The issue isn't about taking out sub-plots, the real issue is with REMOVING all the re-explanations of earlier-identified people/places/events. When readers were experiencing the books with 1-4 year intervals between releases, I suppose the "review" material is helpful for more readers than not, however, now that the series is finished, if one were to read (or re-read) all the way through, it seems to me that at least 40% of all the books 5-13 could be left out... for instance, and honestly, how many times do we need to re-learn what an aes sedai is?? For me, it's TRULY unbearable to re-hash all of Jordan's "filler" that he used just to drag out the story and sell more books.
