  1. Just watched "The Hangover: Part II" last night. After it getting bashed from nearly all of my friends my expectations were low enough that I did end up enjoying the movie. Nowhere near as entertaining as the first and it did seem very practiced. To the point where the stars' characters (Helms, Cooper, Galifianakis) even felt like they new they were making the same movie.

I must say though, that monkey was awesome.

  2. Picked up 50 Shades of Grey. First, I have no idea how this got published. It may very well be the worst written book in the history of this Age or any other. HOWEVER, it is pretty damn funny. Sophmoric of me but what can you do? We are all human.

I'll say this too, reading 50 Shades + WoT books simultaneously = wackiest dreams ever.

  3. Just came across this one in LoC, had a good chuckle at it. Urien's exchange with Rand:

Rand: "I mean to return to Caemlyn an hour or so after sunrise tomorrow. Until then, visit the tents, see your friends, and try not to start any blood feuds. If you insist, two of you can hang about to protect me from mice; I don't think anything larger will jump out at me here."

Urien grinned slightly and nodded, though he did gesture about head-high to a Cairhienin and murmur, "The mice can be big here."

  4. I'd say I identify most with Perrin. At first it had been just our similarities physically but, as far as I'm into the books anyway, I really like his character. His humilty and his being torn between what he wants to do and what his natural abilities almost demand he does. Whether that holds true as I continue through the series we'll see but I do hope so.

As for how I came across WoT it was, honestly, brought about through Westeros.org where I've been a member for a bout a year and the Game of Thrones sereis. I love that series for its brutality and realistic, if sometimes vulgar, approach to the genre and saw there that WoT was highly recommended as a series and I decided to go for it. I must say, not dissapointed in the least!
