The Mistress of Novices gave Aliena a very warm smile, and she felt immediately welcomed. You could tell so much about a person by their smile. If they showed any sort of teeth and were not visibly excited about something, it was an empty gesture. Any smile that induced dimples was truly heartfelt. The secret of smiles, however, was the eyes. All smiles reached the eyes if they were true. And Valeri Sedai had very warm eyes. This place won't be so bad at all if she is in charge.

"Hello there child. Aliena is it?" Aliena smiled again and nodded. She could smell tea about the room, and the idea of a hot cup of tea seemed completely divine. She had rarely even had a fire along their trip, as the Aes Sedai had chosen to simply read and eat dried crackers than worry about anything else. What a dull woman she was indeed... Almost as though Valeri Sedai had read her mind, the woman was offering her a cup of tea. "Take a seat, let me pour you some tea; you look tired Aliena." Almost unable to contain herself, she was reaching towards it. The cup was so warm in her hands, she shivered for a moment, before savoring her first sip. It was absolutely perfect... not too hot and not too cold. Life here will be easy.

"What brings you to the White Tower Aliena?" Aliena almost didn't hear the question as she savored her tea. Taking another quick sip, she forced herself to remove the cup from her lips, knowing that she should show respect and answer promptly. “Thank you so much for the tea, Valeri Sedai; it is simply divine!” Forgetting for a moment that she had been asked a question, she took another sip, then realized what a dolt she must appear. Answer when spoken to, you fool! “I was hoping to learn. The Aes Sedai that brought me here, she found me in Caemlyn, and I asked to come with her. She tested me and, well, here I am!” Having a half giggle to herself, she took another sip, and saw that the Aes Sedai was still looking at her. I guess I should tell her more...

“To expand upon that, I am from Carysford, in Andor. My family...” I wonder if I will ever see them again... “We went to Caemlyn on a visit, and I was curious and went out to explore at night. I got a little lost, you see, and the Aes Sedai... well she found me! I had never heard of an Aes Sedai before, so she told me that you were Servants of All and that you channeled the One Power, and I wanted to go with her, to learn.” Remembering that the Aes Sedai had questioned her about knowing what an Aes Sedai was, she backed up a little bit. “I guess I should mention, my family didn't like us to know much about the outside world. What little I knew I found in books that I... errr... borrowed from visitors to our town. And what I overheard.”

“Anyways, she, the Aes Sedai, had me stare into a crystal and then it lit up! She told me that I could learn to channel, so she brought me here! I want to learn, and I want to know how to channel! When do I begin?”

LOL My bio has been CC'd. Arath took care of that with a simple poke! I finally got access yesterday and have already posted my arrival at the tower thread. Poet, we have to submit it to Amadine because it is a prank thread and because we have to get punished.

Since Myrenna wants out, I am going to rehash it a little bit like this.... A will equal the two accepted, N will equal the two novices, for the sake of sanity. If one Accepted posts, so does the other one. Same with the Novices.

As will both post about being tired of chores. Then Ns will post about just wanting to please the As in general. The As will then send the Novices to clean their dresses. Ns will then hatch out a plan to clean their dresses and dye them since they had overheard that it needed to be done. As high five over success of getting out of laundry and post that they can go to bed early for once. Ns then post dying the dresses and returning them to their rooms.

As then wake up horrified with their dresses. Ns go to recieve praise only to be yelled at in the As response. Then the Ns go with the As to the MoN's office. MoN post of punishment.

THIS WILL THEN LEAD INTO THE MYRENNA WHISPER HOLE THREAD! In this said thread, Myrenna will talk to them about missing home and being tired of always being wrong and blah blah we can hatch that out later.

Once I get everyone's good graces on this, I will submit a better looking version to Amadine and to all of y'all. When we get the thumbs up, whichever A wants to post first can do so, and then just go in a circle from there!

