This is excerpted from a longer transcript.
this got me wondering.
do the Finns have any actual powers of their own, or are they just a warehouse of other peoples powers and items?
-
that is absolutely beautiful.
now i just need to figure out how to order the book with that specific cover
Shouldn't you just be able to ship a copy over from Amazon.co.uk?
I've ordered items from American websites with absolutely no trouble before, and even the P+P hasn't been too bad.
you would think so, but looking at Amazon, i'm only finding the US cover with Rand and his sword
EDIT: never mind. it worked by going to the UK amazon site instead

i don't know where else to put this, so i guess it will have to be here.
i always found the UK covers to be much better than the American ones, but i can't seem to find the one for AMOL.

how come the Seanchan likes ravens so much, when we know that ravens symbolise the Shadow?
coincidence, or was Ishamael having a laugh?
-
so mmy brother is reading the books.
so i wanna discuss things with him, but i keep forgetting when certain stuff happens.
when is it explained that Ba'alzamon is Ishameal and not The Dark One?
-
When you regularly try to tell the Aes Sedai truth when you don't want someone to know something.
yes, i very often try to do that, but too often i fail when the follow up questions come

if the nausea is based on the the strength of the link, and the link was getting stronger and the nasuea was going down as you say, then why was the nausea so overpowering in the end of TGS when he open himself to the Power in ebou Dar?
was the link suddenly getting weaker for no appearent reason?

I think Leigh brought it up in her re-read of this book, Rand seemed to go all kinds of mad in the book. It seemed weird and almost accelerated, especially since he seemed to go back to 'normal' following it.
Yeah, I believe that Rand's dramatically increasing-then-decreasing madness in books 3 and 4 are due to the fact that RJ thought (while writing book 3) that the series would only be a few books longer, but by the time he started writing book 4, he knew it would last longer, and needed to draw the madness out.
while i can't say for certain that's entirely wrong i will say that it's more likely cause he's struggling with the realization of what he is and what he will do.
and while i can't give a quote on it, but i'm 95% sure i've read that it's supposed to represent his time in vietnam in a way
-
i finally got tired of waiting for the library to get it, so i just went to the only bookstore in town and askd for TGS, and lo and behold they had one copy in. with the nice british cover too. (i really dislike the american one)
just cracked it open and i see a Jordan signature in it. does all of them have that copyd in or did i get very lucky?

There's no equator running through Randland. Tear ends up running somewhere along the same lat as Florida, while Ebou Dar and Illian run south of that. Apprently, snow does reach the northern reaches of Tear and Illian, at least somewhat.
nope, that doesn't seem right. remember that people of the south coast believe that the snow is a lie. therefore it can't snow anywhere near Tear or Illian and that must be much more south
Perhaps the Sea of Storms has a big warming effect
you mean like the golf stream? i guess that's plausible
I just think that the idea that North America had 7000 miles added to it's eastern coast and 2700 miles blasted off its west coast,it doesn't need to be added, the land is always there, it's just covered with water at the moment. and with x amount of years worth of landshifting can make anything happen. especially with the Breaking.
just raising or lowering the lands a few meters would change the coastline forever

but remember that the Breaking changes everything. the landmasses don't have to be similar to what they are today.
for all we know, Randland could be where the pacific ocean is now
-
you got to rememebr that during the breaking mountains got lowered, and seas got raised. perhaps selected patches of land can also be moved.

i always wanted to see something like this, but are you it's that small?
-
why would you pick Fain for the attack on Demira?
we haven't had anything that points this at him
-
In LoC: chapter 22 when Mat is on the march towards Tear, he is attacked by a group of Aiel. he later finds out that they got there by a gateway.
now, who sent them there?
my first guess would be Sammael although it could very well be any of the Chosen. would Taim do something like that? can he even do that?
and also, were they Shaido Aiel, or Darkfriend Aiel.
and completely unrelated but similar. in LoC: chapter 46 one of the Salidar Aes Sedai in Caemlyn is attacked by Aiel in an alley and is then told to stay away from Rand.
we know Rand didn't send them, so who did? and for what purpose? to actually make them back away or to piss them off?
My first guess would again be any of the Chosen, or perhaps even Taim since he's wanted to do it since they first came in.
can it be Verin who ordered the attack in order to make the Aes Sedai lose any little control they had over him?
cause she got the confrontation in place afterwards that made him flee to Cairhien. so either she put the whole thing together or she just took advantage of the situation.
and maybe it's just me, but the attackers didn't seem to act very Aiel-ish.

banned cause that was a crappy reason

I assume it's tequila, Robb
No. Tequila is made from the agave plant. Oosquai is made from corn (zemai= anagram for maize). I imagine it's something closer to corn whiskey, or moonshine.
i always thought it was made from cactus juice for some reason.
i'm sure something is made of cactus
-
i think i would like to try Oosquai at some point

banned for using the word "banned" twice. but he's right, no word is banned

i finished last night, and i loved it.
while the battle did drag on a bit, it sort of comes with the territory.
the whole series has basically been just a preperation before the big battle, there's only the fight left, so of course that's gonna be the main focus.
and with war comes death, i would have been surprised if most survived. however, some could have had a little better death scenes.
But honestly, i think it would be better for Lan to just stay dead. he had the best death scene in the entire book, and then Rand reaches in and says "lolnope" and he's back up again?
