New Covers for The Eye of the World and New Spring in Books and eBooks Posted July 7 12 hours ago, GOINSTD112 said: I've always thought the Eye of the World cover was grossly out of perspective. The rendering of Moraine & Lan make Moraine look like she's 4 feet tall riding a miniature horse. Either that or Lan is 10 feet tall and his horse is 25 hands or more (that translates to over 8 feet at the shoulder)! Oh, and why is Moraine riding side saddle? I don't think I ever read anywhere in the books that she didn't ride astraddle. I think the covers were always done as a loose interpretation of what's actually going on (like there's more people in the party of Two Rivers folk than there really were traveling with Moiraine). But for me, this cover has always been amazingly cool! Perhaps the size (or shortness) of Moiraine is emphasized, but that doesn't bother me. Or maybe Mandarb is 25 hands?