Alright, how to break down this thread so everyone gets requirements:

Gera and Layla both post walking down the hallway, chit chatting, and then ordering one of the novices, Myrenna, to do a chore, who posts. Then another post from both Accepted, one more from Myrenna, who then continues her post into mentioning it to Aliena and Caille. Then a post from Gera and Layla about going to bed and leaving their dresses out, and a post each from Aliena and Caille taking their dresses.

At this point, we have:

Then Aliena and Caille post about dyeing the dresses, and then another post each about returning the dresses, running into Myrenna along the way who then posts.

Perfect! Alright so we have Geara and Leala to do this to, and I think it is Poet and Myself who will be doing the pranking. Now we just need Myrenna to start it all up by mentioning someone should dye their dresses....

Well, with Myrenna gone, let's pause that thread with the three of them whispering through the whisper holes. Definitely something to do eventually... perhaps we can just make it so they knew they were there all along, but all three had really bad days and just wanted to chat or something? Or perhaps, while she is gone, poet and I can discover the whisper holes one night and do a little RP, then Myrenna can jump in later as having gotten in late and checking on the new girls?

ANYWAYS! Back to this prank!

They had been riding for weeks; Aliena was sure of it. Every morning, the Aes Sedai awoke her before the Sun was even up, and they rode all day until the Sun was gone. At first, everything had been beautiful. They saw farms along the road, and beautiful trees. Then, as soon as they reached Braem Wood, the trip stopped being fun. The Aes Sedai never wanted to answer any questions whatsoever, even anything about herself. The woman just road in silence and ignored Aliena if she ever spoke. They never saw anyone else as they rode through the Forest, and without any way to sketch what she saw while on horseback, Aliena just had to dream. Dream of her future... dream of the Aes Sedai... dream of the Tower...

Tar Valon... I am to be Aes Sedai... It still didn't feel very real to Aliena. She had just been hoping to see the sites of Caemlyn, and now she was on her way to the grandest city imaginable. She had remembered where she had heard the word before. It had been in a book, talking about the Ogier buildings. While she had seen the great walls in Caemlyn, she knew that the greatest building of the Ogier were those of Tar Valon... The White Tower. And here I am, going to study in this great building, in the greatest city...

After almost two weeks, she could see Dragonmount... That was something she had not read about in any of the books she had found. After asking the Aes Sedai enough time, she filled Aliena in. Apparantly, the Dragon Lews Therin Telamon had channeled too much of the One Power, which resulted in his death and the growing of the mountain. It was always smoking, and no one had fully climbed it. It was also what resulted in the creation of the island of Tar Valon. It amazed Aliena to see such a large mountain before it. Apparantly, the shadow also just barely reached the gates of Tar Valon. She could certainly get used to seeing that outside of a window. Her fingers ached to sketch it, but she rode on.

Within just 5 more days, and after two and a half weeks of travel, she could finally see the gates of Tar Valon... and it was nothing she could have ever imagined. The beautiful tower, the white gates, and the huge bridges... She was in awe. Everything she saw, she needed to draw, so she could never forget. It was amazing, and she would be living in the middle of it. I am going to be a part of this... As they slowly reached the tower, Aliena couldn't even ask questions about what they saw. She just wanted to take it all in.

Eventually, they reached the tower, and the Aes Sedai told her to grab her things. They left their horses with some stable boys, and she followed the woman quickly into the tower. They walked quickly through halls filled with girls in white dresses and graceful Aes Sedai. Aliena kept looking at all the women walking by, struggling to keep up with the Aes Sedai that was leading her through the towers. So this was the White Tower? It was even more beautiful from the inside than out, but who were the girls in white dresses? Some had a beautiful hem, while others were all white. Were they the servants, or were they just the youngest girls? Aliena knew she would not look very lovely in white, and hoped she would not have to wear that dress as well.

