So much nay-saying in this thread! As a screenwriter who has looked at WoT with an eye to adaptation, I can say with surety that the books will make an awesome TV show. I have zero doubts concerning the source material.

Will the show be good? That depends on 3 things:

1. Is the network willing to give it the budget it needs to be what it is? - Given the success of Game of Thrones and what I've heard about how much this studio is willing to shell out just for the rights, I think yes.

2. Is the director they bring on board a true fan, determined to hold true to the original story? - Based on rumors whose source I won't divulge, we have a good chance that he/she is.

3. Are the writers good enough at their craft to make the inevitable changes without sacrificing the heart of the story? - This could be the tricky part. I have no idea how many working screenwriters are familiar enough with the material to pull it off, but I expect they'll come out of the woodworks once the official announcement is made. I know I'll be putting my name in for consideration. Even if there aren't enough talented fans to fill the writer's room, as long as the director is on board with a faithful adaptation I'm sure they could pull in non-fans to fill out the room.

Should be 'any more' I think.

And the typos are the result of the book being rushed to print in order to hit the November deadline.

P. 738 ...clicking her tongue to herself as pulled out a wrong stitch.

In "A Force of Light", Ituralde mentions Rand destroying the Shadowspawn with Deathgates. Is it likely that he would know what a Deathgate was? The only way I could think he'd know would be if some of his Ashaman told him. that doesn't seem plausible. As far as I know, the only Ashaman that know of the Death gates are with Rand, not Ituralde.

Rand first used the Deathgates way before he sent Ituralde off. There are plenty of unnamed Asha'man to pick from.

P. 576 & 577

Perrin becomes a wolf, then without changing back: curses, wills sweat from his brow, and looks down at his waist.

P. 559 - ...though the Aes Sedai did began to drink.

P. 531 - Interesting, it seemed that Faile...

Should be interestingly.

P. 515 The bellfounders in Caemlyn had been working for straight through the nights...

Another reference to moonlight on the same page. 488 has it properly as overcast.

P. 486 The paving stones were wet from a misting earlier in the night, and they reflected the silvered moon.

Forgive me if I'm wrong, but I don't remember mention of the clouds parting in Caemlyn before this.

P. 483 ...tossed a handful of five dice.

One of these numerators is redundant.

P. 467 A pocket on the mountainside exploded...

There are no mountains in Caemlyn. The landform in question was also named a hill on a previous page. 'Hillside' would be the proper word.

P. 450 - and the cavalry made a sweeping charge crossed the courtyard.

P. 426 ...and I h ave given my loyalty to him.

I have my doubts about p. 386: Desya gavane cierto cuendar isain carentin.

According to the translation (A resolute heart is worth ten arguments), there should be 4 new words in this sentence, but I only see 3. Gavane cannot mean either ten or argument, because it exists in the phrase "Nosane iro gavane domorakoshi", which means "Speak we what language?" Isain is related to isainde, which means 'is not', and cuendar is obviously heart, given as cuebiyari in another quote. Cierto strikes me as meaning resolute, given the similarity to latin, leaving carentin to most likely mean 'worth' or 'equal to'. If I were a gambler I'd say desya means ten. So gavane is out of place unless it has two meanings - due to the reversed construction of the Birgitte quote, it's probably in literal order, so gavane should mean 'what' or 'which'.

P. 388 "I came here to tell you that that, on behalf of the men I lost."

Kind of nit-picky, but page 378 Gawyn thinks of Silviana as a Red, instead of as the Keeper.

Page 354 - Birgitte wears a sword. Didn't she say in an earlier book that every time she'd picked up a sword in a previous life, she'd ended up dead?

There's another one...can't find the section, but it was an Ituralde section, prior to page 331, where Aes Sedai healing is mentioned. Sentence construction seems to imply that the pronoun 'he' refers to said Sedai.
