  1. Mahdi looked a little overwhelmed, and Michelle could understand.  It was alot to take in.  "Well, sure beats sleeping under a bush!"   They both bursted into giggles, and Michelle rose, ready to take her to her room and look at clothes. Every woman felt better after wearing nice clean clothes. Or better yet, a bath.  As soon as Arath got back to the house, Mahdi could get a bath while Michelle either got Arath to wash the old clothes or else put together something real quick out of her clothes.

"It has been so long since i have had some nice new clothes! When do we get to go shopping?" SHOPPING! The simple word made Michelle grin. "On second thought, do you have something light to eat? Maybe some wine or tea?" Of course, how silly of her to not be a proper hostess.  Even after being in the slums of Caemlyn, she knew better.

"Of course!  You can leave your bags here and I am sure we have something in the kitchen."   Going down the stairs, Michelle went to the kitchen and opened up the cupboard and pulled out two mugs.  Light, where was Arath when she needed him?  Taking the kettle, she filled it with fresh water and walked out the back door, leaving Mahdi in the kitchen.  Spotting a man in black a few doors down, Michelle politely asked him to warm up the water for her.

The man obliged and a few moments later, steam came from the kettle.  She would have to get Arath to build some type of fire for her so she wasn't helpless when he wasnt around.  Going back to the house, she filled the pot with the steaming water and tea leaves before handing a full mug and sugar to Mahdi.  "These men are very useful, but I swear, I feel almost lost without Arath around!"

Speak of the devil, the front door opened and Michelle set down her mug, smiling and going to the front door.  In walked Arath, and Michelle smiled, grabbing his hand and pulling him into the kitchen, irregardless of the fact that he looked tired and dirty.  "Arath, I hope you don't mind, but I have a new friend that needs somewhere to stay."   Tai walked in the door behind him and looked just as terrible as usual.

Introducing Tai and Arath to Mahdi, she said, "Arath, and oaf, this is-"

    IC:

Rurak smiled as Shaylor did and she almost wanted to giggle and bat her eyes.  Light, this is an Army base, not a flirting ground! Straighten up, girl!  "Shaylor! Good to see you! Hey, looks like the quartermaster got you fit nicely. Just one moment, I need to go collect my arrows."   Shaylor looked down at her clothes and noted how tight they were on her figure.  So, he had noticed...

He walked to the target and she watched him fiddle with the arrows.  Shaylor had never held a bow before, let alone done archery, so this would be an interesting lesson.  At least with her sword, she knew what she was doing, albeit her knowledge was small. "All right, now as for your first question, go ahead and forget the sir. I'm never a stickler for pointless rules like that. I only enforce the sir if someone's being...well...you might guess where that thought is going."

Shaylor watched him bend over and grab the small bow she had seen laying against the fence.  Taking it as he held it out to her, she let her hand wrap around the wood securely, getting a feel for it in her hand.  "Now, I've taken the liberty of finding a bow for you. I had to make some estimates on things, such as your strength so if we need to go find you a new one we can. The bow's draw has to be fit to you so if anything feels off let me know."

Shaylor nodded and thought back to a few moments before when Rurak had been shooting the bow.  Light, he had used all his muscles in his arms, and Shaylor didn't know how much of that she had.  Maybe this wasn't such a good idea... "Your bow is shorter than mine so I needed to get you some shorter arrows...these are yours. There are a lot of things we can cover here with bows, so I'm just gonna teach you some simple bow maintenance and of course how to shoot properly on your own and in a group. I need to get a feel for how well you shoot though and what I need to teach you so if you'll just fire some shots down at that target. You don't have to hit it, I just need to see your stance and shooting more than anything."

Shaylor nodded and took the arrows in hand and let the quiver rest over her back like Rurak's was.  Taking out one arrow, she stared down at her feet for a moment to spread them apart, as if to start dashing, somewhat like Rurak's had been.  Looking at the target, she held the wood in one hand straight out in front of her , her arm parallel to the ground.  The arrow she slid against the string and held it there for a moment, her right arm bent at the elbow, and she tried to pull the arrow back to her ear to let it loose.

