No argument from me. I was in the "what about Egwene" camp until this so, then this came out, and I scratched my chin and muttered "well played". I first read MoL as a 40-something man. I got misty when Verin died (see badass Brown), but when Egwene spent herself wielding (and becoming quite literally) the Flame of Tar Valon, I had to put the book down for an hour before my "allergies" subsided enough for me to continue. Mostly because what the Tower and the land lost that she had yet to discover and teach...
