Great blog, but I think Tolken said that the Lord of the Rings had no relevence to the real world. And it rather annoyed him when people kept speculating on what its real relevence was. He admitted that his experences in WW1 coloured his writting abit but LotR had nothing to do with trench warfare, Nazi Germany ect. I think in the end he was just writting a good story.
