Excepts Cads might drop dead anytime, how will she do a long term transition?
Seems obvious to me that Cadsuane will quickly drop the oaths when she figures out it will (at least) triple her life span. Most of the old guard that were adamant about keeping the oaths (Romanda, Suian, Egwene) are dead. I'm sure Sharina will be against holding the rod once she gains the shawl and gets that big ol automatic boost of respect.
And with Cadsuane's friendship with Sorilea and the respect of the other Wise Ones, and her hold over the Windfinders (I bet Harine will be THRILLED to become Mistress of Ships after hearing who the new Amyrlin is), Cadsuane will easily surpass Egwene in terms of badassery.

An Aes Sedai rules one third of the Westlands, and they have more pull on the independent factions than any other group. The Aiel have already shown respect for Cads, Nynaeve, and Elayne. Androl (who, as far as i can tell, is the second most influential person in the Black Tower) is bonded to an Aes Sedai, and it is likely those two groups will integrate. Tear and Illian have already shown that they still bow to the will of the Amyrlin Seat, that's why they were at the FoM in the first place. The Windfinders are devoutly opposed to the Seachan. Elayne has a small claim on Saldea, and the Queen of Malkier is another Aes Sedai. The White Tower, right now, is strong. And there's no reason to believe it won't be the center for learning and channeling for the next few hundred years, since the Aiel and Windfinders are likely to maintain their own, separate cultural identity and the Seachan are gonna have a hard time getting that rule.My point being that the White was the single most important insitution in the third age.Is it in the same position in the fourth age?. Absolutely not. Cairhien and Andor are ruled by one AS. Altara is ruled by the Seachan not any AS.
The power of the WT in the third age was tht fact tht no other group could use the OP openly. Once that monoploy was broken, the WT was on the way down.
And the future doesn't matter to this discussion, since we are talking about the authority of the Amyrlin Seat right now, not down the line.
Edit: "Has influence over" is not the same as "rules". The White Tower doesn't rule the Black Tower, but they are more likely to be able to affect what the Black Tower is doing than any other group, at present.
Elayne has no claim on Saldea, she has a very small connection to it. With Perrin giving stewardship of the Two Rivers to Tam, and his and that chit's ascension to the throne, Ghealdan is no longer tied to Elayne either. Its only an alliance by desire now.

One thing that really dissapoints me about BSs treatment of Egwene in the last 2 books is his lack of love for the character. It's really evident in the way he writes her and Gawyn that he doesn't understand what motivates of drives them.
Case in point, Rand and Perrin both got to reconnect with their Emond's Field father figures before heading off to the last battle or before their last fights. In doing so they got reminded of their roots. Egwene was constantly aware of her roots in earlier books, making decisions as Amyrlin basd on advice or annecdotes she got from her father about how to be Mayor. Instead Sanderson writes her as an ego-maniac who doesn't even have a moment of softness for her own Husband.
Actually, Egwene said in ToM that she refused to marry Gawyn without her parents there. When she's thinking of the marriage in AMoL, I don't remember her thinking anything about her parents being absent from the ceremony, so I will assume they were there.

Regarding cuendillar: I never thought of it, but she used spikes of pure iron from the earth to make lightning rods... why not make a huge iron wall and cuendillar it in front of her people to stop the balefire?
Would've been a tad awesome, especially since the only thing that can destroy heartstone is the DO. A quick shield to block a BF strike from Taim, that quickly disintegrates.. then another.. a fun race to save her people until THEN she figures out the Flame of TV weave to kill him.

If anyone from the two rivers dies, I think it should be egwene. i like nynaeve too much to want her to die, braid tugging aside.
well i got something right at least... was just surprised at how much i teared up over it, this sniffer really grew on me.

Graendal, is the sexiest woman in WoT.
I'd fall in love with Elayne for sure. I'm a total sucker for deep blue eyes.
Beer to Beer high five. o/\o