Unforunately, she got it not much more than half an arm's length before she felt the pain and let it loosen, seeing it get not much more than 15 paces from where she was standing.  Well, it wasn't the target, but at least it was over halfway there.  She looked down at her feet for a moment, slightly embarrased at her complete failure.  Failure was not something she could or would accept.  Looking back at the target and trying to ignore Rurak, she tried it again, only this time she started with her arm bent towards the ground to get the arrow balanced properly before raising her arms.

This arrow got a little further than the previous, and Shaylor sighed, disappointed.  This was going to be a long day.

  3. Michelle watched as Mahdi ran up the stairs to get her things, and she smiled, finally feeling at home.  It wasn't like Arath hadn't been perfectly wonderful, but having another woman around would be so amazing.  If Arath had a problem with her staying in the other room, then she would easily add another bed to the room.  The HUGE closet would serve to hold anything and everything they had.

Mahdi came dashing back down after a few minutes with a bag and linked her arm with Michelle's.  She couldn't help but laugh as they both dashed out the door and Michelle led her to Arath's home.  As they came up to the door, Michelle stopped her and opened up the door, smiling.  "I have to warn you, don't touch anything in Arath's office, or it will blow up, but otherwise, everything else is safe."

Leading Mahdi inside, Michelle first showed her the living room in all its drab.  A few chairs and a table made for much boring that Michelle still needed to fix.  Next on the tour was the kitchen which was still empty, but was next on the list of shopping for and fixing.  Excited still about the bathroom, she decided to leave that till later when Arath could warm up the water for them.

"Ok, and now we have the upstairs.  This over here is Arath's room."   Michelle slowly opened up the door to Arath's room, stepping inside as she let the scent of him hit her face.  She noticed the shirt she had worn the other day resting on his bed, and she wished to know what it was doing there.  Mahdi was looking at her strangely, and Michelle just blushed and smiled.

"And over here is my room," she said, leading Mahdi to the door across the hall.  "We can find you some dresses as soon as the tour is over!"  Down the hall they went, and Michelle glanced at Tai's door.  "Don't mess with that idiot's room.  He is half crazed already, and I just tried to avoid the big oaf."  Going over to the last door, she pushed it open, letting Mahdi take a look.

The room was as simple as the rest of the house, with just a bed, desk, chest, and closet in it.  A fine layer of dust was over everything, but the sunlight shined in and it looked like a portrait.  "No one has been here for a while, I don't think, but we can easily clean this up to look more homey.  My next "Big Spend" is going to bed proper linens and blankets for the bed as well as cleaning supplies and kitchen ware."

Michelle sat on the foot of the bed as she let Mahdi look around.  "So, what do you think?  Not too bad, considering a guy designed this place."

    Michelle

  4. Silence struck them both with Michelle's question, and she realised that she had struck a cord.  She returned to her soup, waiting for some other topic to slip into her mind.  "I have been traveling for a while now, Michelle."   She began slowly. "The destination I have been traveling towards is unimportant. My journey has brought me here and I think I may have found a friend. Right now, with all of this being so strange, a friend is what seems important."

Michelle nodded, understanding.  Friendship was what was needed to survive this place.  Men were going crazy every day and one wrong movement could land them all dead.  Friends would help her survive this place, and Mahdi had become just that.  They laughed and smiled at eachother, and Michelle immediately felt like this was a close sister she was talking to instead of a stranger.

"It seems that this place is an Army of some kind, what kind i do not care to know."  Mahdi's smile faltered, and Michelle understood the fear that the woman had seemed to have hit her.  This was an army of channeling men around them - not everyone could accept that off the bat.  Even Michelle was startled at times at how easily she had accepted this place. "I am just glad to finally have found a friend. Is there anywhere to find new clothing? My clothes have been worn thin for the last year i have been on the road."

CLOTHES! This woman had just become her best friend.  "I would love some new clothes!"  Not even finishing her soup, she giggled, rising from her seat.  "Clothes?  Well, my dear, we do not have a dress shop here, but I know someone that MAY take us shopping.  Do you prefer Caemlyn, Amadicia, or Arad Doman?"   Michelle giggled at Mahdi's shocked face, and grabbed her hand, pulling her up.

