  1. "Wherever this is its no Stedding. We couldn't be here if it was." "I.." Ashrak started before Covai began speeking again. "No offense intended, I'm just stating some facts." Ashrak was only going off of what he had read about steddings being peaceful in comparison to this place but Covai quickly continued. "Tell me Ashrak, does anything feel odd to you at the moment? Out of shape, misplaced...or just not as it should be?"

"Yes actually" he replied rather sarcastically, "how about everything. Like how you and I came to be in a Deserted Black Tower that doesnt make much sense, and how that many trollocs got this far south without being noticed. While we were in town I noticed that some of the doors and windows seemed to open and close by themselves. What is gong on?" He asked his confusion obviously bothering him to a point beyond annoyance and bordering on curiosity

OOC sorry took so long had an argument between my car and someone elses, no one won

  2. The tone was clear, it was like Covai was Storm Leader again, Ashrak never found out what exactly happened as to why Covai lost the position but he would never ask.

Ashrak was even more confused now than he was when he walked out into the streets and saw Covai alone against a horde of Trollocs. Everything looked real enough to him, real enough to kill anyway. And it was probably the best illusion he had ever scene.

"If it is an illusion it is probably the best I have ever scene, to bad we cant just turn them all into butterflys" Ashrak turned his back on the horde to explain "but I only know of one place that these abominations would not enter. I got lost in the Black Hills as a child and found the most peaceful area of the woods, almost as if nature itself was alive, a....." Ashrak looked around and noticed that he was surrounded by trees and Covai, the Trollocs, and the Tower was gone. "Ok now I am really confused, I was going to say and now I know it is a Stedding but what happend to everything else"

Ashrak sat down and waited for Covai to find him, Covia was stronger in the power and more experienced, Ashrak just took in his surroundings, the trees, the butterflies and waited.

  3. Name Ashrak Delin

    Age: mid twenties

    Rank: Ashaman

6'2" medium build, blonde hair and blue eyes

    Background:

He has a cousin Gareth Galen former warder who has left and joined the Dark Side. As youngsters before they both left Caemyln Ashrak was a bit of a womanizer which now in his later years has caused him to have a deeper respect for them wanting to atone somewhat for the way he has previously treated women (nothing bad just womanizing). He was recruited by a group of men in Caemyln after he burned down is own house killing his mother, and has never forgiven himself for the death of his mother.

Ashrak has always been a student of war. As a child he studied with the caemlyn guard, and as an adult he has read every book on weaves and war that the Black Tower has. He is also facinated with the power in general how it works both Saidar and Saidin. He was given the rank Ashaman after the battle for the Stone of Tear.

As Aes Sedai go he would treat them well, and as long as they kept a civil tone and manner him he would keep the same with them. Unlike most Ashaman he is much more facinated with Aes Sedai and their ability to manipulate Saidar than he is afraid or wary of them, which would cause him to treat them well, almost like a sister or loved one than a prisoner. In order to study how they use the power and how the two would interact when a man and woman link. Ashrak would get along with any ajah. The Politics of the ajahs would not disuade him or change the way he looked at the Aes Sedai

  4. "Ok very good noone got caught, I know I didnt give you many directions and there was a reason, I wanted to see how inventive you all were. There are a number of known weaves which you will be taught but how do you think those weaves were discoverd, by chance?" Ashrak asked and looked over his assembled class in the wooded clearing. It was just after sunrise and they had met and were going to be there all day so Ashrak told them all to eat before they came, but only some of the men brought food as a forsight to lunch. "Those weaves have been discovered by those that expeerimented with Elemental mixing and manipulation. This class is to prepare you to both be able to handle the complex weaves of the Power and so you may one day discover your own weaves."

"Today I am going to go through some basic advanced weaves, that we will practice out here, they are not designed for combat but for those of you that are invintive, nothing is impossible."

The next few hours were full of Weaves several wards, explosions, illusions, rolling fog, and other assorted weave. After their break for lunch Ashrak stood back up "Ok for the rest of the day you will practice what I have taught you, I will help you when you have a problem and I will guide you but I also want you to try to work out problems on your own before you ask for help.

OOC: Go through the list off weaves on the BT site and start weaving, use any noncombat weave up to skill 16, be invintive and have fun

  5. He was standing on the precipeice of a mountain, all around him was a black mist churning and bubbling, it was pure evil, so far below him was fire and molten earth, certain death if he fell. Around him the wind howled chilled him to the bone, and the rain felt as ice adding to the chill. If he stayed up here he would certainly die, but if he fell he would die too, he was at an impass. Sudenly the earth shook and he fell. Down down he fell he fell for what seemed like an eternity. He was only a few feet from the ground, the heat already melting his skin, when above all things he wished he was back in the Tower.

