  1. picked back up the hobbit ... but schools starting so i'm probably going to be stopping my re-read of that book and 2nd attempt at the LotR's trilogy and focusing on my Chemistry & Biology text books <_<

as dry and as hard as i find TOlkiens writing ...  i prefer Tolkien if given the choice XD

  2. we saw Capt America Winter Soldier over the weekend.  first movie we've gone into theaters to see in a long time.

it was good.  watching Agents of Shield spoiled the fact that

Fury wasnt dead and Shield gets disbanded and the reason why is Hydra took over from within

but even aside from a tv show spoiling the major plot point and twist fo the movie  XD  it was still enjoyable.  much better than the first Cap America movie *nods*

imo the Black Widow stole the show though   theres a reason why i have her as my Minecraft character skin

  3. finally hooked our PS3 up to the wireless access at the house. we play mostly on Bubba's tag though

    Bubba - HickArmyBoy

    Red - Red2111

    Edit -

And we have an Xbox 1 now

    Mine - theCrzyKatLdy

    Bubba - hickarmyboy

  4. i haven't seen it posted here, but King has stated that he writes in a Multiverse, meaning all of his books are intertwined at some point.  in every book of his, he writes in a shout out most times includes character from previous books as well as lays foreshadowing for future books.

i'm seeing that one gripe about tDT series was the inclusion of other characters from other books, and that those seemed like cop outs.  knowing this abotu King and that he does it in every book of his, i'd have to disagree with that premise and put it to him trying to tie the universes together.

for instance, TMIB in this series is also Flagg the evil magicain from "Eyes of the Dragon", written in 1987. and Flagg we all know can time jump, if you've read the book as it alludes to him having twisted events in that univers hunders of years prior; so hearing that he's also the villian in "The Stand" is unsurprising.

alot of authors write in multi-verses.  Brandon Sanderson is another notable author which writes in a multi-verse.

edit - as for writing himself in *shrugs*  i guess thats for personal taste.  i agree its very narcassistic of him, but no one ever said King wasn't a narcassist.  but again, i'm null on this, after all M. Knight and the director of Pulp Fiction also write themselves into all of their movies.  King also has a walk on minor role in all of his movies as well.

  5. oh did king stop with book 8 in that series then?? i read the first 3 in that series, but lost interest in the 4th. i loved Gunslinger though *nods*

finished "50 Shades of Grey" and moved onto its sequel "50 Shades of Darkness".

okay, so i learned this series started out as a fan fic to Twilight. which explains why the writing style is on par with juvinille literature. infact the writing style, voice, characterisation and pose is very much like Twilight in comparison. not a compliment in any means.

this series, tbh, doesn't diserve the hype its been given. the erotic scenes are nicely written, very sensual and visual and well give you the desired effect. but honeslty, i think that really the only good thing i can say about this series.

the main character is likable still, but i cant say shes someone that one should admire. infact i'd say shes pretty much the anti-romance star that one comes to expect. i see a big resembalance between her and bella swan from the twilight series, both in demeanor and how she loses her self identity for that of the man she comes to love. its not a quality that should be encouraged or admired in female characters and was one of the main issues i had with the twilight series tbh.

Christian Grey ... tbh i want to liek him, but find myself unable to. i want to pity him, becuase i understand how messed up his childhood is. but his controll aspect, and the sadist aspect to his character as well as the controlling aspect i just can't vibe with. i resent him mostly in this series, and find him rather distasteful.

its a different series to be sure, and (leaving out the erotic scenes) not what one expects from a romance novel nor what one desires to read in romance. i'll finish the series, but its not a novel id read again or i'd suggest to anyone unless they wanted to read for the erotic scenes.

  6. finished "Damned" by Chuck Paliniuk (sp) *author of Fight Club* recently and was very happy. after Pygmy i had lost faith in this author, but Damned has sense revived that  was a great Chuck book.

    currently reading 2

"The Mark of Athena" by Rick Roidan. i've sorta put this on hold because well, i'm finding that alot of what their talkign about i'm not remembering, so i'm thinking a re-read of the Percy Jackson series and then this series is in order. i might wait until the next book is released to do so, that way its all fresh for the 5th and final release.