"Come back to my place with me, and we can grab a few things, then bug Arath to take us shopping.  And, if he isn't there now, you can borrow something of mine.  Wait, where are you staying?  You are so coming to my house with me!  We have an extra room that I know Arath wouldn't mind letting you have!"

    Michelle

  5. "Anywhere from Tear to Tanchico to Maradon.  Even Tar Valon if I was feeling particularly stupid.  Lugard won't be a problem."  Murandy... Michelle hadn't been there since she left over 3 years ago.  Her family was probably starting new families, and she was certain that she had numerous nieces and nephews by now.  What would her parents think of her?  She had left on an adventure, and was now three steps behind where she had been when she left.  Well, that was, until Arath stepped into the inn.

"I don't believe I'm needed here today, barring any great emergency, so after we eat we can go to the stables and grab some horses."   Horses?  What in the Light would they need horses for if they could travel straight to the city. "We might be able to cross most of the distance in a single step, but the gateways still need to be opened away from anyone's vision.  Most people don't appreciate channelers stepping in completely unannounced.  Plus the edges of the gates are very dangerous.  They can slice a blade of grass in half lengthwise, so I'd rather not take the chance that someone will be standing nearby.  We'll come out maybe a mile from Lugard, and ride the rest of the way."

A horse... Michelle missed her beautiful horse.  She had had to sell the gentle beast for food and rent when her money began to disappear.  The soup arrived and Michelle began to devour her bowl.  Light, she was so desperately hungry, she felt as though she could eat the whole inn.  Arath asked for more bowls, and Michelle felt her stomach swell, as though fat was adding on. "What?  You'll probably eat at least three.  Healing does that to you."

Chuckling to herself, Michelle went back to eating, begining to savour the flavors.  This was much better than the dirt she ate at the inn in Caemlyn.  She could certainly try her hand at working here on occasion, if Arath thought it would be ok.  "So just how much do you think you'll be needing?  Clothes, not food."   Michelle smiled at him and tried to keep her eyes off of the soup.  Light, she was still so hungry!

"Well, I was thinking about perhaps another set of breeches.  These are comfortable, at least.  Then perhaps another shirt or two, for working around the house, and perhaps a skirt to go with.  Then, I would only need one or two dresses..."   She let her voice trail off as she thought.  She had always wanted one pretty gown, but that was surely far too much and very wasteful.  She held her tongue, and instead continued on with speaking.

"Then, if it is ok, I could use another pair of shoes and some undergarments, and I think I will be ok.  I don't need much," she finished, going back to eating.  She had to make the money Arath had given her count.  She couldn't be wasteful - she was enough of a bother to him already.

    Michelle

  6. Michelle's smile was met with a shocked face, and then a smile. "Hello Michelle, my name is Mahdi."   Mahdi?  It sounded more like a name from the Borderlands or perhaps Arad Doman.  After working at the inn for so long, Michelle had begun to pick up on names and their homeland.  The same with accents.  But the name and the woman did not fit.

"Who is Arath? I arrived only last night, I'm afraid I do not know anyone. Ok, so that is not entirely true. I met a man in a black coat, Gierrin was his name. But then again, most men here seem to be wearing black coats." Michelle had to smile at a woman who had just become her best friend.  They were both so new to a foreign place that it would take both of their strengths to survive in this strange strange place.

"Ahh here comes the food. Would you like to join me for a meal?"  Michelle smiled and nodded at the waitress for another bowl.  "Yes, thank you.  I am absolutely starving."  The waitress hurried away and Michelle gave Aria a moment to sip the soup before she began talking. "Well, welcome to the Black Tower.  I know the boys call it a farm, but its really more of a School and Army Base.  And Arath is the Attack Leader.  He is third in command."

The soup arrived and Michelle thanked the waitress, handing her a coin for both soups.  "All of the men are in black coats, yes, as they see it as a sign of stature.  I think they just don't understand fashion at all."   Michelle had to giggle at her joke. "Every Civilian has a reason to be here.  I am here because Arath brought me here.  He is my friend, and I his, so we protect eachother.  What is your story?"