He jumped out of his bed so fast he hit the wall. He backed up and rubbed his nose which at first didnt seem to hurt, which he found very strange and almost like he hit the wall again the pain flooded his face. He rubbed his check and as the pain subsided Ashrak looked around. His room was just as he had left it except almost blurry for some reason and a little faded. His door opened and shut on its own and his chair was not where he had left it. Confusion grabbed a hold of him, which had gotten him into trouble before. A mystery was something that he could not turn down. The faded and muddled light that didnt seem to come from anywhere, the self moving doors, all of it was exciting him. The usual bustle of activity in the day was silent another oddity. Ashrak walked outside and started to look around, saw Covia accross the street, a masked woman hidding further down the street, and what could only be called impossible as a horde of Trollocs and two Myrrdraal appeared out of thin air heading straight for Covia. Ashrak called out to Covia and started to run as fast as possible to him, knowing they stood a better chance together since they seemed at first glance to be alone. "Covia what in the name of the Creator is going on here" Ashrak asked as he stood next to the former Storm leader.

OOC: sorry for the wait got called out of town on buisness last week on an emergency had to leave immediatly.

  6. The journey through the trees swept by at a blur, the horses pushed the earth behind them as they rode towards the city. As they emerged into the clearing Gareth caught sight of the gleaming castle and the bustling crowds outside its walls. The crowd looked almost foreign to him, it had been a long time since he had been here. The flags waving in the cool breeze brought back memories of his childhood, he could almost here the clanging of the swords of his youth, and the screams of his family years later. They echoed in his mind every time he came to the city, thank the Great Lord the screams didnt stay but faded again to memory.

Gareth followed Ranulf around to one of the smaller gates along the walls to avoid the crowds. As they aproached one of the guards called out the presence of riders in a voice that sounded a littel weak for command. Gareth noticed a slight shine to the Dreadlords eye as he turned to him “Welcome tae Andor.†he said, obviously Ranulf had enjoyed the ride.

"It’s not my first time to come here" Gareth said in reply, keeping the knowledge about his parents a secret for now, and trying to forget about the screamsno need for this man to know everything about my past just yet He told himself. He always found it less than humorus that the hundreds he had killed in cold blood only those few that were his first still cried in his head.

They were stopped by one of the younger soldiers with a command to halt. Which itself was rather amusing, seeing that Ranulf and himself were the highest ranking humans next to Rahvin in the city. Not to mention Ranulf could probably rip the whole wall apart without breaking a sweat. Gareth kept his mouth shut though as Ranulf dealt with the young man and was finally recognized by one of the older Soldiers. None here were old enough to recognize himself but they were bound to meet at least one. Even though Rahvin had declared his crimes forgiven and the bounty on his head removed Gareth still was not very welcome in the city by those that he had crossed in his escape

Ranulf smile at Gareth which was shocking and showed on his face, not obviously but enough that Ranulf had probably caught it. Gareth caught the omision of his introduction which didnt bother him, Ranulf had probably thought it best that his identity remained secret for now. Rahvin was not in the Castle but hopefully would return shortly. "Let’s go.†Ranulf said as he hopped from his horse. Gareth dismounted and handed his reigns to the soldier. Gareth readjusted his swordbelt and walked towards the castle following Ranulf, he was home.

  7. yes at Dragonmount there are no channeling Ogier, but if you want a channeling Ogier Character go to www.mirrorsofthewheel.com and go register at visions, there are channeling Ogier allowed there. But you shouldnt leave DM, just register a character there also

  8. The change from one place to another was always a little off to Gareth. He found it most disconcerting that one of these men could go anywhere they wanted without warning. They were in the forest and their destination was on the horizen. The castle of Andor loomed far ahead but the call of nearby horses told of a short trip. He wondered why they traveled so far from the Castle, Gareth had assumed they would travel directly to Rahvin.

A cooling wind blew through the trees and ruffled Gareths hair as he looked for the horses. “We halt ‘ere. Follow me.†Ranulf said. They traveld only a few steps before the horses were visible tied to a great oak tree.“We ride for Castle Andor.†Gareth walked over and mounted his horse, almost before he was settled Ranulf yelled to him, “Follow me. Hyaaa!!†Dust rose as Ranulf galloped off, Gareth smiled to himself, grabbed the reigns and gallooped off after Ranulf. This horse was not as strong as Night Shadow, his own warhorse, but until his army arrived it would have to do.

  9. As Ashrak watcheed from behind the tree hidden by illusion he thought they handled themselves quite well until the end that is. They seemed a little arrogant granted they were right it was an illusion but that meant nothing Ashrak grasped the source and although the students would feel him channeling they expected him to be out here waiting for them. He walked out from behind the tree where he was waiting for them. He walked over and looked the two that had stood over evaluating them, and waited for the other the one name Rion to get off the ground and walk over. Once the three were assembled in a line Ashrak stepped back from them so that they could all see him well.

