aboard, I just joined meself, I heard about this book from another writer but when I heard it was fourteen books long I kicked the can down the curb for a while. But, with the advent of the show and the inevitable spoilers, I thought "what the hell" and have taken the plunge. I am currently on the first book, and have finished the prequel (which I hope didn't spoil too much). Where are you at right now?

I'm DeadRabbit23, a first time reader of the Wheel of Time. I have read ASOIAF, LOTR, and the first two Witcher anthologies. I am longtime Transformers fan whose first exposure to fantasy were my father`s beat up paperbacks of the Silmarillion, Lord of the Rings, and the Iron Tower Trilogy, the last of which is my single favorite series to this day. I have already finished The New Spring and seven chapters in to Eye of the World and I am loving what I see. I'll be reading this in between many other books, just to take it slow.

I look forward to hanging with you guys and experiencing this world.