    Michelle

  7. Slipping out of the house, Michelle felt her stomach grumble again.  Light, how had she slept so late again?  The house was empty and she knew that Arath and Tai were probably out training, and that left her in a house with no food at all.  That was it - she was going grocery shopping as soon as possible, and probably to somewhere with FRESH food.  Lucky for her, she had an automatic transport to anywhere she wanted, and she wasn't afraid to use it.

She had glanced at her new dresses and things, wondering what to wear, and found herself in shock that she opted for the old breeches and shirt.  She had better not let Arath see her wearing her old things, as he would probably be furious and hurt she wouldn't wear what he had just bought her.  It just felt wierd to wear such pretty things.

As she slipped into the inn, a few eyes slid across her, and she looked around for a place to sit.  She could feel their eyes - this was the woman at their Attack Leader's house.  Her eyes landed on a woman off to one side, with bouncy blonde hair.  Well, she had seen most of the women here, and this one was someone new.  Sliding into the seat beside her, she smiled, saying, "Mind if I sit?  My name is Michelle.  I am Arath's friend."

    Michelle

  8. The purse of coins was between them for a moment before he shook his head no.  "It's yours.  Consider it advance payment." Advance Payment for WHAT?  Her eyes bulged open and she stared at him in shock.  If she was going to end up in his bed, it would not be for coins but because of the feeling she felt when- "If you're going to be staying here, you'll probably end up doing the cooking.  I saw how much of mine you left on your plate last night."

Michelle's cheeks burned as she heard him finish his thoughts.  Of course he wouldn't pay for her to be with him like that.  He didn't even want her like that, did he?  "Or consider it overdue payment for saving my sorry hide in Caemlyn years ago.  I never was able to return the favor, so now I am.  Please don't insult me by turning my gift aside."  Well, that was that, and she tucked the purse into the pocket on her breeches.

Arath offered her his arm and she took it, lightly placing her hand on his arm.  As he shut the door behind them, she felt the wind blow through her long dark curls, and she let her head fall back, enjoying the feeling of freedom whipping around her.  Arath paused for a moment, as if watching her, and she smiled as she looked at him.  His laugh that came was deep and happy, and she had to laugh at him, hugging to his arm for a moment as he led the way.

Their walk was silent as she took in the Farm in the daylight.  It would be an interesting  life she would lead in this strange strange place, but she knew that it would never be for lack of adventure or amusement.  As they arrived at the inn, Arath held the door open for her as they slipped inside.  The noise that had greated them as they opened the door stopped suddenly as all the men turned to look at them.  Michelle didnt know whether it was due to her in breeches or Arath with a woman, and she felt her cheeks burn bright as all the men watched them.  Arath sort of waved his hand, as if to say continue, and the low buzz of talking began again.

They found a table towards the corner, and Michelle slid onto the bench beside Arath.  A woman came up and took their order, which was Ale and the Soup for both.  Michelle had no idea what to order, so she left that up to Arath.  There was still a few eyes on them both, but Michelle ignored them and turned to Arath, smiling.  "So, I was thinking about where we could go for shopping.  No offense, but I highly doubt that you have women's dresses.  You say you can port anywhere, right?  I was thinking Lugard..."

  9. At one moment, Shaylor was trying to calm down her horse.  Rurak was near her, confused and worried, when a loud noise came from in front of them.  She looked up from Cuebiyar to see smoke and fire rise above the tree line.  Rurak began shouting orders and Shaylor looked around, frantic.  She saw the other medic that had come with them dashing away, and Shaylor knew that now, the health of all of the soldiers was in her hands.  This was her time to shine... and hopefully not die.

Racing her horse fast, she ran to the nearest tree and slid off of the saddle, tieing Cuebiyar to the tree while soothing her.  She looked at the items with her, and decided that the bow and arrow was useless.  If this was channeling men they were dealing with, then all she could really do was try and help those hurt make it back to the citadel.  Her gladius, however, remained at her side as she grabbed the medic bag and threw it onto the ground.

