  1. All of them listed are awsome.I must add my own, some of them have already been mentioned...but here they are.

1: "I had long wondered," lan said to Tam. "About the man who had given Rand a heron-marked blade.I had wondered if he had truly earned it.Now I know."Lan raised his own sword in salute.  Very powerful scene for me. Tam, a soldier who learned not to like it but never forgot.

2: "That one you have tried to kill many times,Rand said, that one who lost his kingdom, that one from whom you took everything...."

That man,Rand shouted. That man still fights. Another scene that made me stop reading and re-gather some sense of control. I asked Brandon at the Milford,NH signing if Rand brought back Lan, certain he had died. He smiled and said," that's a really good question. There really is no answer. What do you think ?" My response was "Yes he did." So much had been taken from his ( Rands ) friends, he was not willing to let his friend go without knowing true peace. Not willing to let Nyn suffer the heart ache. Lan died, but he battled Shai'tan for his friends life and WON.

3: "I am Birgitte Silverbow," Loved the " Elayne blinked, looking up at him.Something silvery jutted from the front of Mellar's chest. It looked like.....an arrowhead.

             Come on,that was awsome!!!

    4: CHAPTER 38 !! All of it !!!

5: Cornered and alone, a boy huddled.......

Terrified, crying bloodied, the boy raised a golden horn to his lips.

This still makes me shiver and the eyes water.

There are many, many more. Oliver laughing while riding with Noal. Mat sending Hawkwing to talk to Tuon.

    Just so many....

  2. Too many awesome things to list. Even some Faile bits which i was very surprised by.

but two stood out for me. Somewhat similar but also different.

Lan vs Demandred. Loved the buildup. You knew it was going to be glorious no matter how it turne out. Riding down a corridor cleared by longbows, facing a dude that already beat Galad and Gawyn. I almost said taishar Malkier out loud.

Perrin and Lanfear in the cave. The whole book i was wondering what was up with Lanfear helping Perrin. That healing gave me real bad vibe. When Lanfear leaves Perrin to later and he feels so sad about that it clicked- compulsion. And then he gets to the cave in the most crucial moments. And Lanfear is there. And they start walking deeper together. Nononono. "You kill that one, i kill this one". For a moment i forgot that this is not the kind of book that would make one of the main protagonist do that sort of thing. Pure dread. And then- snap. Magnificent. Straightforward, No dancing about, just snap. Done. Perhaps even anticliactic to some. Brilliant.

I did say it out LOUD !!

  3. Well as the vision reads, Min looks at Thom and sees " a man, not him juggling fire". I can read that as Mat. As someone else pointed out he is very adept at juggling and Thom has commented on that before."and the White Tower". You could possibly read that as the Seachan. Now wait a minute before I get hammered about this. Mat is now part of the Chrystal Throne, Tuon also knows she can learn to channel, why not Mat with his Two Rivers ties to Egewene, not being able to "juggle" some sort of peace between them. Someone mentioned the Seachan and the oath rod. Well there is a binder for ALL female channelers that could be made as a new oath that the WT and Seanchan could agree on.

OK let the whole punching begin...:)

  4. About the "Fat Man" angreal,@ Cem Onal, I thought Sevanna had gotten it when she had the Shaido attack the party holding Rand and took it from one of the captured Aes Sedai but can't seem to find it anywhere. Which means I was probably wrong in this respect and she never had it. ( @ fanolan,Yes I am aware she had/has one of the "call boxes") I did find a small section on Rand wondering if the coat he was wearing when captured actually had it in the pocket. He seemed to remember changing coats in a rush and does'nt recall if he actually transfered it. If he did not, that might mean it was in his room that got blasted and some worker clearing rubble might have come across it. Assuming nobody searched his room after he was taken and found it ( like Min who very likely forgot about it in her distress of his kidnapping ).

    Just tossing this out...

  5. There is alot of thoughts about this topic so I thought I'd put mine here. I just read something interesting about that...I'll thin the wording a bit but it was in CoT pg.225 with Perrin talking with Elyas..

Elyas tells Perrin:" They were wolves, once. The souls of wolves, anyway, caught and twisted by the shadow." he goes on,"Worse, if they fail(to kill the Darkhound) the Darkhound can eat the souls of those that aren't quite dead yet, and in a year or so, there'd be a new pack of Shadowbrothers that did'nt remember ever being wolves."

Perrin asks Elyas,"Can they eat a man's soul, Elyas ? Say a man who can talk to wolves?" Elyas shrugged. An answer to that question might come only at the point of death.

So my thought is Perrin will die, almost, and have the Shadowbrothers start to consume his soul and Fail will kill Perrin. Thus having Egewens dream of the Falcon come true and the "Broken Crown".

    Thoughts ????

  6. I was making a list during my re-reads, that I have since "missed placed"..

1st : Logain kills Taim, reunites the Black Tower and...

1a : upon Rands death, since there has to be a Dragon to battle the Dark One, becomes the lights champion as the pattern will demand and will recieve the title Teramerylin (?)

2nd: The end will be.." As wittnessed and recorded by Loial, son of..., son of...."

