Hello all,

I accidently deleted my Sig and now need a new one. If any of my bondeds see this and have 'ours' I would love to have them back. If not, I would love a new one made. I would want something that reps the Green Ajah - if there is a person should be a girl with brown hair, blue eyes (if noticable) fancy dress. But really just looking for something kinda darkish and fun.

what kind of character are you thinking of making?

The first step is to make up a formal bio for your character for approval. 
 

this description will help you get a handle on some nuances of your character and help introduce the character to us. It will also help ensure that your character falls in line with things that would be found in the world. I.e. not a dinosaur or a trolloc Aes Sedai. 
 

once you have the bio completed, you can submit it for a review/approval by the staff.  If there’s any issues with it, then we will let you know where we think things need to be adjusted and as soon as it is good to go, we will get you set up with an RP so we can get playing.

if you want any assistance or direction, feel free to ask and I would be happy to help you out.

And if you want to just give a quick blurb here while you’re working on the full bio, it would be cool to note your idea.

The format for the bio should look something like this:

what kind of RP adventure is it that you are looking for?

We have the New Beginnings board: a full Wheel of Time based world where you can make your own character and play out the life of that character within the world. It is a grandscale situation, and you can be any type of character in the world. There is a structured advancement program to help develop your character from a Beginning level Character all the way up to a master of whatever group they join. You can play by yourself or we do have people to play with and people to help you get through the structured ranks.

If you were looking for something a little more loose and fun and free, we do have the campaigns board where you can join in to any ongoing RP’s if the person who created it is agreeable to that, (some of them will be closed and limited) or you can start your own adventure based on anything you can imagine. 
 

Let us know what you are looking for, and we can put you in the right direction and help you get started!

A key battle is happening or on the horizon. And it is not so far out of the events of the books that we do not know the state of the world and the One Power.

 

Either done as a trad RP (book like events) or even maybe as a Game of Thrones like drama focused on the individuals inside Malkier near the fall with the world as a backdrop.

that sounds like it could be really fun. Anything that’s not in the timeline of the new beginnings RP would be posted in the campaigns board. 

There is basically free range to play whatever you want there. If you start the RP, then you are in control of who can play with you and the rules as you make them are up to you.

Using the campaign boards, would also save you from having to create the bio and go through the structured training RP’s before jumping right into your planned storyline. 
 

Feel free to make a post here or on the campaigns board outlining your RP plan to see if there’s others around wanting to join you, and feel free to just start our peeing on the campaign board in Character if you would like.

I would probably suggest for you joining the new beginnings RP world. You can make a warder character there and then play out different RP’s to have that character go through training and then go out on missions. Even meet another player to become their warder. There is some structure on the warder training which you would have to play with another person to complete, but lots of opportunity to create your own adventures and play them out with other people and other characters.

The first step with that would be to write up a bio outlining the history of your character describing why they want to be a Warder. There are examples in the new beginnings board of other previous bios if you want an example of how to start, and I can get you some more direct instruction from someone to help you with the bio if you would like.

This seemed to fizzle out. But we’re doing a refresher on the group and would love to get you guys started up!

Portal Stone Adventures / One-Shot Campaigns

Do you have an idea for a WoT adventure (or even non-WoT) you want to run, and you just want to jump in and get started? This board is the easiest to get started in, as you set the timeline and rules in a make-your-own-adventure style campaign. Basically, you act in the role of DM in your own RP thread--you start a relevant OOC/Info/Recruiting thread, and then an IC/RP thread where people will write. You and a friend can set up your own adventure and have at it, or you can invite random people to join. How you do it is totally up to you!

RP - New Beginning

This is our current, large-scale structured RP. To join and be able to post, you must read the rules and come up with a character. This RP currently takes place a few years before the Dragon Reborn proclaims himself, allowing people to simply enjoy the world of the Wheel of Time before it all descends into large-scale Light vs Dark chaos. It is possible to bring in old characters from previous on-Dragonmount RP (the so-named Legacy RP) here too.

RP - Legacy

RP on Dragonmount goes back to the near founding of the site, and that timeline and setting has, to our best ability, been saved here in RP Legacy. This board is only for people who want to pick up their old characters in the old Legacy setting. Nothing new can be started here, and people who want a large-scale structured RP should join the RP - New Beginning instead.

Greetings members both old and new!

With the show coming out and attracting new fans (and bringing back old ones!) it only seemed appropriate to begin a completely new Roleplay world and club--one that turns back the Wheel to a beginning; that is, Bel Tine in the year 998 NE. 

This new RP will be based on the show and, in general, will follow along the timeline there, albeit on a slower pace as RPs do.

Right now, we are seeking both players, and staff to set up the world and get it going!

Therefore, if you are here to experience the world of The Wheel of Time from a new beginning, please do head over to our new RP Club, The Wheel of Time - Roleplay (A New Beginning).

As you may know, for many years we have had RP at Dragonmount, pretty much since its inception back in the 1990s. Between that long time frame and the 15 books of The Wheel of Time that have been released over the years, you can imagine that almost everything in the books has already happened in our Legacy Roleplay Group though with our own twist on it. This group is still active and will continue to be a fun place for long time fans to play in a well established world. So I’m a nutshell, the In Character staff positions are Non Player Characters (so we don’t have to retire people every time players go inactive). So Valerie is the character MoN. 
 

right now, staff is low and there is no active MoN moderator to oversee and help out. 
 

That said, I am around to help out and we will be sprucing things up around here in the coming weeks.

For the time being, I’m happy to help you if you want to pop over to PMs and we can work out directing you through the boards and getting back into it from there.

personally, I agree with Taymist about the best option being to start with the simplest character. It will be easiest for you to get on to the complex system for the in character and out of character requirements.