"You did very well in recognizing it was an illusion but what if I had been a dreadlord, you all would have been dead before you knew that the illusion was a trap. Wielding Saidin is not only about your power but your skill and realizing what you are about, and whatever you do face your death when you have concquerd your fear of death you will never run away. Even the Dragon can die if his guard is down. Today we are going to learn about more advanced weaves and ways to intigrate the five powers for more powerful weaves but we are not going into combat not yet at least. First you learn to use your brain then your brawn. Tomorrow I want you to cause mischief around the farm without being caught, I will be watching from the shadows but you wont see me."

It was night before Ashrak sent them off to their beds for sleep, it had been a long day and they were all hungry and tired. After Dinner Ashrak headed straight to bed he would be up before any of the students and waiting for them.

OOC: ok go through some element meldings and learning weaves if ya want but the main focus is on using the weaves, and remember you arnt Ashaman so someone will catch you eventualy

  10. Sparks flew, Gareth hated these midnight intrusions, the first had been by a Myydrall many years ago after he had first left the Warders yard. This man however was not a Creature of the Dark Lord but he had an air of confidence what appeared to Gareth to be arogance. But Gareth was not one to underestimate people, even those that interupted his sleep. The ammused look on his face was insulting as if the man thought he deserved to be obeyed, Gareth wanted to run his sword through the mans throat but if the man was here then Gareth was being summoned there was no other explanation, so he sent the girl away.

After the girl had left the man looked into the fire and the flames lept and roiled as if they lived, which made this man a Dreadlord. However if this man however old he was, Gareth could never tell since some were old and some were young, thought he could intimidate Gareth by showing his Power he was sadly mistaken, he grunted aloud and rolled his eyes at the man. He had spent his entire life around Aes Sedai and he had delt with many Dreadlords, this one did not scare him.

Gareth nodded to the man called Ranulf when he said Rahvins name, his master knew he was coming, Gareth expected nothing less of the man he had sworn to defend and serve. He looked outside as he rose to get dressed, the moon was fading from the sky heralding the nearness of morning but the sun had not yet rising over the horizen, and the streets were still empty of citizens.

Gareth stretched his back and grabbed his breeches from the floor "My men are already on their way to the city to resupply, I rode on ahead to meet with Rahvin before they arrived. I am prepared to meet our Lord and Commander now." Gareth grabbed his swords straped them on and stepped through the gateway.

  11. OOC: after we finish this class I will do the advanced offence defence calss

Yet another class was to begin today, an array of Dedicated needing to learn the advanced manipulation of the power. Something that Ashrak had some little experience in. He smiled to himself as he ventured over to the training area, he told the Dedicated to meet him in a clearing well away from the Tower. Ashrak didn’t want any of the lovely buildings to be hurt, they had already rebuilt the inn more than it should have been, and Ashrak didn’t want his class burning it down. The sun was a bright fireball in the sky that reminded him of his early days in training when forming a ball took all his strength. It was a warm day, there was little in the way of a breeze but the temperature didn’t bother him, as it wouldn’t bother the Dedicated, they had already learned how to ignore the temperature. But other things they would not be prepared for.

Ashrak sat near the edge of the clearing that they were supposed to meet in and wove his weaves of illusion. This was actually the first weave that he had even used although he had altered it over time and changed so that it was more real. The Trolloc that he summoned was very large and although the sun did not glint off the sword it held it looked solid enough. It was taller than any person in the tower, with the hooves of a horse the head of a pig but the horns of a ram. The cauldron he summoned beside the trolloc was easy enough, large and black with the image of an arm sticking out the top even the image of fire beneath it was easy, altogether not requiring much detail. He would not be able to summon a smell but no one would notice, at least Dedicated would not notice the lack of smell. Ashrak slunk back into the trees where he would not be seen wove the Power to hide himself and released the source, and waited to see the reaction of the students when they arrived. This was the reason they had been told to arrive together, he wanted to observe their reactions and if they acted together or independently and even if they froze.

OOC: ok arrive together and post your reactions

  12. ok that will work I was actually going to try and get a Dedicated to run a Soldier class with me just being there as an overseer and guide for the Ded Teacher and then Teach a Dedicated Class myself, I was going to wait until after this weekend to start the classes.

So this weekend Asfaloth think about how you will teach Basic Offense/Defense to the soldiers, remember my character will be in on the class just as an observer.

I will start the advanced class for the Ded next week.