3rd: Mat, after the defeat of the DO wil board a Seachan ship with Tuon and sail to Seandar to restore order.

    Those are my main ones.

  7. Yes, Nyneve healing madness. One of the Asha'man in Tear then tried it on Rand and could'nt but his "black lines" were all covered in white.Semi was supposed to know all kinds of stuff about the mind but I believe I read she could'nt heal madness.

  8. Let's see... she went thru the doorway grappling with Lanfear, it's possible she got some of her memories, ala Rand and Moridin, by having thier channeling (or just holding the source) cross wires. So that would be the memories.

It only happened with Rand/Moridin because it was balefire and one of them was channeling the TP.

Right. But like I said, what if it happened. We don't know anything yet.

  9. About Lanfear? How could she possibly have? Her possible sources are libraries in Tear and Cairhien and the terangreal in Rhuidean. I know Aes Sedai aren't very popular in Tear but I doubt they'd deny access to one for their royal library. Cairhienin should simply consider themselves lucky that White Tower don't commandeer their entire library. It's not beyond them. And Rhuidean, well there is not much history to go through there. I just don't see Moiraine learning much about Lanfear specifically.

Well she knew about Asmo. All along she knew by her letter to Rand. She had so many secrets who can really say. Even Perrin was always suprised by her knowlege at times about things that others had said was lost.

  10. Let's see... she went thru the doorway grappling with Lanfear, it's possible she got some of her memories, ala Rand and Moridin, by having thier channeling (or just holding the source) cross wires. So that would be the memories. We might surmise one of her questions was how to get Rand to trust her, hence the bedding him would be disasterace. I personally feel one of her questions was how can he survive. Her actions, at times, would seem to indicate differently, but I think she genuinly cares for him/them. Being thrust into a role not of his choosing. She does show affection for Thom, which some think was not there before, but remember after Whitebridge when Rand tells her Thom died, she sort of has a " Oh, I don't think so" attitude. She cares but at this point she's all business. Then her last question might have been how to defeat the DO. Being the fighter she is I don't think sealing him back up would be in her nature. Defeat ! Victory, there is no second !

  11. Is Demandred with the Borderlanders ? Not sure what to think, maybe it's all wrong but there is a passage from Path of Daggers, Deceptive Appearances Queen Ethenielles "Sword Bearer" says," I don't like hiding who I am" Could be all wrong, I am re-reading.

  12. Lets see...somewhere in the blossoming posts someone mentioned Brandon writting "Mat as a third person" and he never has refered to himself that way. Well in Winters Hearts,Chptr.30 leaving Ebou Dar we see...

"Now and then he grimaced at the darkening clouds in the sky and shook his head. No, Mat Cauthon did not like being out in this weather. Mat cauthon would be somewhere warm and dry until the skies cleared, yes, he would" So he has refered to himself as a third.

As to Mat back in Ebou Dar, he feels a responsibility to her( Tuon ) after getting to know her, not the typical woman Mat Cauthon normally would have chosen for himself, and learning thru Kadre, her Deathwatch Guard, that someone was/ is trying to kill her. It is his wife after all.

  13. Rand never said he put a trap on the Caemlyn gate. He just said it was guarded. Later he used the word 'sealed' but we don't know what he meant by that.

    I agree with that.

It doesn't matter whether or not you agree with it; that's what Rand said.

Ouch. Did'nt mean to step wrongly here. Just that I agree with your fact.

  14. FWIW a channeler who's too weak to make a Gate could burn six trollocs at once. She may be skilled enough to split her flows that many ways. Think of Egwene forkrooted in the tower and irritating her AS teachers by doing exactly that. .

Yes,but to make the fireballs and overcome the forkroot effects she had to link. But she could divide her flows, was just to weak to do anything with them.

  15. Rand never said he put a trap on the Caemlyn gate. He just said it was guarded. Later he used the word 'sealed' but we don't know what he meant by that.

I agree with that. he put a trap on the one in Shadar Logoth.By "sealed" Loial had put both leaves on the outside so it could not be opened from inside. He did that at all the waygates he and Asha'man ( ? ) visited. The only Waygate Loial actually destroyed was Manethrens. He removed the leaves which will "kill" the waygate and would need the talisman of growing to restore.

  16. Please quote where any channeler makes a small Gateway other than Androl. I simply do not remember any.

We haven't seen one, but we have been told they can be made:

The sisters with the strength to make gateways had all been in Salidar long enough to know it well. Those who could weave a gateway of useful size were able to Travel almost anywhere from there, and land right on the spot.

Thanks. That is enough to go by. It could be that the single Kin member left may not have been strong enough to do even a small Gateway. However from the description of her healing and torching trollocs seems to suggest she was strong enogh to make a small Gatway as you suggest. If that is true than BS screwed up. Good catch.

Androl can make large gateways. Taim (m'hael ) tells Rand about it and is amazed at his ability.Saying it's about the only thing he has a talent for with the power.

  17. In regards to Allanna "controlling" Rand thru the bond, she had told Cadsuane that she "has tried but it was like trying to control an avalanch." ( I don't remember the exact quote ) and Cadsuane thought to her self that" knowing Allanna she did'nt think she would have had any better chance than she at controlling him"