The doesn't exist crowd brought it up, they put forward the theory, therefore the burden of proof lies with them. With you.
And I have yet to see you post proof that they do exist. If you haven't learned to use google by this point, I suggest giving away your modem.
Do you have evidence to support your assertion? So far it amounts to "they doesn't exist."
there are no violet eyes or silver hair, its that simple. What you mean is "I've never met anyone with those characteristics, therefore they can't exist."As for Google, it brings up this site, saying "Violet eyes are extremely rare. However, they do occasionally occur." Urban Dictionary tells us that "The appearance of violet eyes is thought to occur from the mixing of red and blue reflections. Some albinos have eyes that appear violet. Violet eyes are genetically similar to blue eyes (i.e., they are a reflection, pigment, or variant of blue). Violet eyes are extremely rare; some people remain convinced that it is impossible to have violet colored eyes. However, violet eyes are commonly found in a few remote and high altitude areas of northern Kashmir and remote areas in Afghanistan.
Contrary to popular belief, Violet Eyes exist, but are extremely rare. Even more so than non-albino red eyes.
Violet eyes are actually so rare that many people doubt they even exist, because they've never seen violet eyes." While the evidence for them not existing is still "I've never seen them, therefore they don't exist". Where's your Google search? I'm sure we can find a good home for your modem.
Martin-Schultz scale. The list of colours for this scale is Amber, Blue, Green, Gray, Hazel, Brown, and "Red". I quoted red since its nothing more than the blood vessels and not the actual colouring of the eye.
I can provide photographic proof coinciding with these colours. All I've seen from you is a link to some ditzy makeup woman saying "oh yes they do exist, this is how you make them pretty!". I do believe photographic evidence trumps hearsay.
Its even been stated that Liz's "violet" eyes were nothing more than a trick from the film of the day.

they look blue in this photo.

"violet" eyes are really blue, and "silver" hair is just a shade of gray.. which is just the absence of melanin in hair.
As for Tuon's ethnicity. She's "african". As are the sea folk, possibly Tairens as well, though I think they're closer to "indian". Rahvin is "indian". All one has to do is read the rest of the physical descriptions, he makes it quite obvious.

I think it was because Elaida simply thought that Moiraine and Siuan could become very great Aes Sedai that could aid the Tower in the conflict she did know was coming. Therefore, she wanted to push them as hard as possible to make sure they became Aes Sedai.
I'd wager that she hates them because they chose Blue Ajah. I mean, Reds and Blues hate each other. Even if she didn't start hating them right away, 20 years of Ajah conflicts probably did the trick.
I'd have to go through New Spring again, but I swear Ellid had just as much potential. This is why I didn't understand Elaida's helping them.
If she wanted to help strong students, she would have included Ellid. My impression from reading, she only included Suian because she was Moiraine's friend and they were together... it was Moiraine she wanted to gain the shawl.
Sure I can understand this is a setting for her animosity for the two 20yrs later, but the WHY she would at all is what gets me. I just can't figure it out.

Oh, and irrelevant but as for the word 'yank', in Britain we do use the term often as a slang word for 'American'. It tends to mean all Americans in general here rather than just those of the northern states as it does in the USA.
Originally brits used yankee as a disparaging term for new englanders. Just another reason why bostonians hate the new york yankees. ;)

Did anyone else pronounce Thom with an emphesis on the "Th"? It wasn't until like the second or third book until I realized it was supposed to be "TOM". Lol, I felt so dumb after that one.... but yeah, this is how I pronounce them:
lol.. well my middle name is Thomas, so I assumed the H was silent.
But I had a friend named Thom that I've called THom and not Tom, so it doesn't seem to unnatural to me.

Only problem about that is the fact that we don't hear about her trying to help anyone else.
Remember that Ellid had just almost as much potential, did almost everything right the first time.. and didn't make it out of the testing. If Elaida had trained her as well, maybe she would've survived.
-
I pronounce it however it feels most comfortable for me.
If RJ had wanted it pronounced a certain way, he should've spelled it a hell of a lot more phonetically correct.
taim = tah-eem? dude was on serious drugs.
tame, ayvee-enduh, ale, mwar-ayne, ee-gwen, shawn-chan, kwen-dill-ar
yadda yadda

Why on earth would Elaida want Moiraine/Siuan to pass the test she would go to such lengths?
Did she have the hots for Moiraine? Maybe she wanted them to feel a sense of gratitude after they pass, but for why?
Just doesn't fit in with "Elaida".

No, they didn't. And they even made an agreement should Perrin and chit get the throne. There's a connection, but Elayne has no claim on Saldea, nor does she have any control over Ghealdan, Alliandre is sworn to Perrin.. Perrin never transfered that to Elayne in any POV I saw. Once Tenobia and the Basheres died, it became Elayne with Andor and Carhien and Perrin with Saldea and Ghealdan.
