  1. X Men 97! Why can't I binge watch it? Stop torturing me with weekly episode drops!
  2. I have been playing Dave the Diver. It is a survival/management/farming game in a pixel style and I am loving it. I heard about it via the Bitcast Youtube weekly videos. Travis from IGN and Hoeg (Lawtuber) have been raving about it for months, so myself and a few friends decided to give it a go.
  3. While I have been injured, I have become very interested in trials, courts and true crime. I wish our courts and trials in Australia were more open to scrutiny like the USA. Watching live court from gavel to gavel on some trials makes it clear just how much media either doesn't understand court proceedings or twist the narrative to their own ends.
  4. Many of my old Sci Fi favourites have already been mentioned, but I have to give a shout out to Red Dwarf for some good old BBC satire.
  5. I haven't played the games, but very much enjoyed the show. I was on tenterhooks for the inevitable results of certain actions and dreading betrayals which sometimes didn't happen. I'd have been a plant zombie on day one. Brilliant set design and costume/makeup.
  6. One Piece (live action) was surprisingly enjoyable to me. I haven't read the mangas or seen the animated series, though I had heard much chatter from fans that live action couldn't possibly do the story justice. It was a fun frolic and I came to care about that shabby little crew and look forward to the enemy of the day. I may even start reading it one day...
  7. I enjoyed Moon Knight. It threw in a few twists I wasn't expecting. I hope Marvel can sort out their writers and production team for the second season.
  8. Warbreaker is a lot of fun and I look forward to seeing the main characters more in the Cosmere going forward. It was even more amazing that Brandon lets people read it for free from his website. I have a soft spot for Elantris, despite people saying it is one of Brandon's weaker books. Set in the same world, The Emperor's Soul is amazing, if too short....
  9. Murderbot! All of Bobs from the Bobiverse.... Sam Vimes from Discworld (everyone else too, but Vimes is my favourite. Death is wonderful, but Vimes has character growth) The Bridgeburner crew from Malazan. They are all a special sort of messed up. Vasher from Warbreaker. Raoden and Hrathen from Elantris. Paragon, Reyn and Brashen from The Liveship Traders Isana and Bernard from Codex Alera Waldo Butters from The Dresden Files
  10. Yes, I will start any series that interests me and wait with bated breath for each new novel. If the author has a reputation for not seeming to have any interest in finishing their series like GRRM, I won't even start it.
  11. Thank you Delenn, keeping all the shiny things is always a risk! I have taken a bit of a break since Christmas as life has been rather hectic. Hopefully everything gets back on the rails soon, then we will see.
  12. Just off the top of my head, I could make a Mobius Ring in Ajah colours... (Credit to Brigitte Chainmaille for this image) I have also made some cute earrings which could be made in Ajah colours. Apart from that, I could probably use a Japanese weave to make the Aes Sedai symbol with black and white/silver jump-rings inside a large outer ring?
  13. About 4 years ago, my better half said to me "You are going to think I am crazy, but I want to try making chainmaille." He was right. I thought he had gone mad. For some context, he was diagnosed with a rare cancer 14 years ago. He has had two rounds of cyto-reductive surgery and inter-peritoneal chemotherapy. He almost died after both procedures. Some of the older members probably remember helping through these dark times. After the first surgery, I became addicted to building Lego sets as a form of therapy to cope with the stress and trauma. He also took up Lego, but to a lesser extent. When he was told his cancer was back 6 years after his initial treatment, Lego wasn't sufficient to take his mind off the upcoming surgery. I understood his need to not think about what he was soon to go through. Hence: chainmaille addiction commenced. I got dragged into it after I bought him a Chainmaille advent calendar. There were several weaves he couldn't wrap his head around and after several hours of failure, he tossed the offending kits in my direction and said "You try it!" Strangely, the weaves he struggled with were the ones I found a breeze and vice-versa. We were able to teach each other. He had his second surgery, I nursed him back to health and we were both back at work. Things were going great. Then I injured my back while working. I went on the Work Cover merry go-round, waiting 6 months for treatment while being unable to move without assistance. Chainmaille stopped me going insane. I made about 4 or 5 pieces a day for friends, family, charity and for YouTubers that were keeping me entertained. Here are some of the many pieces I have made.
  14. I am currently reading Malazan Book of the Fallen - Dust of Dreams Malazan has been a real slog for me. I really enjoy some of the characters but when those characters disappear for a couple of books....I get apathetic. Don't get me wrong, I am interested in the story and have no issue with the writing style. It has never taken me this long to read a series of books before. I started about 2 years ago. I have read about 50 other books in between chapters of Malazan books. Thankfully this book is back with my favourite group of characters and I should be able to finish it within a couple of days, then just one book left to finish the series!