As they came to the door of an office, the Aes Sedai knocked, and came in when they were welcomed in. Stepping inside, Aliena was greeted with another beautiful ageless face. The original Aes Sedai said, "Sister Valeri, this is Aliena. I found her in Caemlyn, and she was tested. I leave her now in your hands. Aliena, this is Valeri Sedai, the Mistress of Novices." And with that, the Aes Sedai left her. She didn't even know the Aes Sedai's name. She was such an odd woman, but had always provided her with endless information. Perhaps she would see her again... Turning back to the Mistress of Novices, Aliena smiled. Light, I hope she doesn't notice how dirty I am.

Aliena looked down at her dress, which had been such a pretty delicate pink before they left Caemlyn. It had been a gift from her father on her last birthday, with pretty pink slippers and a beautiful hair ribbon to match. Now, everything was covered in dirt. Her slippers look like they had always been a greyish brown,and were completely caked with dirt. The dress was an awkward grey color, minus the back, which had always been covered with her cloak. That must be interesting, having my dress two completely different colors. Even her hands were dirty, and she wished she had even just a little water to clean them. Her face was dirty too. The road had not been kind to her along their travels... but surely she couldn't be the only one that arrived dirty.

The Mistress of Novices, on the other hand, looked like a picture of grace and elegance. She had a tight bun that looked to not have a hair out of place. Her eyes were the brightest blue, making Aliena jealous. She had always longed to have blue eyes. She found it to be absolutely stunning with the dark hair, and Valeri Sedai was proof that her jealous was well placed. She had the Ageless skin, which was smooth and fair. Perhaps when I am an Aes Sedai, I shall look that elegant.

The Aes Sedai beckoned for her to take a seat in the chairs, and she did so, smiling. "Valeri Sedai, hello!" She tried to seem cheerful, but felt more like a fool. Oh lovely, she was already making a fool out of herself, and she had just arrived.

Oh my goodness, it would make the colored hem turn white, and she would become a Novice in all white again!

As long as she over heard the words "Someone should dye Accepted Gera's dress ___" She would offer to do it, and go do it before anyone realized Aliena thought she was being helpful.

Anywho! As I have been trying to say for the past two hours, that is AMAZING! If someone mentioned to her that someone needed to dye an Accepted's dress, she would take that to be literally, and do it, hoping to please the Accepted. Aliena is very much a people pleaser, and would be expecting praise instead of punishment!

Hahaha well, while I am loving this, we also have to figure out what the prank would be! I am terrible about thinking up a prank, unless it includes adding itching powder to a dress that she was yelled at to wash or something, but that would mean she would have to have past history with the Accepted, and that is also rather mean, and I think Aliena would pull a prank more because it is fun and she thinks she is supposed to do it than to be mean!

Haha I will get access eventually, I am sure. Aliena is a little... well stupid sometimes, so if someone mentioned to her that "Novices prank Accepted", then she would think that it was something normal and do it to anyone... and then probably get caught. I would be more than happy to Prank your Accepted, as long as we can make sure that someone else puts the idea into her head!

No, I already have that post written up. I do not have the capability to post on the RP boards. The BT put in the request in Wednesday, and Elgee did it for the WT yesterday, but I still have access to nothing yet.... so no posting for me until I get put into the RP section. I am pretty sure the important peoples are all on LoA, plus they could have easily missed the BT request, and Elgee only put the WT request in yesterday, and I don't mind waiting. It is why I am planning! And I already have my first big post written on arriving at the tower, so as soon as I get added to the group, we can get the ball rolling!

I love the bewildered idea. As I have it written in her travels to the Tower RP, the Aes Sedai won't tell her anything, and the MoN will probably be looking at her like "Is this a joke?" and punish her (hint hint Amadine if you read this, you are more than welcome to IC think my character is stupid because she doesn't know what an Aes Sedai is), so she will be very upset and confused and lost.

Sounds wonderful to me! As soon as I can post on the forums, I will let you know, and we can get the ball running. For the sake of character development, might I request this happens the night that she arrives at the Tower so that she is super lonely! It would make her super happy to have someone next door that was a little more experienced and could answer some questions!

