Soul Searching, Take Two [Elyna]

ooc: I wrote this assuming that the original 'Soul Searching' thread never happened, but the chore before that thread did. Poke me if you had something else in mind. :)

Lwena frowned and glanced around the room, hands on her hips. It was a disaster, simply put - it seemed like a storm had blown through the room, the only indication otherwise being that everything was dry. Well, mostly everything - a clumsy Novice had knocked over a pot of tea onto several papers that had been resting on the table, and that patch wasn't dry, though it wasn't exactly wet, either. It was just sticky, and rather disgusting. When had this room gotten to be in such poor condition, and why was hadn't anyone done anything about it before? Light, it was as though without her, or a few other Yellow Sisters, the Infirmary would collapse. Shaking her head, Lwena reached for the tea-soaked papers and then paused, shaking her head. This would take hours to clean up by herself, and then she would still have to hunt down whoever had made the mess. Why would she do it all by herself?

 

Shaking her head, she left the room and headed toward the Novice's gallery, a hint of a frown still on her face. The room must have been left in such a state by some Novices or Accepted, she was assuming, who had been assigned to help in the infirmary. There were always some there, of course, running in and out of the store rooms. Unfortunately, that meant that the store rooms got messy, until an Aes Sedai - much as Lwena was doing - got sick of it and assigned a Novice or two to cleaning it up. Shaking her head, Lwena turned a corner and found herself surrounded by Novices. She must have passed the Mistress of Novice's office without realizing it, and ended up in the middle of the gallery without noticing.

 

"Novice," She paused and selected a girl, seemingly at random. "Elyna," She caught the girl's attention and, with a bit of a smile, said, "I need some help in the infirmary, in the first store room on the left. I'll be there in a moment, and I expect to see you there. Make sure you bring a bucket of soap and water." While they - and by 'they', Lwena mostly meant Elyna, as she hadn't spent twenty years as a Novice and Accepted to scrub down walls and floors - cleaned the room, Lwena figured that they might as well clean it properly. Turning, she went back to her own room and changed quickly into something more appropriate for cleaning, the type of dress she normally wore in the infirmary. Dark coloured, it hid blood stains well, and the fabric was sturdy enough to do any sort of cleaning in. After binding her hair back with a tie, she went back to the store room, expecting to see Elyna ready and waiting for her to arrive.
