I need a columnist

What I'm looking for is someone who will read the forums every week and compile a round up of current topics. It doesn't need to be comprehensive. We just want highlights. Something like 2 threads of WoT discussion, 3-4 threads from the Social Groups, and 2 threads from the RP. Also, if Jason or I have shared anything interesting on the Dragonmount Twitter/Facebook, you can include those links. The links should be included with commentary, like "Here's a great thread about favorite books on General. What are yours?" or "Oh, it looks like we're discussing the Game of Thrones preview on the Entertainment forum. Did you see it yet?" You want to draw people in and invite them to participate in the conversation.

 

The person who takes on this responsibility has to commit to having the column completely ready to go every Tuesday morning EST so I can get it up on the site for a Wednesday release. Don't worry about formatting or anything. If you can make a forum post, you can write a blog entry. (In fact, the way the site's software is set up, I can "promote" a forum post to the front page, so you will just be posting your column to a private forum for me.) You will also have to conform to the Dragonmount Style Guide, which isn't horribly difficult, but does require you to think a bit before you post.

 

Let me show you some examples of round up columns from other sites similar to ours so you can see what I'm talking about.

http://www.tor.com/blogs/2011/04/morning-roundup-game-of-throneslost-smackdown Tor.com is a shared blog about pretty much every spec fic topic under the sun. They have about a half dozen or so "satellite" Facebook pages set up with moderators who post links to cool stuff every day (Full disclosure, I maintain Tor.com Wheel of Time.) Someone goes through the Facebooks each day and picks one cool link from each.
