I just got off a call where I had the lovely opportunity to interview Ibrahim Faraj, a Senior Consignments Manager with Propstore.com, about the upcoming The Wheel of Time TV show costume and prop auction, running October 12th–28th.

If there is one piece of info to take away, and you plan on trying to buy something from this auction, PLEASE go to Propstore.com, REGISTER for the site, and FINISH the bidding approval process, or you will not be able to bid!

…back to the fun stuff…

As a Senior Consignments Manager, he gets to go out and find all the cool stuff for folks like us to buy (not to mention Ibrahim himself, who is also a collector)! He also got to do things like “call Sony and advocate to them” to get as much stuff for us as possible! And when there were multiples of an item, he made sure to get the best versions, labeled H1, or Hero 1.

Dream job, I know.

The excitement about the community finally getting to see months of work from dozens of people was palpable throughout our interview. I knew immediately that I liked Ibrahim (phenomenal vibes), and it wasn’t just because of the original stormtrooper art hanging on the wall behind him. No spoilers for Ibrahim: he has only read up to The Shadow Rising (the books were given to him by his brother after he watched Game of Thrones Season 1). I KNOW, I KNOW. Don’t worry, he’s already started relistening to the series and promised he will finish!

He’s a big nerd himself. His fave character at the moment is Perrin, but he’s also a huge fan of Lan. He loved everything about the show, but most of all (a man after my own heart) the sets, the makeup, and the costumes! (Especially the S3 stuff… check out the interview for why!)

When the auction was presented to Propstore, they put out a call within their ranks for folks who were fans of TWoT to work on the project. Personally, I think it shows in all the attention to detail, including the dozens and dozens of amazing 4K images taken of the items. In Ibrahim’s words, it’s “the most we have ever done, maybe.”

No more gushing from me. Go see for yourself in our interview, going live Monday on the Dragonmount Official YouTube, the very same day the auction opens! And leave some love for Ibrahim, even though it was not his first time on camera… Season 3, Episode 1 of House of the Dragon. (Check out the background Lannister soldiers. 😉 ) To celebrate, we’re also giving away Rand al’Thor and Perrin Aybara’s Snakes and Foxes set! It’s a classic follow-and-post giveaway, so keep an eye out Monday for how to enter.

And lastly, the need-to-know info about the auction:

• REGISTER EARLY and be SURE to go through the bidding approval process.
• The Buyer’s Premium is 26% with VAT at 20% charged on the premium for UK buyers only.
• Purchasers can add shipping insurance.
• Shipments will go through FedEx.

Some notes from Propstore:

Best of luck to everyone trying to get a piece of this Wheel of Time history from an age past!
