I think most of the romance in the stories are basically "s/hes hot, think I'm in love".
Nynaeve and Lan seems the oddest one to me. He loves her coz she can follow his trail, she has daddy issues.

I was shocked at Egwene dying, even after Gawain died. Killing off such a major character halfway through the book! After everything shes done and gone through and learned throughout the series and she gets snuffed?
I can understand Cadsuanes reaction to becoming Amyrlin; Shes the fourth in 2 years. That doesn't exactly shout security

Reminded me a lot of Mass Effect 3; wholesale destruction, lots of my favorite characters dying. Egwene biting it was a shock. Can't say I particularly liked it (got too attached to the world to want it to burn) but I enjoyed it

Its all about their body language. Warders are always alert, always ready to attack or defend, much like a wolf will lounge or play yet retain its look of quick violence

Still no love for Herid Fel in here. Come on, he was awesome; highly intelligent, eccentric and good taste in women (I always liked Min :-P). He helped Min grow into a scholar, helped Rand grasp deeper meanings of being the Dragon Reborn and his death was one of the catalysts of the 2 of them hooking up. The effects of what he and Rand talked about in the short bit of time he was around will probably win him the Last Battle.

Come to think of it, Fain has probably been the most successful villain in the series, and in some ways the most scary. The scouring of the Two Rivers, theft of the Horn, almost killing Rand, successfully ambushing Rand, corrupting Pedron Niall and Elaida. The guy can stay one step ahead of everyone and nail a fde to the wall, literally.
And going by what I read in ToM hes only gonna get better.

Am I the only one that likes Fain? Can't go past a good crazy villain.
I also like that Seanchan general that Perrin meets, but I can't remember her name.
Didnt like Nynaeve for a while there but now she grown up shes awesome.
Can't say I know anyone who hates Herid Fel, except the forsaken who sent the gholam of course.

Reading the author Joe Abercrombie, guy does the least heroic heroes I've ever read.
Just finished reading "Call the Midwife"for a bookclub. Worth a read if you can get it, and don't mind graphic details about childbirth

LoC Chapter 55 "Dumai's Wells"
Amen, the scale of that battle was WOAH! Not just the best chapter in the series but probably one of the best in any book

Dresden Files by Jim Butcher

right, ok hands down the french win the crappieness contest.
And yeah ok the details on TSH are horrific yeah, but i loved it mostly for the scenery,a nd the wagon....just seeing that cover takes me right back to old skool WoT books that i loved more than life itself.....details are pretty mince though :/
Does that French TDR cover have an actual dragon on it?
And the second one looks like someone ripped off a piece of medieval tapestry

Just read Hate List by Jennifer Brown for my Book Club. Wasn't sure I'd enjoy it as its aimed towards young adults and deals with the aftermath of a school shooting. I did enjoy it though, and I'd recommend it, but its not really a light read.
Also re-read Good Omens. Still funny as heck.
Trying to read Game of Thrones, but its not really holding my interest well.
Next up is re-reading all Jeff Lindseys "Dexter" novels
