The fact that Min WAS there probably did keep him strong when Semi started calling him insane.  Her not being there may have crushed his spirit because he might have been afraid to go back to her "knowing" he's crazy?  Food for thought.

I don't blame Min for Rand's hand, that was definitely more LTT's fault.  But I do not think she should have gone along, she should have known Rand would protect her over himself.  But then, there was speculation over a possible viewing she had in LoC when Rand said he would cut off his own hand before he hurt her, and she got this sad expression on her face and said she knew.  So if at that point she had a viewing about Rand losing his hand, she knew it was going to happen anyway and would rather be there than not.  So I don't think I can blame her for that. 

Hahaha, I nearly died laughing after that one...  :D  But still, his luck would have to be with him at least a little, he couldn't get that ALL the time ;)

Perrin and Rand at least should use it more often though... Rand sort of does, but not with much effect...

As for Min, she's just stubborn,

 

...and? Every last character would be the most stubborn person I have ever met. ::) In fact, I'd say she's among the LEAST stubborn characters. Oh she'll put her foot down every now and then, but oftentimes she is justified in being stubborn in those situations, and more often than most characters she will allow her decision to be changed by someone else.

I'm not saying it's a bad thing, I was refering more to why Min is hated.  But you are right, she is almost always justified when she's being stubborn, and it's a good thing she is otherwise there would be no counterweight for Rand's bullheaded logic.

Mat annoyed me in the first half of the series as well, but after he was hanged in book 5 he changed and I started liking him.  By the time I finished KoD I loved him ^^

As for Min, she's just stubborn, but she is such a great support for Rand, without her he would not be alive... not really alive anyway, he would not feel ANYTHING, and he's already having enough trouble with that without her being gone... And she's actually intelligent... probably from all those books of Herid Fel's that she reads ;)

You are the first person to ever actually say they hate Mat.... as far as I know...

Lews Therin had no special connection to the Aiel as far as I know.  If you are refering to Rand's time in teh glass columns of Rhuidean, those memories are from the eyes of his blood ancestors on his father's side.

Elaida would show no respect. She only thinks about the prophesy about the Rand "knowing the Amyrlin's wrath", and automatically assumes it's going to be her. Therefore, she acts like she can do anything she wants. I personally think it will be Egwene, especially since she is not afraid of Rand and has no reason to be since Rand would never hurt her.
