  1. Meissa paused along the stone railing, looking down into the garden. "The fight was sudden and bloody, Seeker. When we entered, the High Lady was on the ground. Those fool oathbreakers, those uncultured, ungrateful commoners dared to attack her. We attacked all who stood against us." She finally turned to look at him. "But as I said before, it was too late. The farmer had a weapon he used. Even the wife had a knife," she added in a regretful tone.

She continued their walk along the raised path. "As for the sul'dam, yes; der'sul'dam Cura was there. As for which damane, I do not remember; you'd have to ask her." It was not unusual to see damane as little more than useful furniture, so many Seanchan did not look at them; most did not want to, Meissa included. Sul'dam could be admired for handling them so well.

Meissa waited for the Seeker to continue. She did not wish to push him at all, or offer any more information than he asked for; she was hoping he would end the questioning and go back to High Lady Retamin.

  2. I would love to interact with an active Asha'man :o As my Red Sitter :D

While technically she is Bonded already, my bonded disappeared years ago (in RL, not in character), so I'd really like to renew that Red-and-Asha'man dynamic! (Sorry for the 'late' reply, I somehow didn't see this message before!)

  3. Hmm. This is why I am asking. Yes annul means to cancel. I can only see three ways to go about it, for my character anyway;

    a) pretend she wasn’t involved in the first round of bonding, or; (not preferred; just a possibility)

    b) say that the man who bonded her, has agreed to drop the bond because perhaps the two cannot get along or form the required closeness of a bond, or; (I like this idea better)

    c) Jagen, being the one who was bonded instead of performing the bond, convinces the Highest to let her and the Asha’man to undo it, so she can instead bond someone as a Warder--and not the man who bonded her. (I like this one best)

  4. I am signing in again ‘cause it’s 2018 :)

    1) Your Handle: Jagen Sedai
    2) Your Characters’ full name: Jagen Halin.  Celestine Erebruz.
    3) Your Character's status: Aes Sedai (Red, Sitter). Aes Sedai (Yellow).
    4) I see all relevant boards. Actually I still have access to the Gray Ajah board, and that should probably be swiped. And switched for Yellow Ajah (for my character Celestine).

  5. This is for @Kathleen, @Taymist, and @Chaelca.

It has been years since the Red Ajah conducted bonding with the Black Tower members, cumulating in the thread “While the Bosses Speak.” So I had two questions relating to this topic.

    1) What happened to the thread? I’ve searched for While the Bosses Speak but cannot find ot. This was when the actual bonds took place.

    2) If Bonded people have disappeared (years ago, it seems),  what now? Can I annull that bond? Can other returning Reds if their Bonded has disappeared?

  6. Okay, great. Thank you for the link! I will take that information out.

Also, do you have any info on how Dumai's Wells came to be, and how it happened in our world? (I would think Jagen should have been part of that, somehow).

  7. I found a timeline relevant to the WT within the Red boards, so I have that.

By the way, I think you two might know--did the Vileness ever happen in our world? Are we acting like it did?

We should definitely powwow; I second this. :)

  8. For the official PSW-wide (world) event timeline of DM: Official PSW Timeline Events

For an explanation of major Red Ajah roleplay threads, please see this post.

For the timeline, lower events happened first; later events are at the top of each year.

    A couple of Notes:

    • If you are a Red, I would like to include the date you were raised Aes Sedai in our timeline.
    • Major Tower RPs are included in the timeline; even if Reds were not involved, they're still important for us to know.
    • Age Bracket: So all members may be Aes Sedai in the current timeline, a lot of RPs for novices and Accepted happen in Retro; this changes who the Amyrlin is. For example, if you are in the current timeline 90 years old, the Amyrlin is not the same one as the one upon your raising to the shawl.
    • Some dates are inconsistent with the timeline; these will be fixed. (For example, who was Amyrlin when a certain Age Bracket was raised Sister).
    • This timeline will always be considered a Work In Progress.

The Aes Sedai are accompanied by their Gaidin and some Tower Guards.

  9. Yes, they definitely do wear red above all others, at least when RJ *did* bother to mention colors. I have PDFs of all the books, because they're very easy to search for keywords that way, and this is what I searched:

    red dress (tGH-CoT)
    slashed (tGH-CoT)
    crimson (tGH-CoT)
    scarlet (tGH-CoT)

They didn't turn up a whole lot; besides what I shared above, this is all of what I found:

    Quote

"Red slashed her dress of cream-colored silk, too, and red slippers peeked under the edge of her skirts as she moved into the room." (tDR) (Elaida)
"...her red-slashed skirts. She had never given up her way of dressing as a Red." (CoT) (Elaida)
"An unyielding stern-faced woman, handsome rather than beautiful, and dark of hair and eye, Elaida wore a blood-red dress, with the striped stole of the Amyrlin Seat about her shoulders" (LoC)
"Her dark, almost black, dress covered her to the wrists and chin..." (Teslyn)
"...her red dress, brocaded in a blue that was nearly black..." (PoD) (Teslyn)

"Tarna still maintained her rooms here in the Red quarter, but so long as she held her new position, she was no longer part of the Red Ajah despite the crimson embroidery on her dark gray dress."

Edit: I just found another example of a Red wearing black/dark gray, but she was NOT Black Ajah:

    Quote

Silviana Brehon. She was a Red, and her charcoal-colored skirts had discreet red slashes, but her shawl lay draped across the back of the chair behind the writing table.

  10. I set myself to a task of coming up with Ajah traditions for us--from the serious and practical to the silly to the superstitious--but then I thought, it'd be much better to have members contribute ideas here for such customs. And perhaps, if you want, even stories behind some of those customs (true or not).

On that, I do want to talk briefly about clothing.

I don't want to go against anything in the books, but we don't get a whole lot about the Red Ajah (or really anything at all that I can recall). I did have suspicions that perhaps members of the Red couldn't wear blue (as Blue sisters strictly do not wear any shades of red) or green, but this isn't the case--at least not with darker shades:

    Teslyn -
"Her dark, almost black, dress covered her to the wrists and chin..."
"...her red dress, brocaded in a blue that was nearly black..." (PoD) (I've actually wondered if this was a typo or a continuity error, but who knows.)

    Duhara -
"...hands clutching skirts so red they seemed nearly black" (PoD)

    Elaida
"Behind the throne and to the other side a woman in deep green silk sat on a low stool, knitting something out of dark, almost black, wool."  (EotW)

Actually, I'm extremely surprised at the amount of times Aes Sedai are seen wearing colors that are "nearly black"--as I would think that would be associated with the Shadow, and therefore it'd be frowned upon. Of the three sisters we do see wear "nearly black" (the three above), only one was Black Ajah in truth. (I'm also surprised the BA doesn't have a rule against wearing such a dark color, too).

So, perhaps it is safe to assume Red Sisters are strongly discouraged from wearing bright blues or greens. Other than the Blue Ajah not wearing any red shades, however, I don't see any evidence for or against other Ajahs wearing any colors.
