  1. "I'll have whatever he's having, hemlock is it?" Top Gun
  2. The Electric Company TV show. Which was referenced on Family Guy once with that line. That line is from the Goonies movie. The fat kid, I think chunk was his name, was always trying to catch up. "Jobu, I be good to you, I bring you rum and cigars, you no help me now, I say forget you Jobu, I do it myself." Cerano, Major League
  3. This was brought up several times after publication and in his lifetime, Tolkien always denied that the book was in any way representative of WWII
  4. Umm, yeah. That was different. Especially the ending.
  5. Damn, I'm hooked. I hope there's an update coming soon.
  6. Has anyone tried the Runelords series by Farland? I just started it and it's not too bad so far.
  7. War and Peace. Hands down. Do people even read this kind of book these days?
  8. Been there, done that. ;D

    The Super Bowl

The only thing I don't like about college is where the ball is placed. If the defense makes a stop, the offense can come out, not gain a yard and kick the ball to win. I would rather see college back the ball up to the 40 so they have to gain at least some yardage to win. Even with that it's still better than the way the pros do it.

    The Super Bowl

It was a fantastic game. I didn't really have a vested interest in either team but it was one of the best games I've seen in quite a while. Fitzgerald is inhuman. You have to think you could just call a hail mary every play and throw it in his general direction. Chance are pretty good you'd score pretty often. I thought Warner's arm was defintely going forward. I also thought there were several other major blown calls at critical times. I guess the Steelers are just lucky that way. What do you think of the current OT rules? THere was a part of me that was hoping the game would go to O
  11. Who needs tempering? Mess with us we'll destroy your army and take all your concubines! ;D Besides that, VETO power would consist of taking out an axe and chopping off the heads of congress until they passed the laws he wanted. I think some good head chopping is just what our government needs.
  12. I'm not so sure about the whole SwampThing running mate but I would vote for Conan in a heartbeat. Dude would kick ass as a president.
  13. Sorry, I was out of town for a while. I think that you would really like this series. The first one is, as the title implies, a vampire being interviewed by a journalist and he tells his whole life story. How he becomes a vampire, outliving his family, adjusting, etc. The third one is especially good as it goes into a story about the origins of vampires. The second one, I felt was just ok but the other two are very much worth the time.
  14. Rice's Interview with a Vampire, The Vampire Lestat, and Queen of the Damned are pretty good. It's been quite a while since I read them and I think she may have added another book to the series but these three were very good.
  15. I have degrees in accounting and business. I work as a financial analyst but a large part of my job still comes down to basic accounting.
  16. I'm not a big fan either. I was flipping through channels and saw the U.S. team trials and they were talking about it. Maybe it's a nonissue and they just needed something to talk about but I gathered that this was fairly new. I thought I would at least tune in to see if it was making a difference.
  17. The opening ceremony is supposed to be broadcast on a delay here in the states at 7:30 EST, so I'm hoping to see it then. It sounds like it was pretty amazing. I'm sure that there will be several performances that will measure up in every way. While I don't normally follow swimming, I am rather interested in seeing how that goes after hearing that the U.S. team are wearing suits that are supposed to reduce resistance in the water. I'm not so sure I like the idea of equipment giving anyone a competitive edge. I have always thought that sports should be played on an even field so that it is
  18. I probably won't watch a whole lot but I do try to see at least some of the track and field since the Olympics is about the only time they are televised. I also like to try and watch a little of the sports that I don't usually get interested in such as swimming and gymnastics.
  19. So I have a question for all you experts out there. Was Italy warranted in firing their coach? I am an absolute sports nut but usually hate this time of year. Even though it's unAmerican, I hate baseball and so this time of year is usually the worst time for me. Nothing worth watching other than the occasional track meet. I started watching the Euro's and it's the first time I've ever really watched soccer and I've really enjoyed it. I especially enjoyed watching the Italy/Spain match. Anyway, I just heard that Italy fired the coach and it didn't sound like he had too bad a record and t

  21. Well, I guess it can't be any worse than a drunk fish. ;D When I was in college, the group of guys I hung out with always teased me about my penchant for, um, "short term relationships". They accused me of hopping from bed to bed and eventually the nickname evolved. What can I say, it was the 80's. Anyway, the name has stuck and the Q is just my last name initial.
  22. I thought some of the nonfights were the best ones. Mat when he takes on Galad and Gawyn. At the beginning of TGH when Rand and Lan are practicing on the rooftop. When Rand pays the 5 guys to spar against him. I also like the part right after this when Bashere asks Rand why he practices with the sword when he has the OP.