"50 Shades of Grey" don't recall the name of the author. just started this one, and picked it up cause i'd heard lots of good things about it. its an Erotic Romance, so i'll not go into depth about it. interesting read though, cant say the author is that great at wrting aside from the naughty scenes. the dialouge and the pose is about on par with a juvinille lit book imo; but the main character is likable

  7. *smiles fondly* i remember my first read of WoT. its more than worth it to keep reading and i'm sure you'll be finished either a bit before MoL comes out or just as its being released. the middle books of this series can be hard to get through, but after Path of Daggers it picks back up  well worth it imo.

  8. The White Ajah is the smallest Ajah, and they are devoted to seeking the truth. They seek answers that can rarely be found in worldly knowledge, and are often great philosophers. Whites are renowned for their serenity and calm heads, and carefully consider every situation with implacable logic. They can often seem cold and emotionless and are said to lack passion altogether, though this need not always be true.

This is your result in its entirety:

    White Ajah: 6

    Gray Ajah: 5

    Yellow Ajah: 5

    Blue Ajah: 3

    Green Ajah: 3

    Red Ajah: 2

    Brown Ajah: 2

  9. it allows an option to download as well. heres the link to the site Nol, you shoudl check it out. http://www.free-tv-video-online.me/

    okay so i also watched

Friends with Benifits - was cute. again the story line is predictable, but its a cute date night movie to cuddle up to as well.

Bridesmaids - which was meh, to say its a female version of the Hang Over is a bit much imo. it had it's funny moments, but all in all, i'm glad we didn't go see it in theaters.

17 again - was good,. i liked the storyline and it was cute. a nice date night movie to snuggle up with.

The Change Up - was decently funny, though it was very 'Freaky Friday' esque. certaintly recomend renting this one

I Am Number 4 - has been done before. the plot is predictable, theres nothing jaw dropping or OMG about it, the acting is medicore, and the entire story itself, whiel it has alot of potential, falls short on what they coudl have done. not even worth renting imo.

Limitless - was good, it took a surprising twist on the plot line that i didn't expect, though it left room for a sequel which i'm sure will suck, i throughly enjoyed the movie. it was very fast paced and at times you didn't know what was goign to happen.

My Soul to Take - was stupid, don't watch it. it was less than a B rated horror flick and you learn who the killer is in the first 10 minutes even though the movie spends the next 50 acting like you dont.

  10. so i've been using project free tv to view movies lately, heres what i've been watching

Paranormal Activity - was about as stupid as Blair Witch Project. i want my braincells back that died from watching this. it was more funny than scary.

Bad Teacher - was okay, i'm glad i saw this one for free. it had it's funy points, but over all, i'd give it a C.

Easy A - was decently funny, a good movie to watch on date night. i easily give it a B, but i don't intend on re-watching it at any point.

Grown Ups - was outstanding. i loved it. there were loads of funy parts, and it's about what you expect from an Adam Sandler film

Karate Kid - the new one. Meh, there was really nothing new with this movie, it followed the original from the 80's to a T. it's a good remake, and a great movie anyways, i grew up loving this series.

Up - was cute, the story line was kinda blah though and the characters are forgetable. still, a decent cartoon

Alpha & Omega - was okay. kina meh and very predicatable. not the best cartoon movie, but not the worst either

  11. *snickers* well Knife always sounds like it starts with an N  just ignore the math major here whistling.gif

so i finally finish DwD. now i've decided to pick up some light reading and start on "Warriors, New Prophecy: Midnight" by Erin Hunter.

it's the 2nd series of 6 books in the Warriors Saga. it's good to have an enjoyable fun series like this to go to inbetween reading epics ... i dunno if i could handle goign from ASoF&I and jumping right back into WoT  i'll probably be done with Midnight tonight and onto Moonrise tomorrow.

  12. Thorum are you gonna go directly into ToM from that book?? can't believe you haven't read it yet

Vam - WH is one of the harder books for me to get through. pretty much LoC to NoD's are hard for me though; it just seems like it moves soooo slowly and takes sooo long with so little that is interesting in the book. especialy once you get to "must find faile" part

i'm still reading DwD, savoring the last couple of chapters and taking my time. i've got 6 other boks i'm gonna pick up before starting back on my WoT re-read.

  13. Vam - you've chewed through the hardest books in the WoT series

as for Mistborn, i read the 3 books and foudn the story to be good if you could get into it. i just couldn't find myself liking any of the main characters and there for found it hard to enjoy the series as much as Elantris or Sandersons other stand alone.