Fyi, yes we do have systems in place to be able to make characters from every group/culture found in the books, but it’s recommended them that you start with one or two until you get your feet under you.

Yellow/black or Green? What would you like?

I have a green sister who is based almost entirely off of me as a real person, with the distinct difference that there’s no way in hell I would ever enter into an actual battle. She is my first character and my most developed character she is also my name said Kathleen. She Has an NPC warder Who would be around for most retro very very early retro, and there is an in character Retro/almost main timeline/slightly undetermined period of bonding with Elessar (hides sheepishly our of embarrassment and disappointment in herself). 

I also have a yellow sister who was a very devoted and motivated sister with a history of travelling the world and ambitions to rise high in the tower. She has very recently in the meantime line turned to the black  and has luckily had some pretty good luck in finding companions.  Any retro she would be a yellow Any meantime line she could beAny main timeline she Would be black but she can still play yellow to save her life. 

 Due to inactivity I have also taken over the duties of many of the out of character heads, which I am certainly willing to play if need be but as they are not my characters I prefer to avoid them when possible.

Outside of the tower I have a child of the light who is still in her training days her name is Katrina I think I forget it’s in my siggy  rotation And because I am on mobile I cannot see it so now I feel really bad that I can’t remember my own character but it has been a very long time since I’ve played her.

I also have an aiel Dreamwalker Who  I have also only taken through training.

I have three Aes Sedai. Jagen of course is my main; I've been on and off RPing her since 2001. My most developed, yet I haven't actually included her in many RPs outside the Tower. She also prefers to hunt for corruption of Power but also Darkfriends; she ties them closely together in her mind, though.

Celestine, my newly raised Yellow, is newish. I've had her for some years but due to lack of activity I haven't been able to do much with her until the past two years. While I feel comfortable RPing her, I don't know how actually attached to the character I feel.
I've always wanted a White Ajah character, so I made Astradore, too. I have only had her in one RP so far and really feel I need to play her more.
But also, more and more I really want a Brown. I also want a character to end up going Black Ajah, but none of my current ones would do so, I think. They're all pretty innocent. And if I made a Brown I feel she'd be pretty innocent too--I would love, however, a Verin-type situation where joining was unwilling. ( @Kathleen, can you work with me on this? ? )

 

I also have two Seanchan characters, but I only get to use them so much due to a lack of Seanchan players (but there is an RP in the works with the CoL!). A sul'dam (or der'sul'dam, forgot what she is) named Cura, and a so'jhin named Meissa. Both form the same House so it makes planning and executing RPs very easy.

 

Honestly, I spend more time collecting an organizing info than RPing, because I stress less about what I'm going to do or write, but I like both! Dragonmount was my first ever RP community so I wanna keep playing ?

 Arie hit the nail on the head. We do have a three character limit and because of anticipated increase in activity around these parts I am reluctant to alter that.

That said I’m sure we can work out someway  to move forward with setting you up with a new character. Be it temporary retirement, a blood oath/ offering up of your first born/or a gift to please me that you won’t write as one of your other characters for X amount of time. Something we can discuss in another location to work out the details.

At the end of the day the rules are in place to ensure everyone has a good time. If you make three characters and then decide you’re no longer motivated to use them, I’m not gonna hold you back from finding a character you would be motivated  to use.

If you were looking to find a way to sway your existing characters into the black ajah, I’m sure I could help you with that ? and I do have a brand spanking new PC black who would be absolutely head over heels to recruit, and I’m also the out of character head so I’m sure something could be arranged.   

 As far as books go, there’s no way in hell I would’ve been in green. I am so afraid of conflict verbally, emotionally, and physically. I could not handle any kind of actual battling.

On the other hand I am super big into good/bad, right/wrong, justice, laws, order, Clerical work. My day job is literally a legal assistant. I would be gray ajah 1000%. Period

Technically speaking the hierarchy would put it at my feet but admin can do anything I can do and I’m not offended in the slightest. I’ll kick it over to tay if she wants to rock it. 

In my accepted days I was very much split between Red and Green. It seems everyone I knew had no doubt I was green but I certainly did resist. I really enjoyed the reds and spent equal time between the boards and really dreaded the decision of which one to pick. 

Eventually I had a moment where it settled comfortably when I was faced with two very simple questions: 1) if I could only ever post in one board again which board would it be. 2) which board do I post in first when I have something important to share like Good news or bad news. 

The first question seemed impossible to think about, but the second one got the ball rolling. I realized that I went to the greens to share my news and I went to the Reds to get my entertainment (not that I wasn’t thoroughly entertained by the greens-who wouldn’t be??).

Knowing what I would do if I had to be limited to only one forever made the choice come to me. I’m grateful that I wasn’t limited to it and still welcome to be as active in the Reds as a Green as I ever was as an Accepted. 

Time is the ultimate factor in knowing that I made the right choice for me. I have grown and changed so much since I joined this website a decade ago. And I don’t remember the last time I was actively involved in anything in any Ajah but I have always lurked in the Greens. 

Even during the the last few of my active years I was definitely drawn more to the Greys than the Reds for my downtime/playtime/venturing out time. 

The Greens have remained home throughout and even with my lurking status and the members coming and going I know the Greens can always find me when they want/need me and I still feel comfortable to reach out to them when I have life changes and they always accept me in as if I never left.

If the roster isn’t getting too full I would be interested in getting my green or yellow involved. Depending on timeline the yellow is black. Current is black, retro is straight up yellow.

I am so sorry for your loss and all the struggles that have come with it. Anything we can do to help I am more than willing to do.

I know this goes without saying but with people jumping in I trust everyone will respect that this will be yours to lead how you want.
