The season will likely be a mashup of TGH and TDR.

 

The super girls will spend time in TV training and meet Elayne, and Gawayn. Egwene will fall for Gawayn and start her career as a dreamer.   Matt will get captured by the Aes Sedai.  Liandrin will winkle them out of the tower per the books and they will  rescue and take Matt with them.  They will go to Tear which is under siege by the Seanchan.  The Stone stands.  Egw is captured per the books.  

 

Perrin, resurrected Loial and Ingtar, and the Sniffer Elyas chase after Fain.  Perrin realizes that the only way to save himself is to embrace the way of the leaf.  Elyas recognizes a wolf brother and tries to convert him to the way of the wolf.  This continues the whole season. 

 

Moraine will struggle with the loss of the source and seek out Verin.  Lan will saddle the horses  and do all the camp chores as befits a male warrior.   Verin will give Moraine the clues she needs to untie the shield.   She will also heal Lan who badly wounds himself when cutting firewood with his sword.  

 

Rand will wander the blight learning the sword by killing shadow spawn. Eventually he meets Selene who Travels with him to Tear to take Callandor.  No portal stones or worlds of if.  

 

The last episode has the white cloaks charging the Seanchan, Matt blowing the horn and the hero's throwing back the Seanchan.  Meanwhile Rand,  Perrin et al, sneak into the Stone and grab the sword. There is a Shadow spawn attack which Rand defeats per the book.  Per the books we see the forsaken working at cross purposes.   It may be that E7 is the repelling of the Seanchan and E8 is the taking of the Stone if they want two action episodes back to back..  There is no Turak but Rand does stab Ishy. 

 

BTW there will be little of the punishments of novices in the tower.  We all know that corporal punishment is not an effective way to modify behavior.  Novices who misbehave are told to stand in the corner, are grounded in their room, or sent to their room without supper.  If they are really to be punished then it is all three.    This is where Rafes enlightened view of the world will really make the story realistic. 

 

 

 

 

I really hope they still have Rand in Falme. The fight with Turak and then battling Ishy in the sky. It would be like cutting Dumais Wells for me.

Nynaeve does an AoE supergirl heal on everyone, probably resurrects Agelmar from the dead or something. Then Nynaeve heals Moiraine’s stilling, or undoes the block…whichever. Then some Seanchan stuff I guess. No idea for the boys.

I have no clue. Anything would be wildly speculative and probably wrong.

Hopefully S2 has been planned out in an intelligent manner. I also hope that Rafe can swallow his pride and see some of the fair criticisms as constructive.

Not a fan of what they’re doing to Mat and Perrin. Both come across as cowards at this point. Some non readers I’ve talked to see Perrin as WoT’s Hodor. 

I’m pretty bummed out about the series now. I was pumped after E7, I thought surely Rafe would somewhat sync things up in the finale. Now I have no expectations that we will even see some of the major events later on. Will Dumai Wells even be recognizable? Will Rand fight Ishy in the sky? Will Egwene make the black tower kneel now? Lame.

we missed this.

I waited the whole season for this. But nope they couldn’t give Rand his moment. Sorry but the finale was just bad. Bad changes, disjointed. Only saving grace was the acting. 

Best episode thus far. My non-reader wife agrees. Special nod to the Tigraine butt kicking. At least now we can end the dragon mystery stuff. Phew!

Bottom line, Rafe and co messed up with this change. It doesn’t add enough to the mystery of who is TDR to justify. Ah hindsight.

Not 100% confirmed, but everything Ive read indicates he isn't in the next two. 1-6 were filmed before covid, so makes sense I suppose. Bummer, I thought Barney did great with what he was given.

Sorry to see Mat go. Apparently he won't be in 7 and 8. Not sure what this means for his spar with the G boys.

So Moiraine thinks the DO is at the eye? Yeah no. This flicker didnt do Moiraine any favors in the world knowledge department.

Overall, it was pretty good. Non-reader wife  said this was her favorite. 4 is still my fave.

I'm more excited for 7 and 8 based on what I've seen/heard. Good stuff coming!

Graendal in the books is all about pleasure/hedonism and controls others absolutely with Compulsion to meet her every whim, she also was the psychologist right? I think they could easily combine her with the torture/sadism aspects of Semi, as another of her hedonistic vices, and can just be another means of her breaking/controlling people (or she could do more psychological torture).

 

On the male side, merge Rahvin and Sammael if you want to keep their plots at all, cut Be'lal and have it be Sammael in Tear at the Stone. And I hope the show makes Taimandred show canon.

Without Rahvin Im not sure how you get the battle of Caemlyn, one of the best scenes with Nynaeve/Mog and Rand balefiring Rahvin.

I enjoyed 5. My only gripes were the warder funeral stuff took up too much time. I like the exposition but it could have been truncated. Also Loial's hair is just comical, but the actor nailed it. Liked the whitecloak scenes and Rand/Mat interactions.

I would give it 8.5/10

Hopefully when all 8 episodes are out it will have a more favorable rating overall. From what I’ve heard the episodes get better and better. 

i think the noise will filter out after the initial shock. I have also heard they keep getting better. So fingers crossed.

I would say the thing im most excited to see this season is Rand having his own trolloc bbq at the gap.

I've seen them 3 times now, gets better each iteration. Acting is pretty good. I think Josha is nailing Rand. Maddy doing well also. I cant wait for the next one!