Hahaha it sounds wonderful to me! I was just mentioning to Poet that we should do something like that together. It would be amusing, having one person running back and forth across the room to pass messages! I noticed that your character has been here a little while long which would make her the Senior Novice, so you could easily lead a prank thread, or something like that, if you wanted to.

Hello everyone! While I know that some of you may not know who I am, I am an oldie that has been around since DM 3 (I think) and has taken the past two years off. I hope to meet everyone that has joined since I left, while still getting to write with some old friends. I am sure my old posts lurk around here somewhere, but I am starting off fresh and clean with a new novice, and I love getting my characters into trouble and dealing with punishment! I have already spoken to poetstorm about the possibility of her character and my character doing an RP together, but I am throwing this out there to everyone in general! Ideas for RPs:

Novices:

Pulling a Prank (And doing the chores)

Having a pillow fight or discussing home or whatever in our rooms (got to love those secret whisper holes!)

Whispering in the library one day while doing homework

Accepted:

Doing errands or being punished for whispering in earlier mentioned library

Once I am Accepted, which will probably be a while, I am going to want to have an RP with a Sister from each Ajah. I really have no idea which one she is destined for, and I am going to let that play out as it goes. So, Aes Sedai, keep your eyes open for that thread! She isn't stupid enough to try to pull a Prank on an Aes Sedai, so sorry you don't get to be pranked! (Unless of course you can think of something your Aes Sedai wouldn't get mad over, we can work out something to that end).

Anyone interested in reading her bio, it is located HERE. Long story short, she was completely kept locked away by her parents, and, even though she is from Andor, she has no idea of anything outside of the world of her little town. She knows really random things from various books she has snuck into her room, and until she met an Aes Sedai, she had no idea what they were. She is very naive, but not stupid, and she wants to learn!

Aria looked at her in shock for a moment, and Michelle clapped her hands over her mouth.  Oh Light, she hadn’t just said that, had she?  Oh Light Oh Light Arath was going to kill her… 

“He can what?"

This was not good.  Aria looked as though she was going to pass out and Michelle walked towards her, ready to catch her if she did so.  Aria rushed past her and went to the back door, fumbling with it.  Oh Light, where did the blasted woman think she could run?  They were completely surrounded by channeling men.  Aria gave up on that door and ran straight into… Arath.  Oh Light, could it get any worse?  Aria’s scream was the most piercing cry Michelle had ever heard and she winced, knowing this was her fault.

Arath glared at her, and Michelle felt her lowest.  Arath tried to walk towards her, to comfort the poor girl that was now practically passed out as is.  "I'm sorry you had to find out like that.  I thought it would have been better if Tai told you.  Believe me though, it doesn't change anything.  He's still the same person you knew before.  He's just ... discovered a new skill.”

If the situation wasn’t so bad, Michelle would have laughed.  He didn’t have to lie to the girl. "T-to c-channel.”   Yep, she was going to knock herself out if she didn’t breathe properly.  This whole situation was going to end up badly, she just knew it.  Light, who let her on the Farm anyways without telling her what was going on here? 

"What do I do now?" 

Arath looked helpless at the moment, looking at Michelle and then Aria.  Alright, this time she wouldn’t screw up keeping Aria calm.  Going around the counter to where Aria was shrinking away, she pulled Arath back from her.  Before the girl could dart out, Michelle walked up to her and slapped her.  The girl gasped and Michelle did it again. “Breathe.”  She could feel Arath almost ready to channel and she decided a third slap would do nothing.

Taking Aria in her arms, she pulled her to her in a hug.  “Look, nothing you can do now.  But you have found this guy you were looking for.  He is what he is, but so are you.  Would you expect him to just forget you or stand beside you if you could up and channel one day?”  Ok, bad example, but Aria seemed to be calming down some. 

Grabbing the earlier cloth off the counter, she patted Aria’s eyes with it.  “Alright now.  You already stayed one day surrounded by channeling men without being hurt.  You can last another, I am sure.  Let’s dry those eyes and smile for when Tai walks in…”