"Ok, fire.  And channeling.  I need salv and bandages."   Thoughts rushed through her mind as she dug through the bag and talked to herself, searching for all she would need.  Finding a can of salv, she groaned, knowing it would be no where near enough.  Also finding bandages, she looked for the last few things - water and alcohol.  Water was at the bottom of the bag and she pulled it out, tossing it into the pouch that she had stuffed the salv and bandages into. A soldier was nearby, scared to death, and she saw him pull a flask from his  pocket.  Racing to him, she grabbed it and took a sniff.  Well, brandy wasn't the best, but it was better than nothing.  That went into the pack as well.

Her bag went back onto Cuebiyar and she looked up to hear another explosion.  Rushing forward into battle, she knew where she had to go and where the damage was being done- the center frontlines.  There at the front was Rurak, and she took a moment to watch him fight.  A scream knocked her back into reality, and Shaylor knew that it was now or never.

  10. Or at least almost have a break down?  Or maybe you wanna RP an Ashie going insane, which you can then kill off?

Basically, what I need is this.  Michelle wants to learn how to use a weapon, so Arath is going to set up a sword training practice.  She is going to have her lesson with him, and flirt heavily to make Arath jealous.  The next day, he is going to attack her cause he has gone insane or whatever.  This then pushes Michelle to.... not gonna spoil the ending!

So yeah, I could of course do this alone, but its more fun with someone else!  Anyone wanna have an Ashie go insane?  You can use your current Ashie if he is on the verge of breakdown or something or just write a character that you can immediately kill off!

  11. Arath took the shirt from her as she held it out, and she almost wanted to pull it back to her so she could smell the shirt one last time.  It had felt amazing, wearing his shirt, and she hoped it wouldn't be the last time.  "Any time," he replied, and she felt her cheeks burn.  She watched as he set the shirt on his desk and she couldn't help but think of what could be going through his mind. Was he thinking that he needed to wash it?  Was he just thinking of what to do that day?  Or was he thinking about her wearing his shirt again?  Light, if only men weren't so confusing!

"Umm ... you must be starving after ... last night.  Your body did six weeks worth of healing in your arm in about six seconds.  Come on, lets go get some food."   Six weeks worth of healing... All of this power stuff was getting to be rather confusing.  "Would you rather eat here or at the inn?"  She saw his arm offered to her, and before she could stop herself, her arm was sliding into his and she had taken his warm hand.  They both stood still for a moment before she pulled away.

"I umm..." she stumbled for words.  Why had she just taken his hand instead of just resting her hand on his arm?  "I need to grab something from upstairs, but I'll be right back!" she said, turning away and running out of the room.  Her feet continued to carry her up the stairs and then into her room.  Shutting the door behind her, she leaned against it, her heart racing and her breath heavy.  What was happening to her?  This was her Arath!  And she was not some heartsick girl!

Going to the chest, she grabbed out her boots and pulled them on, then went to the desk and grabbed her comb.  Pulling it through her hair, she found herself wondering how Arath would like it.  Would he want it free and loose, or perhaps in a braid?  What about back with a Ribbon, or maybe pinned up?  She simply left it down, the long thick waves laying softly on her back.  She grabbed the purse he had given her and held it before herself.  She couldn't accept this.

Going back down the stairs, she smiled to Arath as he stood in the kitchen, waiting for her.  "You spoke of this inn last night.  Can we try that?"   He nodded his head, and she held out the purse of coins.  "And this I cannot accept.  It is generous, but I can't take this from you."

    Michelle

  12. Arath met her with a smile then stuttered as he saw her clothing.  Michelle’s cheeks burned red and she wanted to shrink away as he looked away.  As soon as those pants were clean, they were going straight onto her body.  "Sure.  It won't take a minute." He took the ball of clothing that she offered to him and turned away.  Michelle looked into the kitchen and grabbed an apple off the counter out of a bowl.  Light she was starving!

As she walked back to the office, she saw a ball of dirty water go flying out the window and almost choked on her apple.  She was going to have to get more used to this power.  He held them up for both to see And she smiled to see them perfectly clean.  He had even flattened them and she accepted them as he handed them over. "There we go.  I hope that will do for you.  I've been trying to figure out a weave that will prevent clothes from getting dirty, but I haven't perfected it yet.  Lost one of my coats to it."

