Gotta vote Quick Ben here, sorry. Perrin's toast.

Here's the quote I meant, btw: "Will there be more books after the trilogy? Absolutely. Growing up, I always hated it when an author created a world and characters for you to fall in love with, then walked away from it. My world is bigger than this single story. There are places on the map yet to be explored. Characters who only make brief cameos in this trilogy will have larger roles in the works to come. Honestly, I think I could write stories in this world forever. " http://www.patrickrothfuss.com/content/interviews.asp (whole thing is here) Doing that interview with him was a blast. A lot of the best stuff from that interview (IMO) never made it into the final cut, because it wasn't really in PW's wheelhouse, but he really talked a lot about the craft of writing. It's why we brought him in for that awesome Q&A with the ACW back in 2007

Luckers, its worth mentioning a few things.
1) when the first book came out, Pat was sure he had already finished the trilogy. A bit of editing, but the books would come out one a year. The long break between books 1 & 2 is, to me, an indication of how much he's grown as a writer. Considering the level he started at, that's impressive.
2) you aren't kidding about the worldbuilding. When I interviewed him, Pat mentioned that he had developed entire societies that wouldn't even show up on-screen in the trilogy, iirc.
3) he's also a true fantasy fan. One of the things he mentioned was hating the feeling of abandonment you get when a writer stops writing in a world you love to read about. Now, he may end up with a different pov as a writer. But I would expect more tales in the same setting after kvothe's is done
