  1. Madoc nodded, and began to walk towards the grain stores, he could already tell the Mordre was exhausted and after Shri's warning he had no intention of doing anything to further exhaust Mordre. In fact, he intended to stop at a eatery that overlooked the granary, so they could examine things before the approached.

  2. Madoc added his opinion, "Now there is a pattern, a small one, but nonetheless a pattern. Now we just have to correctly interpret the evidence and pattern to surmise where the next target is.,, assuming we have not through our actions changed the perpetrators actions. I think the next strike will be at the grain storage..."

  3. Kyn nodded, "Just barely... I was young. And there are some benefits to being bound." he took another swallow from his mug and continued, "So, once they were done with what ever Taya Sedai set them too to contemplate their mis-steps she decided I was a little too comfortable in my own skin. So Lor, and her compatriot, decided to get even... and while I was reading out in the yards under the large oak, she used the One Power to compel some ants to pay me a visit... and to snack on me."

  4. Madoc watched and waited as the Wise Ones worked, he poured Mordre water from his waterskin, which he knew to be safe to drink as it had been in the waterpot of his mother's roof for several days and all had drank from it there. When they were finished doing whatever it was the wise ones did with the One Power and the well was cleansed they turned to the pair of Madoc and Mordre. "It is done, and we will have guards set to ensure no one does it again. Have you found ought else of any use, yet?"

  5. "Ah, well, the ants..." He took a long draw from his cup that turned into a very short one as he found it empty. "Seems I'll need another ale before I can tell all these stories." And he gestured for another round for he and Edana. Once it was delivered he settled back in to tell the story... from his point of view. "I suppose I should start from the beginning, with a bit of background. You've seen those fool Accepted in the yard, just because they have bands on their skirts they think they're Sisters full." He waited for the nod, as it was an inside joke among the Guardsmen and Warders. "Well, on this day two of those brats decided to be more foolish than normal. They weren't there to make mooneyes at the Warders training, or pick out future Warders, or even to learn from any of the masters in the yard. No, they were there to teach themselves, with sharps and not lathes, at that... and I caught them at it, and dressed them down, and sent them running to the Mistress of Novices to be properly corrected."

  6. Again, Madoc did as he was bid, taking the bucket with the remaining substance to the Wise Ones, the other Wise Ones he mentally corrected, to see if they could divine what it was. He told the Wise Ones what they'd discovered so far, where they'd discovered it, and then handed over the bucket for them to inspect... then he waited...

    ... and waited...

    ...and waited...

while they discussed. Finally when they emerged two took off at a run in the direction of the wells, the last looked at him and explained what Mordre had found. "This is a toxin, one that must be ingested and combined with a large amount of water to be lethal. But it is lethal in a agonizing way. It will cause you to sweat uncontrollably, cause your bowels to liquify, and your stomach to heave, which dehydrates you until you die. I hope this underscores the seriousness of finding this... traitor."

  7. "It took a little while, the ants incident did not help that impression whatsoever, nor her backside. Training her, that started the process. Saving her life, and her saving mine in return... that certainly did put things on the right path. She is single-minded when she sets her sights on something, be it a target, or a cause, or a stubborn Tower Guard who wanted nothing more than to bend her over his knee..."

  8. "Do you know how Loraine and I met?" Kyn asked, "what my first impression of the woman I'd grow to love was?" He knew she hadn't heard these stories, they were rarely told anymore, particularly since Loraine had become a Sister, and even more infrequently since she'd become a Sitter. "I thought she was a spoiled noblewoman playing at being Aes Sedai, and on top of that wanting to play with swords as well. Nearly killed her best friend in the Tower by playing with sharp swords in the training yard instead of using bundled lathes... and all without so much as a by your leave from anyone. She still blames me for the hiding she got too from the Mistress of Novices for that... since I was the one who upbraided them both and sent them packing to her for penance. I wanted nothing to do with her, and then we were put on an Embassy to the borderlands together, and well it went from there. first impressions are not always correct... and you hate that wall."