Taking the pants, she noticed his eyes sliding down from where his shirt ended to her long legs.  Her cheeks turned a bright red and she dropped the shirt onto his desk before pulling the pants on.  The slid up perfectly and as she attached the clasp, she looked up to see him watching her fingers.  Michelle realized that, with his shirt pulled up, her stomach was exposed.

She let her shirt stay up for a moment so he could see the cream of her stomach before she turned away from him.  Breathing slowly and praying for courage, she pulled his shirt off over her head and grabbed the shirt off the desk, pulling it over her head.  She was still covered by the bindings, but irregardless, it was scandalous.  Pulling her hair out from under the collar, she handed his shirt to him.  “Thank you for letting me borrow this.”

    Michelle

  13. Their eyes met for a moment, and it looked as though Arath was petrified.  He slid off the bed and stepped away from her, and Michelle’s heart fell.  Why had she even dared to think that for half a second, he would be anything like most guys?  He didn’t want her for her body, nor to use and leave.  He wanted friendship!  She had to chastise herself for being so stupid, and let him fumble for words.  She had to get her mind on straight as well.

"I can't ... I don't ... I ... don't want you to ... Please.  This is awkward for me."  She nodded, and slowly rose from the bed.  “Ok, I am sorry.  I didn’t mean to make you… nervous,” to say the least.  “I am going to take bed I think.  Good night,” she said, before turning away from him and pulling back her hair with a ribbon.  She had to blink away the tear as one slid down her face, and she heard him leave the room.  Why did men have to be so confusing?

    Michelle

  14. “Oh, Light,” she moaned, rolling over in the bed.  She felt like a boat had hit her or something, and she was hungrier than she had ever imagined being before.  The night before rushed through her head and she looked down to see she was wearing Arath’s shirt.  Sitting up in the bed, Michelle brushed back the long dark hair that had fallen into her face and looked out the window.  The sun was high and she could see it was just past noon.  Lying back on the bed, she groaned, not wanting to move.  She had promised Arath she would stay, but that was going to take a lot more doing than saying.

Rising from the bed, Michelle stretched, her arm straining a bit.  Whatever Tai had done to her, it had fixed the injury, but still made her feel invaded.  This power thing was scaring her more than she thought, as having it used AGAINST her was a terrible hold that she never wanted to experience again.  Her eyes looked around her new room and she noticed her dirty clothes all balled up.  She needed to wash those.  Going to the chest to see what was left, she stumbled onto the money that Arath had given her.

SHOPPING! That would make her feel SO much better!  She looked around for any clothes to wear, but decided it was time to start accepting this power that her friend possessed.  Picking up the shirt and breeches from the night before, she brushed back her hair before opening up her door.  Looking out into the hallway, she first checked Arath’s room.  It was empty.

Going down the hallway, she looked in Tai’s room.  Empty as well, thank the Light.  Michelle slipped down the staircase and into the living room, shivering as the cold air soaked into her bare legs.  She suddenly felt very naked, wearing only Arath’s shirt.  It came down to mid thigh, but she felt almost more confident knowing that fact.  The kitchen was empty, and she noticed that his office door was slightly cracked open.

Peaking in the gap, she saw Arath, staring at a book, running his fingers through his hair.  She stood there for a moment, watching him, before he looked up to see her through the doorway.  She pushed it open and smiled at him. “Good morning,” she whispered, their eyes meeting.  Suddenly, the confidence from being half naked was gone. “Is there any chance you can wash my clothes from last night?  You said you could do it, and I need something to wear if I am going to go looking for new clothes.”

    Michelle

OOC: Tai, I think he has plans of making you come along once they decide to visit some cities.  We will poke you when it is your turn to pop in!

  15. LOL He didn't explain that properly!  The people that are "targets" would know that they are targets.  The people that are not targets would think that ANYONE could be a target, and know that it was going to happen.  If EVERYONE knew who the targets were, they would be looking around all the time around these people for the snipers.

  16. Quibby, it was far from a Declaration of War.  We were bored, you didn't respond when we waited to hear back from you, so we did a thread!  It has been fun, and is still fun as it is going, and we would love to see more of those, hopefully with you involved.  Your inactivity has made it awkward for us to be able to have more of these RPs.  That is all we are saying.