  13. The sun was coming up over the horizon casting a glow upon that land, seeming to be on fire. The wind blew down from the North, a cold a bitter wind that felt like death. The trees seemed to be alive from this distance but from up close it was obvious that the moving trees were strictly the camouflage of tents and men. The small camp was a mobile fighting force and ready to move. A bitter chill ran through Gareth’s body as he stood before the camp. It had been long that he had left them waiting. Many had left, only a few remained of what once had been a great force for the Shadow, most had died at Chachin, the others had left when he did in pursuit of their own desires. The rest were gathering their equipment and getting ready to move, Gareth was taking them to Caemyln, they would join the fight once more. Gareth had only been back for a short time but when he did he had to put down the man that had claimed leadership. He was a good blade and would be missed but disloyalty would not be tolerated from anyone even a Death Seaker such as him. His new second in command was going to follow Gareth with the soldiers disguised as a merchant train, but Gareth had to meet with Rahvin before his men arrived.

The road was familiar, like a good woman you get to know every bend and curve over time and usage. Gareth had traveled this long road many times in the past, even though it had been a while he still knew it. It had been a long time since he had dawned the armor and dress of his rank. The almost mirrored shine on the black plate was hidden in his pack, the armor was made to inspire fear in its beholders, not good in small villages. However he did wear his cloak with the crossed swords and the black helmet with red eyes embroidered over his left chest. Few would know that symbol and what it represented, and those that did would scurry out of his way fast enough.

It had been a long time since he had met with Rahvin and been told to head North with the Soldiers. He had not heard from his lord in all that time and was dreading the meeting. He would have to report on the battle and why he was gone so long but he still didnt know what to tell his Lord. Rahvin didn’t know he was coming, or at least Gareth had not told anyone except his men where he was going, but it would not surprise him if Rahvin already knew. Rahvin would forgive him for being gone so long, at least he hoped he would. What had happened to himself Gareth wondered. When he left the Warders and joined the Shadow his resolve was sure to fight the light because he had nothing to live for. Having killed his family and been publicly suspect but they could not prove anything. But now he only fought because he knew nothing else, fighting had been his life since he was young he told himself.

The journey took only a few days by himself, he rode hard and fast, he was ready to return to his duty even without his once unshakable resolve to keep him. It was dusk on the final day of his journey when he arrived at Caemyln, the stars were out and the moon light up the night like a beacon, but it felt like rain coming. It was easy enough to find an inn, the Drunken Soldier was a fine establishment, well it had fine ale and that was all that mattered to him after a hard ride. The common room smelled of ale and sweat, common after a hot sunny day, but the music was loud and the dancers pretty. He stayed only long enough to have a few drinks and steal a few dances before heading upstairs to his room.

It was dark outside when Gareth woke uneasily from his slumber, the room felt wrong. In the blink of an eye he had pulled his sword and was readyto kill, he always slept on one of his swords. He light the bedside lamp and lowered the weapon as he saw someone was in his room sitting in the chair. “What are you doing in my room?†he asked casting a glance both at the figure sitting in the chair and the naked body beside him.

  15. Gareth nodded at the boys reason for coming, everyone had their reasons for what they did. The silence was reasuring it let Gareth ponder on his own reasons for traveling.

He was tired exahsted and hurt. The fighting had been fierce even though they had won the battle, it was a slaughter really, Gareth was not pleased with himself. "To many people died here today" he said to his second in command as they over looked the ruined city and took stock of the carnage. Smoke rose from everywhere the fires were rampant, the stench of death was strong, the hole that had formed when the wall fell was covered in dead. "Too many lost to the power and the Trollocs", he said the last with disgust. "We needed their numbers but they were a little overzelous in their feedings I should not have had to intervene." Gareth said remembering his confrontation with the Trolloc leader. He looked back over his remaining force, the last of the Soldiers, "take them home let them rest, I will call soon enough, something feels wrong" with a sharp salute to his Second Gareth kicked his horse to a gallop. Just before he reached the tree line a great rumbling nearly shook him from his horse. He looked back and the city that had stood in ruins was now gone.

Gareth was brought out of his revalry by Trens voice "Master Gareth, when you arrived, you made a point of displaying that sword of yours. Is the heron on it's hilt there by right, or did you get the weapon as a gift?" He didnt really know how to answer, the story was long but he would try the short version. "Well it was both in fact it was a gift from a man named ZIO who was tainted and touched by the DarkOne himself. He is the only man I have ever known that could use a myrddraal sword. He is gone now but the reason for the gift was for my service. You may have heard of the fall of Chachin, I lead my Lord Rahvins human forces in battle the sword was a gift before hand. The reason I displayed it was I didnt know you, but most that know the signifigance of the heron would step warry and those that dont know of the bird dont matter. Get some sleep we ride tomorrow."
